Chapter 8
“Are you going too come to bed, or are you just going to stand there?” Iruka began to blush as he realized he was staring at me
“Sorry”
“Iruka you’re just too cute” I sat up and pulled him over the edge into the couch, he landed on me with a gasp.
“When you’re told to go to bed, you have to go to bed” I mockingly joked
“Sorry, it’s just … we … and you’re still here”
“Of course I’m still here, it’s my home where else would I be?”
He lowered his head a deep crimson blush forming on his face I tilted up his head looking down in deep puppy dog eyes.
“Where else would I be, but here beside you?” I gently kissed his lips as he let out a sigh of relief.
“I was worried that … wouldn’t want me here”
“Of course I want you here. Who else is going to take those two home?” I motioned over to Sasuke and Naruto sleeping on my bed
“Oh” his gaze fell over to the two sleeping genins, a look of rejection forming on his face
“So I was just another … I feel so stupid” his lower lip began to tremble as his mind slowly worked through what had just happened
“Iruka you make it sound like I took advantage of you” I replied with mock offense
“Why did you say that … does this make you feel …” A silent tear fell down his cheek “What was I to you Kakashi?” he sobbed
“Just another fuckin conquest Iruka, is that what you want me to say?” I replied defensively “Iruka calm down you’re acting like I’m breaking up with you” I reached out to stroke his hair “Beside I wouldn’t break up like this”
“Really then how would you?” he shot back as he swatted my hand away from his hair
“I’m not sure, but if you give me a chance it will give me time to think of a way”
“What?” a confused stare forming
“I would like a chance of breaking up with you, but I’m sure you’ll tire of me first” I gave him a dopey smile “As I said before Iruka if you were a one night stand I wouldn’t be doing it now”
“Then … why didn’t you stop me?”
“Cause it was fun watching you look so vulnerable, it really makes me love you more”
“You bastard Kakashi” he dived into my arms knocking the wind out of me “You really are a …”
“Endearing and a loveable person?” I took him into a long hug feeling the warmth of his breath through my shirt.
“I really despise you sometime”
“And I always think of you Iruka” I began to stroke his hair again “You really need to stop being so insecure Iruka. At the first mention of me only wanting you here so that you could take those two snoring genins home, you automatically leapt to the conclusion you were a one nightstand” I laid back letting Iruka rest on my chest
“It’s just … you’re Kakashi the genius ninja … the son of the white fang … I’m just a lowly Chuinin teacher … I can’t understand why …”
“Because even geniuses need company” I stared up to the ceiling “Take Sasuke and Naruto, they are the complete opposite’s ones a loud mouth fool and the other a genius ninja. Why is it any different from two genins liking each other? We’re only human Iruka and we both have emotions that go beyond our abilities as ninja’s”
“How is it during the day you seem so … you’re not as cold as you make out to be Kakashi” I could feel him begin to draw circles on my chest
“I’m not cold I’m distant that’s the way I prefer it” I ran my hand through my wet hair “Nor am I going to let you into my life fully Iruka, so please don’t go get yourself under the impression that we’re gonna share our life stories” he stopped drawing on my chest
“I didn’t expect you to let me in fully, if you were you’d have taken off your mask” he shifted up to lay beside me “But having you laying here beside me is enough” he leaned in kissing me through my mask
“I hope eventually you would let me in a little Hatake” Iruka whispered as he fell asleep in my arms from exhaustion.
“Maybe some day Iruka-sensei” I whispered back as I closed my eyes letting the past 24 hrs disappear from my mind only caring about finally having Iruka beside me.
