Naruto skipped along at Iruka's side. Today would be his first day at the
academy. He hoped he made friends, people who didn't call him names.
Although he never let it show, those names hurt. Deeply. He had seen Neji
and Lee occasionally outside the classroom, but never got to play with them
for long before they had to leave. Their parents would be furious if they
discovered that the two had befriended Naruto. Besides, they were older,
and he wanted a friend his own age to play with him.

Children were milling around the doors when they arrived. Some whispered and
nudged their neighbors. Iruka and Naruto ignored them, continuing on into the
building. Iruka walked him to his new classroom, and knelt in front of him.

"Naruto, try your best to learn everything. You're just as good as anybody
else. Remember, this is the first year for the rest of your class, too." He
stood up and ruffled the blond hair. "See you at lunch. Come to my class; we
can go get some ramen. If you need anything, just ask. I'll be right down
the hall." So saying, Iruka strolled away, looking over his should and giving
a final wave.

Naruto stood in the doorway staring after the chuunin, wondering what he
should do next.

"Out of the way, Usuratonkachi! You're blocking the door!"

Naruto turned, staring into the deepest, darkest eyes he had ever seen. It
took a minute to realize that the boy had been speaking to him. Quickly, he
stepped aside to allow the raven to enter.

"Hn."

Naruto followed him into the room and sat at the desk next to him. "Um...Hi!
My name's Naruto. What's yours?" He gave the other boy his biggest, sunniest
smile.

The dark-haired boy glanced at him, then turned to gaze out the window again.
"Sasuke." Suddenly, his face brightened and he turned expectantly to the
door.

A pair of boys entered the classroom, laughing and talking animatedly. They
waved to Sasuke and made their way over to him. "Hey, Sasuke! Isn't this
great? We are finally ninja students! Your parents must be proud! I know
mine are!" The taller of the two took the seat on the window side of the
raven while the other took the seat in front of them. "This is going to be so
great!"

"Settle down, class!" A silver-haired young ninja strode into the room and
stood in front of the class. Everyone quieted in their seats, facing him.
"Now today we will just be getting to know one another, and covering the
history of Konoha. If you have questions, raise your hand. Okay, we'll start
with you on the first row. What is your name, and why do you want to become a
ninja?"

The sensei, who's name was Mizuki, went down the rows like this until he got
to Naruto. "Who are you? Why are you in this class?" He had a look on his
face as if something stunk.

Naruto, being oblivious to the sensei's reaction to him, answered, "I'm
Uzumaki Naruto, and I want to be a ninja so I can protect my loved ones."

A few people snickered, while others snorted with mirth. Mizuki sneered.
"You have loved ones? That's a laugh! Next!"

Naruto was hurt and confused. Why did the man behave like that? He had given
the same type of response as the rest of the class, and no one had laughed at
them. He listened to the boy, Sasuke, state his reason.

"...my brother. He's ANBU, and he's only ten. He's the pride of the clan,
a proj...prob...progidy. I want to be just like him!" Sasuke smiled as he
finished.

Naruto tuned out the rest of the class's replies. So this boy wants to be a
ninja like his brother? Why had no one laughed at him? He couldn't wait for
lunchtime so he could talk to Iruka. The rest of the morning dragged on, and
Naruto soon became lost in all the dates and different names of important
people he was to remember. When the bell rang for lunch, he raced out the
door to Iruka's classroom.

Sitting at Ichiraku's, Naruto picked at his food. He couldn't figure out how
to ask the questions burning inside him. Would Iruka know the answers? He
twirled his ramen once more, then set his chopsticks down. "Iruka? Why did
everyone laugh at me?"

Iruka, who had been surreptitiously watching the little blond, turned to fully
look at the boy. "What do you mean?"

"When Mizuki-sensei asked why I was there, I told him 'to learn to protect my
loved ones'. Everyone laughed, and he said, 'You have loved ones? That's a
laugh!' They didn't laugh at anyone else, just me. Why?"

Iruka was angry; not just angry, but furious. Mizuki knew he was Naruto's
guardian. He thought they were friends. How could Mizuki betray him like
that? He would just have to have a little talk with the other chuunin before
the start of afternoon classes. As for Naruto's question... "I guess it was
because everyone knows you're an orphan. I know it wasn't very nice, but try
to ignore it, okay? Things will get better."

Naruto took Iruka's words at face value, and went back to eating. When they
were done, they headed back to school.

"How could you say something like that to him?! You know he lives with me,
and that I care for him! Don't let the other children laugh at him like that,
either. Don't you remember how it was for you in school? Then you should
know how it feels!" Iruka had cornered Mizuki, and was now letting out some
of his anger. He watched the silver-haired chuunin hang his head. He
relented a bit and placed a hand on the other's shoulder. "Are we still
friends?" he asked softly. When the other nodded and smiled at him, Iruka
smiled back. Everything was going to be fine now. He just knew it.

Naruto walked into the classroom to see that Sasuke and the other two boys had
changed seats. No one was sitting near his desk. Feeling tears welling in
his eyes, he hung his head and went to sit down. This was the worst day ever.

~~~~
School had been in session for several weeks, and Naruto had yet to make a new
friend. Mizuki ignored him, for the most part, and the kids avoided him like
the plague. He didn't know what he had done that was so wrong. At least, no
one called him 'monster' or 'demon' in school. To make matters worse, his
birthday was coming up. He already knew Neji and Lee wouldn't be able to come
this year; they had told him so, stopping him in the hall before class today.
Iruka had suggested a party, when they met for lunch, but Naruto had refused.
He was so depressed; why did no one like him? He took his stance and prepared
to throw the shuriken. He missed, as usual. It seemed the worse he felt, the
worse he did at everything. He would just have to practice later, when nobody
was around.
Sasuke watched the blond kid. He kinda liked how friendly the boy had seemed
the first few days of school, but his friends said to stay away from him. It
was because their parents said the boy was bad, evil. Sasuke didn't believe
it, but did what they said anyway. Naruto no longer smiled or tried to talk
to anybody. In fact, he stayed to himself. Sasuke knew he was having
problems in class, because every time the boy raised his hand, Mizuki-sensei
ignored him. Sasuke didn't know how to change things without losing his
friends, so he didn't try. He went back to practice.
~~~~

Iruka, Kakashi and Naruto had a quiet meal and a cake to celebrate the blond's
fifth birthday. Kakashi gave Naruto his very own set of shuriken, and
child-sized kunai. Iruka had gotten him more clothes, as usual. Naruto
quietly thanked the two, and excused himself from the table. He didn't want
to stay up to see the fireworks, since he couldn't go outside to get a good
look. He couldn't wait for this day to be over.

Iruka worried about the little boy as he cleared the table and washed the
dishes. Naruto no longer would talk to him when he had a problem. He knew
Kakashi was having the same trouble. They hadn't done more than share the
same bed in weeks. Their relationship was suffering because of Naruto. No,
he couldn't think that way. They were having problems because Naruto wouldn't
confide in them, and they didn't know how to help the boy, and neither knew
how to bring the subject up. He should try now, while Naruto was out of the
room. Putting up the last dried dish, he said, "Kakashi, we need to do
something to help Naruto. We can't go on this way, living together like
strangers, no one talking. I miss his smile and laughter. I miss YOUR smile
and laughter. I miss YOU!" Iruka gave the jounin a beseeching look.

Kakashi was at the chuunin's side in an instant, holding him close. "I know,
and I'm sorry. Tell you what, this weekend, we'll go out to the forest. We
can have a picnic, train with Naruto, and help him on his schoolwork. It'll
be fun! Maybe, he'll even open up to us like he used to. What do you say?"

Iruka drew away slightly. Gazing at Kakashi, he gave him a brilliant smile.
"I think that's a great idea!" He followed this statement up with a chaste
kiss.

Kakashi pulled the brunette closer and deepened the kiss, sucking on the
other's lips till they parted. He thrust his tongue into that inviting warmth
and mapped out the inside. Soon, the two were tongue-wrestling, trying to
gain the upper hand. Kakashi won as Iruka moaned and leaned into him. He let
his hands slide down the younger man's back to cup his ass. He gave an
experimental squeeze.

Iruka moaned again, and ground his hips into the jounin's, causing the older
man to moan, too. Clothed erections pressing against each other, they ground
together, the friction almost intolerable. Finally, Iruka couldn't stand it
anymore, and pulled away. Panting, he said, "More. I need skin."

Kakashi was more than happy to oblige. He quickly undid his pants, freeing
his erection. Iruka was unfastening his shirt. Kakashi's hands moved to the
waistband of the chuunin's pants, popped the button, and slowly slid the
zipper down. He eased the pants off of slim hips, soon followed by a pair of
silky boxers. Iruka stood before him in all his naked glory; Kakashi wiped
drool from the corner of his mouth. This would be their first time; he wanted
to remember it. He removed his hitai-ate, exposing his Sharingan. He gazed
at the toned body. Who knew a teacher could be so buff?

Iruka didn't let him look for long. He grabbed the front of Kakashi's shirt,
and without bothering with undoing the buttons, yanked it off. Buttons flew
everywhere, but neither cared. Iruka then took hold of the jounin's pants and
pulled them to the man's ankles. Kakashi wasn't wearing any underwear. Iruka
licked his lips. Damn, but the man was gorgeous! He cupped the jounin's face,
pulling him in for another deep kiss. He couldn't get enough! He pressed
tightly into the silver-headed nin, grinding hard.

Kakashi moaned deep in his throat. He pushed back just enough to kick off his
pants, then dove back into that sweetness. He gripped one of the chuunin's
legs and held it around his waist, grinding against that satiny skin. He
couldn't take much more. He lifted Iruka onto the counter and opened the
refrigerator. Pulling out the butter, Kakashi opened it and scooped out a
handful. He smeared it over his hands, making sure to coat his fingers. With
one hand, he slicked up his cock. He leaned into Iruka, kissing him again,
pulling him to the edge of the counter. Tilting the chuunin to expose the
rosy entrance, he inserted his index finger.

Iruka practically jumped off of the counter. It felt weird, unlike anything
he had ever experienced before. As the finger began to move, Iruka moved to
get more. A second finger slid in and he winced. It didn't exactly hurt, but
it was uncomfortable. Then, Kakashi began to stroke something inside him and
it started to feel good. Real good. Iruka thrust against the invading digits
moaning almost continuously. But he needed more!

Kakashi answered his silent plea by pressing a third digit into that tight
hole. He paused when Iruka gasped in pain. He reached up to grip the
brunette's shaft, stroking it to take the other's mind off of his pain. He
ran his thumb over the slit, eliciting a cry from the chuunin. Slowly, he
moved his fingers in and out of that tight heat. Iruka relaxed, muscles
unclenching. Scissoring his fingers, Kakashi stretched the entrance,
occasionally stroking the soft bundle of nerves located deep in that passage.
Iruka's cock was dripping with precum. When the doe-eyed nin's balls began to
tighten, Kakashi removed his hands.

Iruka let loose a whimper of disappointment at the loss. A scream erupted
unbidden from his throat as Kakashi thrust his erection past the ring of
muscle. Iruka clung tightly to the jounin's shoulders, willing the pain away.
Murmurs of 'relax' filtered through his brain. He did so. More of the jounin
slid into him, before pausing once more to let him adjust. Iruka signaled his
readiness by wiggling his hips. This made him gasp as his prostate was nudged.

Kakashi began at a slow pace, only sliding out a little before pushing back in.
Soon he had increased his pace and depth. He recaptured kiss-swollen lips and
delved deep into his lover's mouth. Iruka was rocking against him, hands traveling
across his chest, fingers playing with his nipples. Kakashi tried to be quiet, for
Naruto's sake, but when Iruka grabbed his ass, and rectal walls tightened around his
member, he couldn't help himself. He groaned. Loudly. He palmed the brunette's
shaft and gave it a few good pumps. That was enough to send the chuunin over the edge.
Iruka came with a cry of 'Kakashiii!!!, cum spurting over the young nin's abdomen and
chest. It also splattered on Kakashi's, and poured over his fist. It was too much for
the jounin; his cock squeezed by a vice-grip of muscles, he came as well, flooding the
tight passage with his seed.

Iruka leaned his head on the broad chest in front of him, trying to catch his breath.
"That...was...amazing!" he panted out. He lifted his head and smiled at the other nin.
"I think I'm ready to go to bed now. Do you mind?"

Kakashi was tired, so he agreed. Without pulling out, he wrapped Iruka's legs around
his waist and carried him into the bedroom. He only pulled out when they were settled,
to spoon against the younger nin. They fell asleep with smiles on their faces.

~~~~
Naruto woke in the middle of the night. He had had a bad dream that angry villagers
were coming for him. Moonlight shone across the bed, showing Iruka and Kakashi sleeping
cuddled together. He climbed out of his bed, padding over to the other. Lifting the
blanket, he was about to crawl in with them when he noticed neither were wearing clothes.
Ew! Whatever the deal was, he wanted no part of it! He went back to his own bed, burying
himself under the blankets, and prayed for morning.
~~~~

School the next day was awful, as usual. When Mizuki-sensei did call on Naruto, he made
scathing comments regarding the boy's answer. The other kids ignored him, or whispered
behind their hands as he passed. Iruka had a meeting at lunchtime, and couldn't spend
time with him. He had been too embarassed to ask about last night, with Kakashi at the
breakfast table, and had hoped to get the chance at lunch. Now, he was being picked on
by some older students while waiting for his turn at target practice. It was now official:
school sucked!
