Chapter 7: Solutions:
The following morning the Kazekage was sitting in his office, staring out the huge windows as the daily reports and schedule were reported. Gaara didn’t listen to a word of what his subordinates were talking about; his mind preoccupied with what had happed the night before. Naruto had confided in him, something no one had ever done before, just like the other things that had happened between them.
The warm feeling of Naruto´s body pressing against his own, the heated kisses and the soft, caring strokes of tanned hands. Gaara wanted more… but he wasn’t prepared to force Naruto to stay in a relationship with him if it meant that the blonde would be in misery.
“Gaara! Are you listening to me?” Startled he turned his gaze to the familiar voice that had called out to him.
“Temari-chan?”
“What’s with you…? I’ve been telling you for the last 5 minutes that the rumors were true! Uchiha Sasuke has defeated and killed both Itachi of the Akatsuki as well as Orochimaru!” She was leaning over his heavy wooden desk, a look of concern in her eyes.
“Nothing…. It´s a private matter! What did you say again…? About the Uchiha heir?"
“Che! Gaara…. I said the rumors are true…. I just signed a peace treaty with Uchiha Sasuke… the new leader of the Sound! And you know what? He’s looking for someone…. And he seams pretty desperate to find the ones he’s looking for…. Guess who?”

“Hnnn!” The raven-haired male calmed down, regaining his self-control before turning towards his guest.
Kakashi made a gesture with his hand to make Sasuke pause as he went over to Hinata and Neji who was standing next to each other; talking. The copy-nin whispered something to both of them, Neji looked angry and Hinata just nodded in silence at the message from the older shinobi.
Soon after they were done talking, they begged their leave and left the Sound-leader and his former sensei alone. Kira left the room as well.
“Well …. I trust the Inuzuka kid is going to return the Dobe to Konoha when he finds him at the Sand? And I’ll get no opportunity to see him again…. Isn’t that a fact Kakashi-sensei?” Sasuke broke the silence.
“Probably, Sasuke-kun….. But that the way of the ninja… and you should know that by now!”
“Are you mocking me for the choices I made in my life? I know I made mistakes…. But you can’t keep me from seeing him….”
“Why is this so important to you all of a Sudden? I thought you made you point clear to Naruto when you left him at that valley!”
“Hnnn I don´t have to tell you about my intentions with the Dobe.”
“You’re right, you don´t Sasuke-kun, but Naruto is my friend as well and very important to my dolphin. If you want to meet up with him just to show of with you new power, then forget it… I’ll not allow Naruto to be treated like that again…. He still felt responsible to bring you back… to save you till the day he left Konoha!”
“… He is?” Sasuke stared at his former teacher as a small smile appeared on his pale lips.
“… You are not searching after him to fight him…. Are you Sasuke-kun?” Kakashi smirked at the raven-haired male’s smiling face.
“How long have you felt that way about him?”
“I don´t know what you are implying Sensei, but I’ve always felt something…. But it became clear to me after I left him there….. It was to late by then…. I couldn’t return to Konoha. They would never allow me to go outside the city again; they would have sealed my power or something even worse….”
“I understand… “Kakashi nodded and walked past Sasuke towards the door.
He stopped next to the younger man and laid his hand on Sasuke´s shoulder.
“Know what? Your genjutsu and the girls are quite similar to my sharingan… hard to keep apart if used in the right way. Perhaps you should refresh some of your and Naruto´s old genin jutsus…. It could prove useful to you!”
He gave Sasuke´s shoulder a reassuring squeeze before he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
“Huh? What does he? … Oh I get it…. Thank you Sensei.” The last Uchiha bowed. And with a satisfied smirk on his face he called out for Kira.

Gaara stared at the sleeping figure in his bed, snoring and drooling peacefully. The golden brown skin moved at the blonde’s steady breathing.
You are looking like an angel would if they would exist in our world, Gaara thought as he sat down on the bed next to the snoring man.
“Naruto-kun!” Gaara leaned in to kiss the soft pink lips.
“Mmmmm five more minutes, pleaaaaaase Gaara!” The blonde pouted as their lips parted.
“I have important news for you… I hate to give you up….. but…!”
Suddenly the blonde was awake; he stared at the red-headed male at his side.
“What are you talking about?” he had a worried look in his deep blue eyes.
“Temari…. She just returned from the Sound with urgent news… “
“what… you sent her to that place… why?”
“You probably haven’t heard the news due to your training then…. Orochimaru is dead… killed by their new leader…. Who has also managed to kill a certain member of the Akatsuki?” Gaara stared at Naruto´s chest… his breathing had become heavier.
“What? Who?”
“You of all should be able to guess who!”
“Sas…ke?” Naruto whispered.
Gaara only nodded sadly in reply.
“He’s still alive then?” The blonde’s face turned into a huge grin. “Thank you Gaara…. I´m so glad you told me… he’s finally safe… finally free form the pain, hate and longing for power.”
“Will… will you go to him?” Gaara felt like someone was squeezing his heart so hard it would burst from the pain. He didn’t want to lose this cheerful being.
“No…. he doesn’t want to see me… off that I´m sure… I’ll be happy to know he’s ok…”
No you don´t… don’t lie to yourself Naruto.”
“What’s wrong…? I thought you wanted me to stay with you… besides the Teme isn’t interested in me… he just want to beat me to a bloody pulp…. He’s a Kage now to… that means he’s stronger than before heh heh”
“He’s searching for you!”
“What?”
“Temari told me that he specifically requested your presence at the meeting at the Sound. And as you didn’t attend he questioned the Konoha representatives about your whereabouts.”
“Why do you tell me this, Gaara?”
“I want you to be happy…. With the one you love. I whished that I could be the one for you…. But It´s alright…. As long as you are…..” tears ran down his cheeks.
He hadn’t cried for many years and he knew why. It was hard to let someone you love go, but he would rather let him go as his friend than force the blonde to stay and eventually lose him forever.
He felt warm fingers wipe away the tears.
“Gaara…… I don´t now what to say?”
He wrapped his slender arms around the blonde’s neck, pressing his trembling body close to the warm tanned skin.
“Promise me, you’ll come back to me if it doesn’t work out between you!”
