Heart of a Fox

Chapter 8

Haishi Hyuga got a large surprise as he entered his daughters room. The demon brat was sitting with his daughter. He had heard the rumors that Hinata had a crush on the boy, but the rumors also said his daughter couldn't even bring herself to say three words to him without fainting. However, from what he could see, not only were they talking but by the look in their eyes he could tell this was no longer an nonreciprocating crush between two teammates. Though he could deal with the brat being on her team, this he could not abide by.

"Hello Father, nice to see you."

The Hyuga patriarch looked past his daughter with out saying a word, and glared at Naruto saying, "May I speak with my daughter alone?"

Naruto looked at Haishi "Sure," then turning to Hinata, "Listen, I'll be just outside if you need me. After you talk with your dad I'll see about getting you outta here, cause I wanna show you something," with that he kissed her on the cheek warranting her to flush ever so slightly, and her father's jaw to clench behind them. From there Naruto made his way past Haishi, and out the door.

Once the door closed Haishi turned to Hinata and said "What in Kami's name was that?!"

"Ummm..." Hinata muttered pulling her eyes from her father.

"Well what ever that was, I forbid you to see that demon brat again. He's only put you in danger since the two of you where put on the same team. This is it, I'm going to the Hokage and getting your konoichi status revoked, then you stay by my side until you are ready to take your rightful place as clan head."

"What?" Hinata uttered in shocked.

"No, Hinata this is not up to discussion. And that is final"

"NO! That is not it," Hinata snapped, with Naruto bursting through the door. "I placed my self in danger the day I became a shinobi, not Naruto. And I don't care what you say I love Naruto with all my heart and nothing you say will change that."

"This piece of scum isn't worthy of you. He is an orphan with no clan, no rank, and no chance of becoming anything more than a blemish on the face of the village. He is not worthy of you."

"Not worthy? Naruto is the son of the Fourth Hokage, he is a living sacrifice to this village, without his sacrifice this village would have been destroyed by the fox demon, if he isn't worthy to be with me then no one in the entire village is worthy."

"That is a lie, the Fourth wasn't even married. And anyway no man would do that to any to their own son?"

Naruto had heard enough

"That isn't a lie!" Naruto shouted, "Saying that's a lie is calling Lady Tsunade a liar. And there are two reasons why a man would do this to his own son. First of all he needed a newborn and couldn't ask any other family in the village to do what he couldn't do himself, and second my mother died giving birth to me and he knew the only way he could protect this village would kill him, leaving me with no one to protect me. So he modified the seal ever so slightly to allow the fox to heal me and give me access to his power when I need it. Before last night I thought Kyubi was nothing more than a curse, but now he is a friend and ally, and if you want I can show what kind of ally he can be."

[Damn straight] A smile pulled at Naruto's lips

In response Hiashi activated his byyakugan and shifted into a juken fighting stance,"I would like nothing more"

[Good, play time] Naruto was full on grinning evilly.

"Both of you, stop now!" both Hiashi and Naruto quickly stopped their staring match to see who had just shouted. It was Sakura standing in the doorway, "If the two of you want to break each other in half go right ahead. But if you continue this in my hospital I will personally knock the both of you into the next week before turning you both over to the Hokage. "Sakura was standing tall, her red dress replaced with a dark blue one and a white coat with the uchiha crest emblazoned on her shoulder, her fists clenched, obviously meaning every word she said.

[Spoil sport!] Naruto fought to keep a straight face at the kitsunes antics, at this point knowing Sakura would take it wrong at this moment.

"Sorry, Sakura I've been on edge over the last couple of days with everything I've learned and gone through." Naruto spoke with remorse in his voice, which quickly turned to venom as he spoke to the elder Hyuga, "We'll settle this later."

"Yes, later" Hiashi said coolly before turning to Hinata, "I expect you home as soon as you are released," and with that Hiashi left.
