Ok guys I thought we covered this...where are all my reviewers? what happened? I mean seriously if your reading my story then at least give me something back...

Tsunade braced herself as she waited for the rolling to stop, she was waiting in her office for the rookie nine*. After the rollling floor stopped pitching, she took a seat at her desk again, watching as one by one the once-rookies plus a few others filed in some looking grim faced, others looking curious just as some faces were equally unreadable. Turning she scanned them all Kiba, Shikamaru, Hinata, Tenten, Neji, Lee, Shino, Chouji, Ino, Saskura, Sasuke, Sai and even Akamaru filled her office waiting for information.

“Naruto is missing and we must find him. He is targeted by many “S” ranking criminals and rogue ninjas who will, no doubt, take advantage of this upheaval. Kakashi has already released his hounds to track the scent which, as of right now, has not been found.”

Standing up behind her desk she eyed them seriously “Kiba you will head Squad 1 with Lee and Ino. Shino Squad 2 with Hinata and Chouji. Neji Squad 3 with Tenten and Shikamaru. Sasuke Squad 4 with Sakura and Sai. You will all start at Naruto’s apartment from there Squad 1 will search to the north, Squad 2 the south, 3 the East and Squad 4 to the west. Once you locate his trail alert the other squads and Kakashi.”

Finishing her briefing, Tsunade’s amber eyes focused on each and everyone of them before she commanded them to “Find him.” She dismissed them seriously, importance giving her words weight, as she watched them disappear from her office.

~*~*Squads

Sasuke leapt soundlessly through the roof, the other squads branching out along the rooftops with him as he mulled over these implications. Naruto was missing...how...why... when? Skidding to halt, the squads ranged out along the roof and even some in the large oak tree that sat right next the shabby old building that housed the blond's cheap apartment. The squads waited silently as Kiba, Shino, Neji and Sasuke slipped into the apartment to search. Kiba huffed through his nose as blood and sweat hit him like a slap in the face, next to him the other three took in the sharp tang of something but they weren’t quite sure what.

A sharp spicy twang that twitched in their noses as they studied the room. Neji took in the long gouge marks in the wall and on the window sill. Next to him Shino released two bugs to probe the dried blood specks that decorated the slashed bedding. Sasuke felt the tell tale shifts in the normal chakra patterns and released his sharingans to analyze the residue from the energy fluctuations, the customary blue was almost red as it wavered a burnt orange like rust, shuddering jaggedly through the room.

Following the crackling orange chakra, he felt Neji activate his byakugan and immediately note the odd energy lines. Following the energy flow, both Sasuke and Neji traced it outside of the window. “The chakra lines are off” Sasuke told the other two who had noticed even though they just couldn’t see it. Following the lines closely Sasuke noticed something odd, very odd but kept it to himself as he turned to Shino who spoke next.

“It’s like a solid trail.” Shino muttered as his bugs told him the same thing. Kiba nodded as he stifled a sneeze “it’s messy and very powerful” he commented as the energy burned his nose.

“However it’s awkward, there is no trace of any other person yet two chakra energies are prominent and overlapping.” Neji questioned quietly as he eyed the warping blues and reds that were meshing into that rusty orange throughout the room.

Sliding out of the apartment, the captains relayed their finding to the group as a whole causing Hinata to activate her own byakugan. Outside, the ones who could see the energies watched as it zigzagged in many directions all over the village in confusing trails and tangled knots, while Kiba could only smell it and Shino could only sense it, this trail threw them all for a loop.

Just then Pakkun leapt down next to them. “We can’t find a distinct trail, this chakra loops all over the village.” Nodding at him, the squads split up each headed his own direction as they began to methodically comb the village trying to find a distinct trail that didn’t fold back onto itself. Searching through the night, they slowly untangled the energies, lining them out into straight paths.

The earthquakes had come all night at broken intervals with no traceable pattern. All night long...well into the morning the Godaime had to grip the railing to keep from falling down the stairs as she headed into her office. Looking to Shizune, she asked in a clipped tone. “Any word from Suna?” behind her the sun shone brightly in the early morning light, her squads still out untangling and smoothing the chakra patterns.

“Yes actually” The brunette sighed after a yawn, nodding the blond hokage took the correspondence from her assistant’s hand. Skimming over the letter, she frowned, apparently Gaara had left late at night about a day and a half before the first quake to deal with some disturbance out in the deserts of Suna.

The kazekage had left the “disturbance” purposefully vague and expressly told his subordinates to not follow until after five days. 'Five days?' Pondering the significance, before Tsunade contemplated the rest of the letter. Well obviously Gaara was dealing with something out in the dunes of Suna, it was either causing the quakes or both the Kazekage and this “disturbance” were at fault. Either way, Gaara would be unreachable for another 3 days.

As if to mock her the ground pitched under her again, another shock wave shaking the ground. Waiting for the earth to stop spinning, Tsunade snatched a pen up and quickly drafted a reply stating that Konoha understood but even then if it would be alright if we did some re-con just in case. Sending the message off with Shizune, Tsunade waited.

To enter the land of an ally without express permission from the leaders was tantamount to espionage and would not be taken lightly by the sand. Konoha would have to wait for Suna’s reply and try some long distance searching.

“Izumo!” The godaime called waiting for her aide to step into her office. “I want the Anbu trackers, Shibi Aburame, and Tsume Inuzuka.”

“Hai” before he leapt out to deliver the summons.

Gaara braced himself over Naruto panting and shuddering as he trembled from the overwhelming orgasms that had ripped through him. His golden demon eyes staring down at the blond fox beneath him. Their demonic chakras washing around them in a type of sustenance. Anyone else would have died from the amount of exercise and the lack of water and food but oddly enough the demonic energy seemed to mute these needs as lust, sex, and physical satiation became the main goal.

Dropping the long, tan legs from over his shoulder, the redhead flopped down panting lightly as the blond growled contentedly beneath him, the purring vibration was soothing as it rumbled through the blond’s chest, tingling against his own pale cheek. The demon blood, the aura, still in control as the sun glared down over them, nothing more then a soothing warmth over their bodies instead of the searing heat that it really was.

Dropping off to sleep over his lover’s chest, Gaara breathed deeply before curling his arm around the solid waist beneath him. Naruto registered the firm grip around his hips as he too fell asleep the desert sun wildly hot above them. Toasting the sand around them but curiously not burning their own skin because of the black and red energies surrounding the pair in a sort of protective cloud. these energies protecting and maintaining them in the heat and without any food or water.

Glancing around at the requested people, Tsunade addressed the Aburame head and the Inuzuka leader. “You two are our best trackers the village has to offer, I want you both to lead separate anbu squads out into the surrounding villages for clues or tracks as to what is causing this disturbance. Valid sources that tell us the problem is in Suna but as of yet we do not have clearance to check it out ourselves. In the meantime search for anything strange or different. Overlook nothing and report regularly through the chakra lines.”

Watching their nods, the buxom hokage turned to the assembled Anbu, 10 in all. "Shibi* and Tsume* will decide their teams out of you, you get the gist of the mission from what you just heard. Follow their orders and report anything and everything no matter how big or small. We need every bit of information until we get a response from Suna. Tsume you will lead your team to the west and head straight towards Suna, you will pass the Hill country, Tea Village and the Grain Village in the Brush lands. Shibi you will circumvent Suna entering around along the far west, check the villages on the other side of the sand and then continue south to check the villages that surround Suna. You, Tsume will continue up North. Send regulation notifications of everything you find or don’t find.”

Turning she glanced at her watch and braced for another quake, but it never came. Looking curiously towards Shizune, but the assistant had no advice on the absence of any shock wave.

The sun banked low on the horizon as ninjas and villagers alike all over the villages wondered at the “quakes” and now the lack of them. As they waited for a verdict from their respective kages, wondering and speculating various and assorted reasons and explanations.

“What the hell is going on?” Deidara complained, flinging his blond bangs out of face as Itachi loomed off in his own corner, Kisame was sprawled by the cave wall as he turned to their leader for some explanation or answer. Even the brooding Uchiha was intently watching the man hidden away in the shadows, not even twitching as a huge plant erupted from the soil about a foot away from the rock the sharingan master was perched on. Konan* was leaning casually against the far wall her own eyes trained on Pein* as the plant-like Zetzu* made himself comfortable against another wall waiting for an explanation.

“As of now, we have no concrete explanation or source of this backlash wave. But we do know that it came from two extremely powerful beings. Either they collided in combat or they’re just facing off. The wave originated in the Dune Valleys of Suna. My sources tell me that the kazekage left 3 days earlier for unknown reasons and has forbidden anyone to follow him for a space of five days.” Pein rumbled, his voice low in the cavern, yet oozing with underlying power, to underestimate him was to commit suicide. “Konoha is already on the move but there is no activity in any of the other shinobi nations. The godaime has two scouting teams outside the village and 4 squads within. Suna, as of yet, has made no move after their kazekage.”

Finishing his briefing, he began to fade back into the gloom and shadows of the cave before he added a side note “after a few more inquiries, I will decide who will go into Suna to fully learn about this development and dispatch it if necessary.”

Disappearing completely, he left the others to their thoughts as they mulled over all the angles and implications of their leader’s words.

Night fell over Suna, bathing the sand in the cool washes of chilly winds and nocturnal animals. A cool little breeze blew over a sand bank, skipping down the slope before twirling up into the air. Dancing and cavorting, the little wind wisp slid over the ridges and valleys of the desert as it approached the rolling sand hills that made up the Dune Valley.

Skittering over the sand mounds, it blew softly over the two creatures intertwined under the clear, starry velvet blanket of a night that stretched for miles in every direction. Of the two animals, one was long and blond sprawled in the sand, his arms thrown around his lover, his claws lightly pressing into his pale partner’s side. Laying over the blond was a redhead who was collapsed over the firm frame of the fox below him, his own talons relaxed as his hand lay flat over Naruto’s chest.

Dozing together, Naruto breathed deeply, a full slow inhalation before he cracked open a still slitted eye. Briefly taking a moment to acquaint himself with his surroundings before he turned his attention to the deliciously long, sleep warmed body of the man next to him.

Licking a slow curling slide across the chest he was currently pressed against, he watched that pale belly as it rippled in response. Pushing his tongue out between his fangs, he pushed it roughly down as he rose up onto his elbows above Gaara. His eyes morphing a little more, the sharp points of his pupils glowing crimson as he growled low, watching as a pair of amber eyes fluttered open beneath him.

Looking up at Naruto, the redhead let his voice rumble through his chest as he invited the blond to do more than just lick him. Trading a growl for a growl, Naruto bent his head as he scooted down letting his golden bangs, hard here and there with dried blood, tickle the blond’s chest as he let his mouth bite into the hard, vulnerable belly of his lover.

“Ne Hokaga-sama do you think the backlash waves have stopped?” Shizune asked as she laid a stack of reports on Tsunade’s deck to be evaluated. The blond woman turned as she sighed “who can tell, we’ve had almost an entire day without anything.” But it was still another day and half until they would be able to press matters to enter Suna.

“Do you think Suna has gotten our reply yet?” The brunette assistant asked casually as she placed a full glass of water on her mentor’s desk next to the reports.

Nodding Tsunade turned as an elegant, barely visible wisp of wind in the shape of a bird passed into her office. Holding out her hand, the godaime let the wind eagle alight to her hand dissolving on contact.

'Nothing in Tea/Grain Villages. worry about disturbances.'

The message was short and concise to conserve chakra and came from Tsume’s squad. So far no clues had turned up just that the villages had felt the wave and everyone was worried. But that was obvious judging by the hoard of messages and letters that arrived from Konoha’s surrounding villages, the ones Konoha was bound to protect.

‘A day and a half left to wait.’ she consoled as she started on the pile of letters and messages she had to respond to in order to placate the mass of nobles and village elders who wanted information.

Naruto grinned ferally, his fangs were white and sharp as they curved down over his red lips, as he watched the redhead arch up into his teasing tan right hand. His left one gentle pushing Gaara’s hips back down, a show of dominance that the raccoon was forced to concede to.

Growling irritatedly, Gaara hissed as the blond gripped his cock again taking one long slow pull up his hard member, before letting go. His demon eyes amused and heated as his own voice rumbled lustily in his chest falling out between his lips to caress Gaara’s body with the resonating vibrations.

With your message Itachi, Kisame you will slip into Suna and take or kill the opponent. The kazekage is of no importance, do with him as you will, simply capture this enemy or kill him, decide on contact.” Wrinkling his nose, his piercings clicking softly together before he spoke again “Deidara you will take Tobi into the Snow country’s Ice Village for re-con and to be on hand, this is an unknown adversary so I except you all to tread with care.”
