Chapter 6
[[Hey everyone, sorry this update has taken forever. I'm having some trouble with later chapters so updates will be rather spur of the moment. Anywho, chapter 6.]]
"What do you see Hinata-san?"
Hinata was enlisted help hired by Kakashi. Okay, so he really hadn't hired her but he had asked her for some help. She had the eyes he needed to look inside bodies so, that's what she was doing and she had a blush so red it almost matched his odd eye.
"W-well Kakashi-san, it looks like a sack of some kind."
"Sack?"
"You know, like...like-" she paused, trying to think of something to compare it too, "Well, I don't know what to compare it too other than a form of uterus but not as complicated." She looked a little closer and started tracing lines with her finger. Kakashi watched, hands in his pockets and listened closely. "There are nine chakra paths to and from the sack. They seem to be connected to his heart, lungs and some of his more vital organs. I would guess thats how the...well whatever was in there, survived. It took his chakra and nutrients from his vital organs. He was probably very sick for a while." Her eyes traced up and she noticed the seal on Sasuke's neck.
"There is another path from that seal there," she pointed, "and it seems to be a main source of chakra power...but it's another color. Like Naruto's." Tilting her head to the side, she did another over of Sasuke's body and let her eyes return to normal. "That's all I can see Kakashi-san."
"Thank you for your help Hinata-san."
"You're welcome. Good day." She nodded and left the compound still blushing.
"Uhhg..." Kakashi looked down to see Sasuke returning to his senses.
"Welcome back Sasuke-kun."
"What did you do to me?"
"Oh I just hit you a little and you fell right to sleep!" There was a smile on Kakashi's face.
"Leave me alone Kakashi before I kill you."
"You could try." He took his hands out of his pockets long enough to say 'I'm right here' and then put them back in. Turning around he strode for the door. "I found out what I need to know. I think you should know, you talk in your sleep Sasuke-kun. It was rather helpful." He turned and waved. "Ja-ne!" and he was gone. He didn't even use the damn door. Grumbling something resembling a colorful curse, Sasuke rolled over and rubbed the back of his neck.
Sighing inwardly, Sasuke started to think of anything he could have said in his sleep. Nothing. He didn't talk in his sleep. Kakashi must have put something in his system while he was out and got the information he wanted. Damn that shinobi. Growling to himself, Sasuke stood up and tried to walk around, failing miserably and ending up on his backside. The sound was loud enough that someone came running and it just happened to be the man he'd left to babysit the girls.
"Are you alright Sasuke?"
"I'm fine Iruka-sensei." His former sensei walked in and helped him to his feet. Even if he hadn't wanted the help he needed it to be steady on anything less than his butt.
"I see Kakashi did a number on you." It was a statement Sasuke never thought he would hear come out of Iruka's mouth. The last he knew, he thought they were mortal enemies. So much for that theory. Helping set him back on the bed, Iruka looked over his former student and sighed. "Well whatever he did you're going to have to stay there until it wears off. The girls are fine although I don't know why they are still a big secret. I'm sure Hinata got a look around the house and saw them."
Sasuke did a double take at him. "Hinata was here?"
"Hai." Closing his eyes and reigning in the anger that wanted to spill out, Sasuke deepened his breathing and relaxed on the bed.
"How are they?"
"Happy, rolling around the room and laughing up a storm with Naruto making faces at them."
"Making faces?"
"Oh yes! You should see the way they coo and giggle at him! It's quite something." The way Iruka's face lit up sent his mind into a spiral. He wondered if Iruka would ever have kids and he wondered just when Naruto got so close to the girls. He supposed it was in the time he'd been staying with them. A slight frown marring his features, Sasuke rubbed his forehead.
"Why don't you get some rest Sasuke. The girls are in good hands." Patting Sasuke's hand, Iruka left the room quietly and headed back downstairs to three waiting children.
Naruto was making a face that had Aito laughing, kicking and reaching up to touch his whiskered cheek. Hikime was worried about rolling and when she succeeded, she started to cry because she couldn't get back over. Reaching over, Naruto righted her and she stopped her fuss. "Now that wasn't so hard was it? I can't wait until you two can walk! Or crawl at least. It will be so much fun won't it? Won't it you little-"
"Naruto?" Iruka was leaning on the living room door frame, arms across his chest and had a smile on his face. "Are you saying you want to chase around little terrors?"
"Terrors? Where did you get that?"
"From you."
"But I thought-"
"You were terrorizing everyone when you could walk. It was rather awful. Not to mention you were into everything you could be."
"I don't believe that." He looked back to Hikime who was attempting to roll but failing. He rolled her onto her stomach and she started to cry. Getting down face to face with her Naruto patted her diapered butt, "Oh don't make a fuss. You would have gotten here anyway." It didn't help so he just rolled her back over.
Iruka watched Naruto and sighed inwardly. He never would have though his former student good with children but here the blonde was, having a perfectly logical conversation with them...even if it was one sided. Taking a chair by the door, Iruka picked up a book laying on the floor next to his foot and looked at the cover.
"Parenting for the Inexperienced Parent."
"That's Sasuke's." Naruto didn't even bother looking up from the floor where he was staring at one very active Hikime. He looked over to see Aito making a face. "No! Not again!"
"What?"
"She's making the face."
"What face?"
"Just wait a minute." Naruto covered his nose with his shirt and looked to Iruka. It took a few moments but the smell permeated all the way over to the door and Iruka was soon covering his nose as well.
"I see. Here, I'll go change her."
"No, I got it." Naruto picked Aito up and held her at arms length away as he walked to the changing table. "Watch your nose Iruka-sensei. It's a bad one."
"So Naruto?"
"Hmm?"
"How long have you know about-" he pointed at the girls, "Them?"
"Since he was back."
"Why wasn't the rest of the village informed? Or at least the council?"
"Baa-chan said they weren't old enough to go through the sc-rut-iny."
"Ahh. Well, I guess I should keep it a secret that I know eh?"
"Maybe. I don't think it would hurt."
"Hm." Iruka flipped through the book and tilted it from side to side trying to figure out a picture. Obviously it was right side up but even though there was an explanation of it, he couldn't see what they were talking about.
It was a few hours later, after Iruka had left that the screaming started. Naruto had tried to cover his ears, tune it out and just plain ignore it but it didn't work. Growling something about evil, black haired shinobi, Naruto walked to Sasuke's room and opened the door a crack. There was Sasuke, sitting up in his bed, screaming "It hurts!" over and over again. There were a few "STOPS!" in there but they were lost to the echoing of the first statement. Slowly, Naruto crept into the room to make sure that Sasuke was alright.
As Naruto neared the bed, he realized that Sasuke was still asleep. That made him frown as he walked over and touched Sasuke's shoulder lightly. He knew he shouldn't have due to the last time he'd woken Sasuke up. It was the first and he thought it would be the last but the screaming had to stop. When Sasuke didn't stop, Naruto shook him lightly and before he could move out of the way, he was on the bed and under Sasuke. A blush as red as Iruka's crept up into Naruto's face as he started struggling to get away but was stuck. "Sasuke teme! LET ME UP!"
"Mm-nh..." He was still asleep! The screaming had stopped, Naruto was trapped and he was still asleep! How could someone sleep though all of that?!
"Sasuke teme! Wake up!" Naruto struggled more furiously when Sasuke seemed to still be asleep but stopped abruptly when he felt something poking his leg. The blush got brighter and he didn't know if he wanted to start screaming himself or start punching away at the sharingan users face. Opting for the less embarrassing route, Naruto pulled back his fist and aimed one right for Sasuke's jaw.
The punch connected and there was a cursing from the other side of the bed. Naruto scrambled up, the blush not once leaving his face and started shaking his fist. "WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT TEME?!"
"WHAT?! You punched me dobe!"
"YOU HAD ME TRAPPED ON THE BED!"
"I did not!" Sasuke stood, rubbing his jaw glaring a set of red daggers at the blonde.
"YOU DID TOO TEME!" Growing frustrated and knowing better, Naruto shook his head and stalked out of the room mumbling, "see if I help you again." He stopped to change his shirt and then walked out of the compound. There was only one place he wanted to be right now.
"Hehey! Naruto-chan!"
"Some pork ramen please."
"Coming right up." leaning against the counter, Naruto looked around the small ramen stand. He was shivering and thinking about what had happened earlier. Shaking his head to himself, tried to think of something to take his mind off of the incident when his ramen came.
"Itedakimasu." Breaking his chopsticks apart, Naruto dug into the bowl and groaned. This was definitely going to take his mind off of anything but his stomach for a while. He smiled into his bowl as he downed it in less than a minute. "Ahhh! Another!"
"Coming right up Naruto-chan!"
He was deep into his fourth bowl when Naruto looked over and noticed someone had joined him. Neji sat there looking at the empty bowls Naruto had gone through. "I thought you were going to stay at the hospital?"
"Sakura very politely put it that if I didn't leave her alone she would strangle me when she could move again." Naruto bellowed and Neji just looked at him.
"That's Sakura-chan for you! Ahaha..."
"Hm. So glad you find it funny Naruto-san." Neji looked back at the empty bowls and against his better judgment, ordered an all vegetable ramen for himself. When Naruto could hold a straight face, he looked at the new bowl of ramen that had been set in front of him and then back to Neji's. "I didn't know you ate ramen Neji."
"I don't."
"Then why are you?"
Neji looked to his bowl, then Naruto's empty ones and then to Naruto himself. "Let's just say I feel like it right now."
"Wow. You feel something? That's amazing!" Before he could get punched, Naruto started stuffing his face. Neji just sent a glare at Naruto that made the blonde shiver. He knew that look. It said that when he could, Neji would extract a horrible revenge. It usually involved water and the shut off of very important chakra points. Well, Naruto thought them very important anyway.
After bowl number five was done, Naruto patted his stomach. "One more and then I'm outta here."
"Alright Naruto-chan." Naruto looked over to Neji who was only half way done with his bowl of ramen and sighed. "You don't eat it right Neji."
Chewing the bite in his mouth, Neji looked to the blond who was shaking his head. He knew he would regret it, but he asked anyway.
"What, Naruto, is the right way to eat ramen?"
Eyes lighting up, Naruto went into an endless explanation that made Neji regret even thinking of asking. All of the blonde's babble boiled down to you had to slurp it down while it was still hot and it was evident that Neji's wasn't. When Neji offered him a taste to see if it was hot or not, Naruto all but turned green. It was enough to shut Naruto up and have him eat his last bowl of ramen, leaving Neji in peace.
When the bowl was gone, only minutes later, Naruto stood, payed for his meal and started walking away. "Tell Sakura-chan to hurry and get better. I'm bored out of my mind and need someone to spar with." Neji just nodded and went back to his ramen.
Strolling the town for a while, Naruto stopped at an apartment building and looked up to a specific window. The light was on so that meant someone was there. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, Naruto walked into the building and up to see Kakashi and Iruka. Coming to the door, he stopped and knocked. There was some shuffling on the other side of the wooden door and then it cracked open. Kakashi, face covered, was peeking out with one eye. The door opened wide to reveal a shirtless and very angry Iruka.
"Naruto-san!" Kakashi ushered him inside and shut the door. Iruka walked away and came back a few moments later with a shirt, arms crossed over his chest, blush spread across his face and with a glare so deadly pointed at Kakashi, Naruto didn't think the gray haired nin would make it the rest of the night.
Walking over to the blushing man across the room, Kakashi walked behind him and encircled the other in his arms. "Oh come on Iruka-kun! It's only Naruto." Pushing him away, Iruka swore under his breath and stomped on Kakashi's foot. Naruto had to put a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing as Kakashi yelped and hopped around, holding his injured foot.
"Hello Naruto." Iruka's voice was calm and polite but he knew that under that smiling face, Iruka was mad...very mad. Naruto had remembered many-a-time being the brunt of Iruka's evil imagination and for an instant, he pitied Kakashi...but it was very short lived.
"Hey Iruka." They nodded to each other and Naruto flopped down on the couch.
"What can I do for you tonight Naruto?" Sighing, Naruto wiped his face and looked at the only man he'd really ever considered family. "I was bored." Iruka scoffed and Kakashi chortled. Naruto smiled and leaned out of the way of Iruka's slapping hand. "No really! I came out because I was bored but then I decided to stop by. I saw the light on and didn't think it would be a problem but I interrupted something so, if you want me too I can leave..."
"Yes." Kakashi looked at him.
"No." Iruka's face won out because it promised punishment if Naruto left so soon. Naruto shrugged his shoulders at Kakashi who folded his arms across his chest and stalked off into the direction that was obviously the bedroom.
"Now what can I do for you Naruto?" Naurto just waved his hand.
"I honestly don't know Iruka-sensei." His voice seemed confused, sad almost.
"Naruto, are you alright?" Iruka put a gentle hand on the blonds shoulder but Naruto scooted away and nodded.
"Confused."
"About what?" Naruto looked at his former sensei and blushed. He didn't exactly know how to put it. How did you tell someone -who was gay no less- that a guy trapped you under him and then a hard on started poking your leg? Just the thought made him blush harder and hide his face in his hands. "Naruto?"
"Sasuke." His voice was a high pitched whisper. "It's about Sasuke."
"What about him?"
"He uh...well-" Naruto took a huge breath and just started to ramble on. "He started screaming and screaming. He sighed, having said all of that in one breath. Iruka looked stunned and both men heard a chuckling from behind the bedroom door. Iruka just glared at it.
"What was 'it'?" Naruto just groaned. It was going to be a long night.
