Naruto - Vampire Hunter

Phew, finally finished writing this. I swear when I was writing this chapter it was almost like it would never end.

Chapter 7


Naruto groaned as he fumbled around on Sai’s floor, where he had slept for the second night in a row, trying to find the source of the loud beeping that had startled him awake. He finally found the offending phone hiding inside one of his shoes and promptly shut off the alarm. Blue eyes squinted, trying to avoid the morning sunlight as much as possible, as they tried to make out the time. Nine-thirty

“Morning… slut.” Sai teased as he walked into the bedroom finishing off a slice of toast. The blond huffed.

“That’s rich coming from the biggest man-whore in America.” Naruto stuck his tongue out.

“For you, making-out with a guy in a bar is very slutty. I mean, when was the last time you got laid?” After Sasuke left last night Naruto had explained everything that had happened that day to his friend. Of course Sai had been more interested in Naruto being… ‘Molested’, as he had put it, than in his encounter with Sakura the crazy, stalker werewolf.

Naruto furrowed his eyebrows as his brain worked overtime to recall the last time he had had sex. Meanwhile Sai had gone back into the kitchen to fetch some coffee.

“See… you can’t even remember.” Sai walked back into the room. He knelt down and handed the blond a mug; extra milky with three sugars.

“So? I’d just rather wait ‘til I’m in a relationship.”

“Which will be when? Any guys… or girls that you’re interested in?” Their conversation last night had led Naruto to the conclusion that he was infact bi. Sai on the other hand had decided that his friend was just in a state of denial.

“Nope, I’m too busy with work right now.”

“What about Sasuke?” Naruto sprayed a mouthful of coffee over the floor. Good job I have wood flooring “So that’s a no?”

“He’s a jerk, why would I want to date him?”

“Umm, because he’s incredibly hot? And from what you described last night, he’s also a very, very good kisser.”

The blond’s cheeks blushed bright red at being reminded of the kiss. His cheeks weren’t the only place that blood was rushing too though. Feeling his member start to harden, Naruto decided that this would be a good time to end the conversation. “I’m gonna go shower, I gotta work soon.” He stood quickly; making sure the blanket was securely wrapped around him and made his way into the bathroom.

With the door shut firmly behind him Naruto allowed the blanket to fall to the ground. He slid off his tight, black boxers, the cloth snagging against his partially erect dick on the way down. Naruto looked down at ‘little Naruto’ and sighed. “You think so too, huh?”

After having gone home for a change of clothes Naruto made his way into work. Konohamaru stood waiting at the entrance to the building, he face palmed when the blond stepped out of his car wearing yet another orange shirt.

“Hey kid, ‘sup?”

“Tsunade wants to see us in her office.”

Naruto gulped. “Did she say what for?”

“Nope, just that it’s about the case we’re working on.”

The two of them walked down the long corridors leading towards the back of the building. Shizune sat, as usual, at the desk outside the boss’ office typing away. She paused momentarily to look up at the two young men who now stood before her and smiled.

“Morning boys. Go right in, Tsunade is waiting for you.”

“You first, kid.” Naruto snickered as he pushed a reluctant Konohamaru through the door that the employees had come to know as ‘the door to hell’.

“Oi brat! Stop fooling around and get yourselves sat down before I make you.” Naruto let go of the younger boy and quickly made his way to the seat nearest the door and furthest away from the short-tempered blonde. “Right, lets hear your report on the Sarutobi case so far.”

Naruto spoke first. “Ok, according to Sai, the vampire responsible is known as Orochimaru.”

“Sai?” Tsunade questioned. “You mean that idiot nephew of mine?”

“Yea, that Sai. Anyway he reckons this Orochimaru has killed before.”

“I looked into that.” Konohamaru reached into his backpack and pulled out a large file. He opened it up and placed the top sheet of paper on the desk in front of him. “Owner of Suna Industries, found murdered in his home several months ago. Crime scene was almost identical to the Sarutobi murder.” Tsunade went to open her mouth but was interrupted when the large file was placed in front of her. “And this is a list of all the similar murders I found, almost two-hundred of them. Dating back as far as the records go and spread out all across America.”

“My god... how has he gotten away with this many?” Tsunade flicked quickly through the pages. Naruto looked almost as horrified.

“Well the reports all say pretty much the same thing. No one has ever gotten a solid lead on Orochimaru.”

“What about the vampire community? We have better ties with them than any other state. If Orochimaru is really this big of a deal then surely someone must know something.” Tsunade leaned down to grab her bottle of sake from the floor. She took a large swig, not even bothering with a cup.

“They’re not speaking. It’s like they’re all afraid of him.”

Tsunade groaned and slumped back in her chair. She scowled at Naruto who sat there with a stupefied look on his face. “So… Naruto? I assume you’ve been doing something useful whilst your assistant did all this research?”

“Of course I have! I looked into that lead I got!”

“And how did that go?”

Naruto let out a long breath. “It was a dead end.”

“Remind me again why I keep you employed.”

“Because I’m so loveable and I kick vampire butt?” Konohamaru resisted the urge to snicker at the comment when he saw Tsunade about ready to pop a blood vessel in her forehead.

“NARUTO! If I don’t see some results soon I’ll have you on desk duty for a month! Now get out of my office and get to work!” Her fist slammed against the desk as Naruto retreated from the small office as quickly as he could.

“Damn scary hag.” Naruto muttered as he headed down the narrow corridor with his hands in his pockets. He had just about reached the exit when he heard his name being called.

“Naruto, wait up!” Konohamaru panted as he caught up to the blond. “You gonna go hunting for leads on Orochimaru?” The blond nodded. “Great, I’ll tag along… Tsunade ran out of sake just after you left, it’s gonna be hell in there for the next few hours.”

Naruto’s pout turned into a cheeky grin. “Sure, let’s go kid.”

“So where should we start looking?”

“We’ll start at the police station. Hopefully the forensics picked up something that will give us a clue.

As they made their way towards Naruto’s car neither of them noticed Sakura leaving the building shortly after them. Her jade eyes watched the car drive off as she flipped open her cell phone and pressed speed dial.

“We’re ready to begin the next phase.” She paused. “Yes the bait is set, and he’s heading straight for it.” After another short pause later and Sakura snapped the phone shut, placing it back in her pocket. “This is gonna be easier than I expected.”

That night the moon shone brightly, blanketing the city in it’s ethereal glow. Sasuke stood leaning against his motorbike, tapping his foot impatiently as he stared into the night sky. The sound of a nearby door opening and closing caught his attention. He turned his head slowly to see Sai making his way across the car park towards him.

“I only have fifteen minutes before I need to get back to work. What was so important that you couldn’t talk to me over the bar?”

“It’s about Naruto. What is he?”

Sai froze. “What do you mean?”

Sasuke pushed away from his bike and closed the distance between them. “You know exactly what I mean and if you want me to help him I need to know everything.”

Sai was torn between keeping a very important promise and protecting his friend.

“I assume he told you that Sakura used you as bait to gather information on him. Someone is after Naruto and Orochimaru is in town, that can’t be a coincidence.”

“Ok, look… I’ll tell you but only on two conditions. Firstly, you’re never to tell anyone, even Naruto can’t find out that you know. And second, you have to answer me one question. Agreed?”

“Hn. Fine, ask away.”

“What made you change your mind about helping Naruto?”

Sasuke turned his head away and sighed. “You remember how I told you about my first boyfriend, Haru?” The other raven nodded. “I remember the day we first met, the first time I looked into those eyes and they captured me instantly.”

Sai’s lips made a small ‘o’. “And the same happened when you met Naruto.” This time was Sasuke’s turn to nod.

“I watched Haru die. I watched the life be sucked out of those eyes whilst I lay there too scared to move.” Sasuke’s fists clenched tightly, making the skin around his knuckles even paler than usual. “For the longest time all I’ve felt is the need for revenge. I’ve hunted vampires since that day in the hopes of finally finding him and getting my revenge. Seeing Naruto reminded me of everything I once had and suddenly revenge isn’t enough, I need to regain what was taken from me.”

“So let me get this straight. You’re helping Naruto so he’ll go out with you?”

Sasuke glared at Sai. It was clear that Naruto wasn’t the only one missing a few brain cells. “I think Naruto’s stupidity is starting to rub off on you.” The raven sighed. “I’m helping him so that at the end of this he’ll still be alive for me to go out with. Naruto doesn’t seem like the type to give up on this and I wont sit back and do nothing whilst he gets himself killed.”

“Well don’t go getting your hopes up, it’ll be hard for you to win Naruto over.”

“If you’re planning on competing with me I could just kill you now.” Sasuke threatened. At this Sai broke out into laughter causing Sasuke’s eyebrow to twitch furiously.

“Me and Naruto, together? Oh god… that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.” Sai clapped Sasuke on the shoulder before pausing for a moment to catch his breath. “I’d love to get into bed with that hottie but honestly, we’re just good friends and that’s how I’d like to keep it. Besides, you know that’s not what I meant.”

“Hn, I answered your question, now answer mine. What is Naruto?”

“Can’t you tell?” Sai mocked.

“Werewolf?”

“Not quite.”

The raven pinched his eyebrows. “Were…tiger?”

“Colder.”

“Then I give up.” Sasuke shrugged.

“Have you ever heard of a Jinchuuriki?” Sasuke shook his head. “It’s an extremely rare form of the shape-shifter virus. The Jinchuuriki host doesn’t change form like a normal shape-shifter, or at least not completely. Apparently it differs for each host. In Naruto’s case his eyes change colour to blood red and his nails and teeth become more like claws and fangs.”

“When did it happen?”

“A year ago, when he was working the Zabuza case, I assume you know which one I mean.”

“I see. So Naruto is a werewolf who can’t fully change form.”

“Werefox actually.” Sasuke raised an eyebrow at this. “It was Zabuza’s accomplice, Haku, that infected him. The whisker-like scars on his face, that’s where it happened.”

“Anything else that I should know?”

“There are a couple of things. Even though he’s not a true shape-shifter he still gains some of their powers, increased strength, speed, stamina… that kind of stuff.”

“Werefox powers without having to turn furry? Sounds like a useful ability to me.”

Sai sighed. “It’s not that simple. When he starts to change form ‘the beast’ starts to take over. The angrier he gets the more he loses control of his actions.” Sai lifted his arm to look at the time. “I should really get back to work now, my break is almost over.”

“Ok, but do you have Naruto’s number on you? It’d be a pain to help him if I have to go through you every time I need to contact him.” Sasuke held out his phone. The text on the screen flashed, ‘Enter number for Moron’. Sai took the phone and quickly punched in Naruto’s number before handing it back. He turned and started to walk back towards the bar. After a few steps he stopped.

“Oh, I meant to tell you. Naruto called me just before you got here, they’ve got a possible forensics lead on Orochimaru. Some kind of red clay found at the crime scene that no one can explain.” With that Sai made his way back into the bar.

Sasuke’s eye widened. There’s no way Orochimaru would leave a clue behind accidentally. And if Orochimaru might be after Naruto for his abilities as a Jinchuuriki… Shit! It’s gotta be a trap.

The raven quickly scrolled down to ‘M’ on his phone and hit dial. Please pick-up Naruto did not pick-up and Sasuke was greeted by the voicemail. “Idiot, call me when you get this and don’t go looking for Orochimaru alone.” He hung up and quickly mounted his bike. With the phone tucked safely into his pocket Sasuke pulled his midnight blue helmet over his head and started the engine. The wheels skidded momentarily as Sasuke sped off into the night. There’s only one place with red clay in this area…

Sasuke to the rescue! I know some of you will be thinking by now, 'make them fuck already!' (I know because my inner pervert screams it constantly when I try writing) Well Naruto + Sasuke will definitely be doing some bonding in the near future, yay for smut.
