Chapter 07

Sasu likes Naruto... kind of. No, actually a lot. But why does 'Sasu' like Naruto? Since 'Sasu' is actually Sasuke and a guy. Sasu really is a guy, right?

Or if not, then Sasu actually 'is' a girl, and likes Naru... so then that's lesbian...? But Sasu and Sasuke are the same person; and Sasuke is a guy, so Sasu is also a guy, but in drag... So liking Naruto, is gay, and liking Naru is straight, which makes it right and the other wrong.

Or is Sasuke actually a girl and being with Naru is wrong because it's lesbian, and being with Naruto is okay because it's straight? No, that wasn't right either?

Sasuke had almost checked his pants to make sure he was still male; to try and work his confused brain functions out. Yes, Sasuke/Sasu is definitely male.

So Naru is definitely female and Naruto is definitely male; right? Hm... well he could always check their pants to be sure but... NO!!!

Sasuke could swear blood was flowing out of his ears from the hemorrhages on his brain he was causing by thinking about this too much and unable to find a logical conclusion.

Why did it have to be so confusing...?

`

"So do you like it?"

"Like it?! You butchered your hair!! What are you going to do next?! Dye it?!"

"Come on Neji, you know you think it looks sexy on me!"

"Naru, if you get plastic surgery I will kill you - you'll ruin your career like that!"

What, a mess this early in the morning? Sasu had barely walked in the door and already the studio was falling apart? Oh!

Well... that would be why...

"Sa~su~!" Naru whined, her eyes settling on the dark-eyed girl, and ran over to drape her arms around her. "You think my haircut looks sexy~ don't you~?!"

"It's short." Sasuke noted in surprise. What ever had possessed the model to get a haircut? Let alone that short!

"But it's sexy right! The guy at the stylist's place said that short cuts are all the rage now!" Naru squealed unhappily. "He said it looked super stylish and cute!"

"Naru, your fans likely liked you better with the pigtails!" Neji bit out in chagrin, "you had that womanly yet childishly adorable appeal; like a cross between a lost puppy, and a vicious minx.”

“With you hair as it was it was classic, stylish, and had appeal to both areas.” Neji explained, “Now, as you have said, we can only stick to the cute shots, if we use this hair!"

Neji threw down his papers and glared at Naru, who sulked and kept muttering about the guy at the hair place telling her it was a super sexy cut.

"Where's Ino?" Neji called, then finally noticed Sasu; "You! Go get a wig from Haku's dressing room down the hall! See if she's got a bright blond one."

Sasu darted off to acquire the requested item. The wig was a shade lighter towards platinum than Naruto's usually vibrant gold hair. The wig threw Naru’s tanned skin and black feather fluffed wear into stark relief in the flashing light of the cameras.

Neji still looked pissed, but he cooled off when Temari from the third floor arrived and they got a wig of a better color blond for Naruto to wear for the second shoot. Said second shoot consisting of the sunflower dress, blue gown, and sparkly pink bathing suit.

Sasu never meant to look too long. It never ceased to amaze how, uncurvy models could be. Naru was nearly flat - like a slim boy even. Her chest as usual was of little note; but her hips were practically nonexistent; her arms were well defined, actually so were her legs.

The girl had no curves - but there was no way she was anorexic either. He'd seen the way she ate at the smoothie shop before and at the aquarium.

If Naru ever decided to stop being such a girlie-girl, put on a baggy shirt and a pair of jeans she could even pass off as a boy. Actually, Sasu thought as ‘she’ considered it, wouldn’t Naru remind her of someone else she knew like that? Didn’t that guy also cut his hair recently?

Yeah but not that short.

Pert pink glossed lips pulled back in a dazzling smile, flash of white pearly teeth and joy sparkling through sapphire blue eyes. Even without a bodacious mature woman’s form the girl had a face that outshone the stars.

Her legs were thin and lithe, her arms were slim with slight muscular definition. Her petite chest offset fairly broad shoulders, golden skin that covered sinewy muscle; flat stomach. She moves in a swaggering walk that gave the impression of a casual strut.

Every move sending a ripple of motion all through her. Though plush lips still curled up in a feral grin. Eyes bright with mischief and affection that drowned Sasu instantly.

“Sasu? You’re drooling.” The girl said carelessly tossing her arms over the paler female’s shoulders, pulling her body snug against Sasu’s.

Waggling her hips suggestively against her, Sasu blushed instantly realizing that the blond was still wearing the bikini swimsuit. Naru’s grin widened and she laughed at Sasu’s reaction drawing back slightly to show off her barely covered body. “Like what you see?”

Taking her hand Naru dragged Sasu into the back with her, shooting the pale girl a wink; “It’s all yours; you want?”

“Not-, stop!” Sasu yanked her hand away once Naru had led them safely into the blond’s dressing room. Naru looked a bit sad when Sasu took back her hand, but brushed it off as she slid the next top over her head, a fluttery white cuirass of cloth embroidered with cranes.

“Why did you really cut your hair?” Sasu asked accusingly. There was no way Naru could get her hair cut if she didn’t want it. The girl was never so naïve; even though she might fool some Sasu knew from experience the girl was an absolute devious devil. “The real reason.”

“Real reason…” Naru pondered as she slipped into faded jeans and had Sasu fix the two belts; one white and one black that hung from her slender hips for the next shoot. The blond shrugged, “I wanted a change.”

“Don’t you dare tell me it doesn’t look good.” The girl looked over her shoulder to mock glare at Sasu. The dark-eyed female shook her head and snorted.

“You look like a boy.” She reported truthfully.

“Oh?” Naru asked grinning peevishly, “Because you don’t like boys?”

Sasu glared. Naru would know full well that ‘Sasu’ didn’t like boys. Since Naru, being the true devil that she was, had already found out the truth. Though thankfully she wasn’t sharing it with anyone – of course she was blackmailing him to date her whenever she felt like going out. “Idiot.” Sasu muttered.

Naru giggled, “Well why else would you dress in drag, Sasu~ke?”

“Right.” Sasu grit. Naru may know that he was in drag; but he was not about to tell her it was because his mother was bug-nuts insane.

Naru smiled and hugged him tightly, one hand slipped into his hair. The next moment she had pranced back out to the cameras. Sasu shivered slightly, his scalp tingling slightly where her hand had upset the strands. That girl could be such a tease…

Beneath the bright lights the girl posed and moved, and smiled; her own brilliance only complimented by the bright flood of lights from cameras and overhead bulbs and shutters. Sasu watched dark eyes taking everything in while the mind turned inward.

Concerning Sasu’s ‘cross dressing’ it was probably a very stupid reason. If he didn’t want to he should have been much more firm about it. But at this point, he couldn’t go back to being a guy yet.

No one he knew now would know him; he’d be starting all over again; it felt like he was in too deep. And Naru… who knew if she’d just let him go. Would she? If she did… that’d still hurt, if he meant so little to her. That he was just a momentary distraction to her.

No, he couldn’t back out now! Besides that he had obligations now. Although now, he probably could go ahead and become a guy again; but it would be giving up everything he’d already done. That’s right, if he’d wanted to quit, he should have done it earlier; but he didn’t. If he backed out now… it felt like he’d be losing something – something very important.

“Sasu! How was it?!”

Dark feathered collar on a satin coat fluffed at Sasu’s face as the blond returned again to press herself against him, holding his hand affectionately in her own. Blue eyes filled with something not entirely unlike adoration.

“Fine. You looked great out there,” was the stock reply Sasu gave, although it wasn’t completely and entirely untrue. Glancing down at their twined fingers Sasuke gave in to pondering again; come to think of it Naru had never clung like this to either Sakura or Ino… was the girl really a lesbian? Or had she sensed his masculinity somehow even before she found out the truth?

Come to think of the other girls where were Sakura and Ino? Sasuke hadn’t seen either of them really since Sakura’s parents passed away.

“So sorry we’re late!”

“Is there a shoot going on?”

“Oh good, they’re only on the second shoot…”

As if on some kind of magical que the two girls poked their heads into the studio. Neji glared; and with promises of docked pay and/or suspension the two girls bowed their heads respectfully and scurried off to help Sasu get Naru into the more complicated clothes.

There was a gown made entirely of peacock feathers; a jacked with 50 different belts along the waist and arms; and a pair of boots with sequined sides as well as gloves with the same general design. Very difficult to get on – who buys these clothes?!

“So, Sakura,” Naru started on her, “I haven’t seen you in a while? You been okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine!” the girl chirped cheerfully; “A lot of things changed though, but I’m alright. I’m doing pretty well actually.”

“You cut your hair too?” Sasu asked noticing the severely shortened length. It looked like Naru’s now! What was with all the girl’s getting their hair cut so they look like boys.

Sakura blushed startled, and her hand went instinctively to the short strands. Slim pale fingers gripped against the air, it seemed to bother her actually that her hair had been cut. Suddenly she grinned; “Well, yeah! I mean, it’s so cute!”

“Really? You think mine’s cute too, Sakura?” Naru asked brightly; pointing to her own short cut. The girl looked up and smiled kindly.

“Yeah, it’s really cute, Naru!” the girl told the blond, brushing the last piece of cloth into place. Naru beamed and stuck her head out to tell Neji she told him so – about her cut being cute. Neji didn’t care, but that didn’t stop Naru from making sure he was aware that Sakura thought her hair was cute now.

Glancing back over Sakura; she had relatively the same build as Naru; super thin with small breasts; obviously the face and figure was slightly different.

If Sakura wore a large shirt now, and put on a pair of jeans; and maybe slicked those side locks back, or tucked them behind her ears under a baseball cap… she could also pass for a boy.

Well could, except… what self-respecting guy would have pink hair?

“You know, Sakura,” Ino started, her mouth widening in a mischievous grin, “Like this, if we dressed you up; you could probably pass for a boy!”

Oh good, so Sasu wasn’t insane; not the only one thinking that these girl with short hair could pass for boys if they tried.

Sakura blushed darkly; “N-no way! I could never do something like that! I’d never make it!” She insisted flustered, “There’s no way I would ever pass for a boy! Be serious, Ino!”

Glancing over the other blond in the room, Sasu noted that even with short hair there was no way Ino could hide that huge rack. Well huge for her age, it would be normal size in another two years probably, but right now it stood out so much more than either Sakura’s or Naru’s.

“Sasu, your hair’s been short.” Ino noted. Then glancing back to Naru her grin widened. “This is so awesome. Now all the girls I hang with could pass for boys.”

Wait, what?

“You know what, you all should cross dress one day so I can introduce you guys as my boyfriends to those priss girls at the private school down the street who are always talking about their cute guy! You guys would be so much ‘cuter’ than them!”

“Ino!” Sakura whined, “Don’t joke about stuff like that! It’d be embarrassing anyway!”

“Yeah, I know!” Ino assured her friend, “Only in my dreams, right?”

‘Boyfriends’? Did Ino intend to say it in the plural? Probably – never knew the girl was Mormon; or maybe she’s just playing around. Girls are so weird.

“Aw, but Ino; they’d have figured me out!” Naru cooed as she walked in for the last part of the conversation; “There’s no way I’d pass for a boy! I’m just too feminine, you know?” the model struck a dramatic pose.

“True; you’re just such a girlie girl!” the other blond laughed.

“But girl’s aren’t all bad Ino!” Naru insisted, sauntering over to the girl; “And girls looks best next to other girls.”

Ino started giggling with Naru when the model put an arm around her shoulder and hiked her leg up on Ino’s hip. Sakura smiled shaking her head at their antics. Dark eyes watched in agitation.

“Just like guys look good with guys!” Ino prompted.

Naru cocked her head, touching on Ino’s cheek as the other girl played along putting her hands on Naru’s waist. “Well, just for you Ino,” she winked, “I’ll be your super-sexy girlie girl/guy.”

With a kiss to the air, Naru twirled away and Ino let her go; “That would be love~ly~ darl~ing~…” Ino drawled, fluttering her eyelashes at the blue-eyed fox.

Sasu glared as Naru wiggled her hips suggestively; and the girls broke out in laughter. They were flirting; but treating it like a joke. What the hell went through female’s heads anyway?! At least Sakura also looked vaguely uncomfortable about the whole exchange.

“Oh, come on you guys!” the pink-haired girl insisted stepping between the two. An action that Sasuke could have kissed her for. If he had to watch the blondes ogle each other anymore he was sure he’d wind up breaking something. What the hell was wrong with Naru today anyway?!

What got Sasu so pissed?

“Ino, Naru; you guys really shouldn’t joke about stuff like that,” Sakura told them reasonably; though mostly she was talking to Ino, “Right?”

“Right, sorry;” Ino said, hugging Sakura in apology, “We didn’t mean to offend you, or anyone.” She assured her friend, Sakura smiled weakly and nodded; accepting that, although she still seemed put out by the whole exchange.

Naru shot a flirtatious look at Sasu. Sasu ignored it; Naru pouted. Wondering, what crawled up the onyx-eyed girl’s butt?

“Hey Sasu, maybe we should cut our hair too?” Ino suggested.

Sasu frowned, “No way.”

Actually if Sasu’s hair got cut it would probably become a huge problem, since Sasuke’s hair if short enough and not jelled enough it starts to fluff out. The shape had been likened by bratty kids in kindergarten to the back end of a chicken.

Yes, that was correct. Sasuke’s hair, on occasion, if left to it’s own devices would start to resemble a chicken butt. However to bother the Uchiha on this subject would be akin to signing your own death papers; thus many have avoided bringing this subject up.

No Sasuke’s main concern was more the fact that he’d never pass as a girl if his hair started spiking up; and even if he did, he wouldn’t want to. What a blow to a man’s manliness; than just put on a shirt and skirt and his figure and hair and everything about him is already perfectly fit to pass for a female.

There would be something seriously wrong with the world when that was the case.

Of course Midori Uchiha was living proof that all was not quite right in the universe; but that never stopped things from happening; like the sun rising, and cereal production, and trees growing, and other stuff.

“Sasu? Hello?”

“What?” Sasuke snapped, still angry with the model for before.

The girl’s lower lip jutted out and blue eyes narrowed slightly as she pouted cutely at him. Well he wasn’t going to be suckered in by the cuteness! Not this time! “Come on! I wanna go out for a burger! You and me; come on, please?”

“Fine, just give me a minute to go change.” If it was a date; she had said she wanted him in boy’s clothes. Lovely; like the girl’s personal Barbie doll.

“No need,” the girl insisted, smiling again as she took Sasu’s arm, “I’m hungry now; so let’s just go.”

So Naru pulled Sasu out and hand in hand led ‘her’ down the street to where she wanted to go. “Where did Sakura and Ino run off to?” Sasu asked, puzzled that he didn’t catch the other girl’s leaving.

“Sakura took off already, didn’t say where she was going,” Naru shrugged, “I think Ino was heading over to the ice rink this evening to see Tenten and some friends. She asked if we wanted to go, I said we had plans.”

Naru shot him a grin, “She said to have fun; so stop being so sour, huh?” Naru asked falling back into step with Sasu and leaning on the paler ‘girl’s shoulder.

Sasu stiffened as he sensed people’s eyes boring into him from every direction on the street. Great; this was worse than walking with the model normally; now she was being public lesbian with him – even though it was really straight, Sasuke was just in drag-!

Ugh this was making his head hurt. He would sort out all these strange gay/lesbian/straight relations with him later. Thinking now as hurting his head too much.

Did this even count as a ‘date’ with Naru since he was still dressed as a girl? Whatever, sure, fine, okay… it didn’t matter anyway, probably. “This is it,” Naru said guiding them into the restaurant.

Sasu looked it over, it was clean anyway; looked like a friendly family kind of place; regular shakes and burgers. Red plush booth seats, and chairs with the curving wire frame and cushion for a seat.

Naru selected a booth and Sasu was allowed to stay within his mind attempting to patch up his headache for a few more moments before Naru started talking again.

“Hey, Sa~su~?”

“Sa~su~?”

“Hey Sasu. Hey Sasu. Hey Sasu.”

“For the love of all things good, what?” Sasuke glowered.

“I love you.”

“What?”

“No I mean it,” Naru started cracking up in laughter, “I love you.”

“Right.” Sasu stared intently at the table determined to ignore the stupid blond. She didn’t even really like him probably. She just flirted with whatever had legs. She’d probably flirt with Neji or Sakura given half the chance.

Where was the waiter or waitress? They weren’t so busy right now; shouldn’t someone be over here by now? At least to see about drinks?

“Sasu, are you upset?”

“No, why would I be upset?” Upset was probably an understatement; but Sasu couldn’t quite figure out why he was so perturbed; it was a really stupid reason. He shouldn’t let it affect him this much. But he didn’t mind putting Naru out in the cold. At least for now.

“Okay,” Naru frowned, “So what’s your favorite color?”

“What?”

“What’s your favorite color?” Naru asked.

“Black, I guess. It’s a good color; doesn’t go out of style. And it doesn’t look dirty right away.” Sasu mused.

“Not for clothes or something; just as a color.” Naru corrected.

“…” Sasuke had to think about this one briefly; a color? None of them? All of them? No he didn’t like most colors; a color he liked? “Blue. Probably… a dark blue.”

“I like orange and gold!” Naru declared.

“Orange? Like that light shade next to red?” Sasu asked trying to conceive why orange could possibly merit a favorite color.

“Nope. That annoying bright orange that makes everyone look at it because it’s just so ugly!” Naru grinned.

“Why?” Sasu asked, wondering why anyone would like a color that they acknowledge as ugly.

“Because out of all the colors it seems to demand the most attention.”

“And that makes sense for you since you love the spotlight; right?”

“Yes! I love it when people worship me! It’s what I live for!” Naru started dramatically fanning herself. Then grinned, leaning forward conspiratorially, “Do you like rock? Like the music? I like light rock and some alternative myself.”

“I like some rock; and mostly whatever’s on the radio…” Sasuke explained. He really wasn’t as much of a music listener as he could be.

It was taking the waiter/waitress forever to come take their order. What was with this?

“Aw! I need to take you to Virgin sometime.”

“What? Virgin?” Now why did that sound so nasty?

“Don’t worry,” Naru laughed, “It’s a music store; they also have dvd’s and games, but it’s got a really large selection of music. You have a CD player?”

“Yeah.”

“Then I should get you some to listen to; see if you like them.” the blond grinned at him. “I assume you like music?”

“I like it, it’s just…” Sasu scratched the back of ‘her’ head. “Never really thought about stuff like that; I mean there’s the radio so yeah.”

“CD’s are fun cause you can listen to a song you like when you want; not when the station decides to play them.” Naru explained. “I’ll have you listen to a few, see if you like them.”

Sasu nodded. Oh the server was finally here?

“Good evening; what can I get you to drink?”

Why did that voice sound so familiar?

Ah that would be why.

It was Sakura – only exactly as Sasuke had figured she’d look in boy’s clothes. She even had the baseball cap and her hair pulled back in the shortest pony-tail ever. The girl was sweating bullets but trying to smile through it all.

The nametag though said ‘Saku Noruha’.
