Twins

Hi all, again sorry to be late, too much has been going on lately… Mainly a little meltdown with my 20 year ago diagnosed depression and a threat to take my child away because of it. However, I have had a major change since then in my life after discovering that the sweetener I told in place of sugar, may have had an impact on that. I am now a believer that it did, because since giving up Aspartame, I have improved in some many ways health wise. In everything except the flu that is, which I’ve been fighting for the past three weeks and still have not got rid of completely. I use a low GI sugar now, so if you are using a sweetener with this ingredient in it, stop! So I’m back to writing at last, though this isn’t much and It’s only had a spell check on it. I hoping to get a beta soon, so if you are one of those that offered to be one for me for this and the DBZ stories, please contact me, fyrbyrd074@yahoo.com.au please! I’m working on the other slowly. Like I said this is short, and there’s no smut, so I hope you like it anyway

The Turning Away continued….

Tsunade sat wishing she had a cup of sake. Her two assistants sat also holding the twins in their arms. There had been silence since she had taken them from Kakashi’s womb, he had been knocked out for the birth, then sown him up. Maki and Iruka had cleaned the two boys up.

“I’ll take them,” said Iruka. “I’ll take leave from the Academy to raise them. Everyone will think I’m taking in strays again, and in a sense they are, you know Kakashi won’t look after them. He’s never seen Masashi as it is.”

Tsunade looked over at him and nodded. The babies had been born with black hair, and like Masashi they both had a streak of silver at the forehead. She was not sure who the father was, it could be either of two in the Sound village who would have had access to Kakashi, she did suspect one over the other, but either way there would be problems. And either way, they would be strong in the future. Iruka had proven himself a good parent already, raising the twins would be harder, but she was sure he would be able to do it. She didn’t doubt that he would protect them as if they were his own.

“You’d best get things ready for them then,” she said getting to her feet and taking one of the boys from him. “They can stay here until I’m happy they will be fine, being two weeks early according to Kakashi’s calculations isn’t that bad, but I’ll want to make sure they are healthy before you take them. I’ll assign Maki here to come and see you every day to check on them.”

Iruka nodded and watched her take they baby back to her seat and look down at him. He walked over to where Kakashi lay sleeping. “And him?”

“I think it will take a few weeks for him to recover so he isn’t exactly going anywhere. But I think he will be glad that you have taken the babies.”

Again he nodded, not taking his eyes off of Kakashi. Then he hurried off to get his house ready for the twins. He was glad he had not tossed out a lot of Masashi’s things from when he was a baby, of course he would need twice as much now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Kakashi awoke to crying, the cry of a newborn. He had heard it once before after Akira had taken Masashi from him, but now there was another, one of the twins. He wondered what it was.

He heard movement and the child stopped it’s crying when he heard Maki take it in hand and begin to feed it. He closed his eyes and dozed off.

The next time he woke he could here two voices, Maki and Iruka. And he listened to their conversation.

“How are things going?” said Maki.

“I have the room ready for them, and Masashi’s all excited about having baby brothers.”

‘Boys. Twin boys.’

“Has he awoken yet”

“He’s been in and out of it. With his health being as it was he is very weak at the moment.”

“I can’t feel any chakra from him.”

“He needs to get his strength back and it will take some time like Tsunade said.”

“I want to ask him what to name the boys.”

“Do you think he will?”

“I hope so. He wasn’t around when I named our son.”

‘So she knows the true about Masashi.’

“When these two are fed why don’t you go and check on him.”

“Knowing him he’s probably listening to us right now.”

Kakashi grinned to himself. Iruka was too damned good at that.

About ten minutes later he heard the man come into his room, knowing the twins had been fed and changed.

“You are taking the boys?”

“I knew you were listening… Yes I’m taking them; I just had to adjust what I had for Masashi into double. I hadn’t cleared any of his baby stuff out. And I’ve also moved into a bigger apartment with Masashi anyway, all of that was in the spare room which is the babies’ room now. Masashi’s been in his own room for a while now.”

“What about your work?”

“I’m taking leave from the Academy.”

“Oh.”

“Kakashi, what do you want to name the boys?”

“As you said I was listening and I’ve decided. One will be Minato, the other Obito. Those names are special to me, but others will only see a child named after the fourth and there aren’t many that would remember my teammate.”

“The Uchiha that gave you your eye?”

“Trust you to know that.”

“I’ve learned a lot about you since you had my child. Masashi’s going to want to know one day who his mother was.”

It was like a slap in the face for Kakashi, he lowered his eye. “If I survive finding Kabuto I will be back, Iruka.”

“And the birth certificate? Masashi’s doesn’t have you name on it. What about these two, no mother and no father?”

“Yes, for now.”

“Do you want to see them?”

“No… I…”

Iruka shook his head and got up to leave. “Don’t worry. I will protect them, with my life.”

Kakashi’s eye widened at what Iruka had said an echo from the past.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsunade checked the two boys over. It had been over a week since they had been born and they were feeding well. “You can take them with you tomorrow Iruka.”

“Tomorrow?” he questioned.

She turned her eyes to Kakashi’s room, “Yes tomorrow they will be ready to go home with you.”

He saw where her eyes went and nodded, “He’s able to get up?” he asked quietly.” She again nodded. “Then I’ll be back bright and early.”

Iruka went and Tsunade turned to Maki. “You can release the babies to Iruka in the morning, I’ll be back to check on Kakashi tomorrow afternoon. Get some rest, he’ll be worse on his own than the two babies combined.”

Maki nodded after her as she left, and after a quick check on the babies who were sound asleep, she went off to make dinner for herself and her patient.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the dead of night and it was so quiet. He had no idea what had awoken him, but it made him want to get up and go and check the immediate area. He could tell that Maki was asleep. She slept in the room beside the babies, which was beside his own. He moved into the babies’ room, but there was nothing there. The children were asleep. Still he was alert to anything and moved closer and closer to the cradles which held the boys… his boys.

There was a lamp sitting nearby to see by and he stopped over one of the cradles and looked down at the wrapped up child there. ‘So tiny,’ he thought as he looked at the head of black down. Then he reached out and touched…

He had no idea how the child got into his arms but he put it back down once he realised he was holding it and hurried back to his bed without looking back.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Iruka arrived with two carriers the next morning to pick up the babies. As he was about to leave he crooked an eye at Maki, she smiled and nodded, which in turn made Iruka smile. He walked away with the children, “There’s hope yet, guys.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kakashi healed slowly, but there was one thing he could not avoid. The ache was returning as well. His strength was better, but he still did not need to get into any battles, he would come out the loser. Tsunade and Maki did not interest him; he needed a male, any male.

Finding clothes was a case of stealing from a clothes line; he had been told that his belongings had been stored, so he made his way to the storage facility. He found the boxes with his name on them, just tow of them, not much to his life. He wondered what had happened to Mr Ukki…

Dressed he was trying to decide on what to do next when he realised he was not alone.

“You know I haven’t realised you yet,” she said.

“I had to go now.”

“Go where? You still aren’t strong enough to go after Kabuto; he’d kill you the moment you got close.”

“It’s back… I need to go.”

“Again, where?”

He turned away from her, “Now you see what that bastard has done to me. I need to find someone to…”

“Fuck you, get you pregnant again. Come back to your place, I cannot take this from you, but I can do something to suppress it for a little while.”

He nodded, anything would be better than this.
