Chapter 7
Hey there, I am back. Woohoo. How are you guys. Thank you for you patience with my vacation. More adventures with our favorite men ..... Sasuke and Neji.......here you go!
Sasuke set Neji down in the wheelchair that Tsunade had left them. “Neji, why don’t you practice?” he said, “I have to talk to the Hokage before we leave.”
Neji nodded worriedly. “Is something wrong?”
The Uchiha noticed the look on his lovers face and sighed. “Yes, but not about you,” he said, “I have to ask her a favor.”
Sighing a little, the Hyuuga began to practice with the chair. When he heard Sasuke leave the room, he stopped moving and covered his face with his hands. “Why me,” he whispered and broke down.
Sasuke walked into the Hokage’s office and sat down. “Tsunade-sama, I am having a little problem,” he said.
“Let me guess, Neji is being too damn proud,” she said.
Sasuke nodded. “He refuses to accept any help unless he absolutely cannot do it himself, and that is putting it nicely,” he said, “I am seriously afraid he is going to hurt himself worse.”
“I know, that is why, while you are one your mission, someone will be staying with Neji,” she said, “Until he at least learns to fend for himself, he will need constant supervision.”
“He is really going to hate that,” Sasuke said, “But you are right, I don’t want to come home and find him dead.”
Tsunade nodded and smiled. “I think that I may have found a way to restore some of his sight, but he will never be able to continue being a nin.”
“Anything,” Sasuke said.
Naruto looked around his apartment, suddenly bored. He knew Kakashi would be there soon, but it was taking too long and he had no ramen. Standing, he went to open the door to step outside when he heard a knock. Kakashi walked into the room, only to be tackled by Naruto. The blonde kissed the older man softly and smiled. “I was so bored waiting for you,” he said.
Kakashi grinned. “Well, that is nice to know.”
Naruto stood, and pulled his teacher up, and into an embrace “Hmmm, I am sure that I can make you fell really nice.”
The Copy Nin gasped and followed the younger man into the bedroom.
Sasuke walked back into the hospital room to see Neji still crying. The Uchiha knelt down in front of his lover and took his hands. “What is wrong?”
Neji sniffed a little and lifted his head. “Sasuke, why are you still here?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
The brunette shrugged. “Thought you would want me to go home,” he whispered.
Sasuke sighed in frustration. “Neji, why the hell would I send you back there?” he snapped, “They are the ones that did this to you; I want you to get as well as possible, not have any more damage done.”
Neji flinched. He lifted a hand in his good arm in defense, turning his head away. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Sasuke ran his hand through his hair and then put his arms around the trembling Hyuuga. “Neji, baby, shhh,” he whispered, “Come on, let’s take you home and get you comfortable.”
Neji nodded and Sasuke stood. He pushed his lover out of the room, wanting nothing more than for him to be walking beside him.
(2 days later)
“Neji, Shika and Kakashi are here,” Sasuke called, “I have to go.”
The Hyuuga limped out, leaning heavily on a cane. “All right,” he said, “Be careful, please.”
Sasuke walked over to him and kissed him. “I will see you in a few days,” he said, “That is if Naruto does not screw it up.”
Neji nodded. “I am sure that he would not do it on purpose.”
The Uchiha groaned. “Yes he would,” he said, “He does anything he can to make my life miserable.”
Kakashi cleared his throat and Sasuke turned. “Yeah, have to go,” he muttered, “Neji remember to try as many things as you feel comfortable with, but ask for help when you need it.”
The Hyuuga rolled his eyes. “Yes, I will,” he said, “and I have therapy to go too also.”
Sasuke kissed him again and turned to Kakashi. He handed him a list of the therapy schedule and medications for Neji. “He will only take the pain killers if it is to the point that he cannot function, the others he will take fairly easily,” he said softly, “Tsunade is working on a Jutsu for the blindness, so if she calls for him, that is why.”
He looked back at his lover, who was now sitting on the couch. “He has been acting too happy; I am worried, so please watch him.”
Both nin nodded. “He may just be coming to terms with his plight, or Tsunade had been counseling him during his other therapy,” Shika said, “Or he is trying to trick you so he can do something drastic.”
Sasuke nodded. “I just hope that the Hokage can help him.”
He turned back towards Neji. “Baby, I have to leave now, are you all right?”
Neji nodded. “I am fine, Sasuke,” he said, “Hurry back though, I hate it when you are gone.”
The Uchiha walked back over to his lover and kissed him. “I know, but hopefully, you will be able to see when I get back.”
Once again, Neji only nodded. “You are coming back, right?” he whispered.
Sighing, Sasuke kissed Neji again. “Yes.”
“Don’t go.”
“I have to,” Sasuke replied, “Please, don’t do this.”
Neji turned his head away and closed his eyes. “All right,” he whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Hey, bastard, it’s time to go!”
Sasuke sighed and looked at Neji. “Bye, baby.”
“Bye.”
Sasuke ran out of the room and caught up with Naruto. “Come on loser.”
Neji took a deep breath. “Come and sit,” he said, “It makes me nervous when people just stand around.”
Kakashi and Shika moved around to sit on the couch. Neji took another deep breath and turned his head toward them. “He is going on a mission, right?”
