A Little Chat Over Tea
It had been nearly a week since Team Azuma’s defeat of the two Akatsuki members and Naruto’s completion of his now Kinjutsu. Tensions continued to run high as news of the disappearance of other Jinchuuriki and Bijuu continued to flow into the Hokage’s office. Border patrols in both Fire Country and Wind Country were doubled due to the escalating threat that the remaining Akatsuki posed to the Jinchuuriki of both Nations. Unfortunately the blonde Sannin, these were not the only problems that she had to contend with at the moment. Since Raven’s “little” stunt at the last council meeting Heero Hiroku had proven to be a most annoying thorn in her side.
It seems to the poor Hokage that the Leader of the Hiroku Clan has now deemed it his personal mission to not only make his Clan’s life miserable but to also make her life a living hell until she ordered Raven’s arrest and publicly apologize for the Jounin’s “unacceptable” behavior during the meeting. His little tyraid might have seemed harmless enough in the beginning but do to the man’s sadistic and maniacal nature he exerted his full authority and control over his own clan in an attempt to force her hand.
Looking over the current roster of available shinobi for the daily mission requests Tsunade is unable to suppress her growl as she notices for the fifth day in a row that ALL Hiroku shinobi are unavailable for mission requests. As she looks at another paper on her desk she finds a note from Iruka at the Academy that all of the Hiroku students are also out sick for the fifth day in a row. “Damn it,” Tsunade grumbles to herself, “What is he playing at?”
“Hokage-sama,” Shizune says as she enters the office. “They’re here.”
“Send them in,” the Sannin tells her as she lays the reports back on her desk. As she looks up she can’t help but frown as all but one of Team Raven enter the room. “I see that Siefer is “unavailable” for today’s missions.”
“Hai,” Raven answers, his face once again hidden behind his mask making it impossible for anyone to discern what he’s thinking.
“Your father is taking this vendetta too far,” she tells the former Hiroku as she hands him the mission scroll. ‘Is it really bothering him so much that he’d go back to wearing the mask?’ she wonders silently. ‘If this doesn‘t end soon things will go from bad to worst and I‘ll have no choice but to give in to the asshole‘s demands.’ “You’re to report to the Aburame Compound and escort their representative to Suna for a meeting with one of the Clans there. After the meeting is completed you will then escort the client back home,” she informs them. “Any questions?”
“None,” Raven answers.
‘What is it with the one word answers?’ The blonde woman wonders. “Dismissed,” she tells them.

Squall and Rinoa met up with Kurino and Mitsuna and were chatting in a local teahouse. “I still can’t believe that Hiroku-sama would do something so despicable as to forbid his clan’s shinobi from participating in missions,” Mitsuna says. “How can anyone be that petty and dishonorable? Has he no shame?”
“Afraid not,” Squall answers before taking a sip of his drink. “He’s pissed off at Raven-sensei and is trying to force the Hokage to punish him since he no longer can.”
“Gaara-sama would never stand for such childishness,” Kurino tells them.
“And neither is Tsunade-sama,” Rinoa replies. “But she can’t do anything to stop it either,” she admits sadly.
“Raven-sensei blames himself,” Squall adds. “He’s taking it so hard that he went back to wearing his mask just so Hinata-sama doesn‘t see how much it‘s bothering him.”
“But can’t the Byakugan see through the mask?” Mitsuna asks the Hyuga.
“It can,” he answers her, “But she won’t. She loves him enough to respect his wishes.” He looks down and stares blankly into his drink. “This whole thing is tearing her up as well,” he tells them as his Hyuga mask fades for the moment. “I passed by her room the other night and heard her telling Neji-san that she blames herself for what’s happening. She believes it’s her fault that Raven-sensei and Hiroku-sama are at odds.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Kurino nearly yells. “How can she think that?”
“Raven-sensei was thrown out of the clan because he refused to stop seeing Hinata-chan,” Rinoa reminds him. “I can see how she’d blame herself but Siefer-baka said that the rift between Hiroku-sama and Raven-sensei started just after Hiroku-sama’s wife died.”
“We heard Raven-san’s sister say the same thing just after Raven-san and the others saved Gaara-sama,” Mitsuna says. “We were on guard duty outside the room while they were having dinner and we overheard her talking about what Hiroku-sama had put Raven-san through.”
“I remember,” Kurino says. “Hinata-sama was there too, which is why I can’t believe that she would blame herself for what Hiroku-sama did.”
“It’s a female thing,” Squall tells him, earning death glares from the two kunoichi at the table. “What?”
“Baka,” Rinoa growls as she stands up and lays some money on the table. “We should be heading back,” she tells him.
“Hai,” he agrees as she gets up and leaves the money for his order as well. “It was great seeing you both again,” he tells the two Sand-nin.

A/N: I know what you’re thinking… another boring filler and you’re right but I had to come up with someway to not only set things up for what I’ve got planned coming up between Raven and Heero and I thought it would be nice to give a few of my other characters a little face time. Don’t worry things will get more interesting REAL soon just hold on a little longer.
