Ch. 8
Almost a week passed before Sasuke and Neji met again. Neji had been busy working and learning so that he would be able to take over his family’s company and Sasuke had tried to distract himself from missing the brunette—as much as he hated to admit: he was the king of denial—by working his part time job as a bar tender. He didn’t really need the money and the atmosphere pissed him off, especially those drunk wenches that always flirted with him, and the not-so-drunk ones. But he was good at mixing the drinks and it paid well. And the music they played was decent. Some of it he actually liked. He also didn’t have to work a rigorous or set schedule and he could distract himself. He particularly liked that part. He tried not to remember the way Neji looked while he had pleasured him, but those images always appeared in his mind whenever he closed his eyes. It was worst at night. Now he couldn’t sleep for an entirely different reason. And when he did sleep, his sheets were dirty in the morning.
Neji was enduring only slightly better than Sasuke was. He had been plenty distracted with his new position as upcoming CEO of the Hyuuga corporations. His uncle Hiashi made sure that his work was on task. But at nights, when he didn’t have proposals to go over, or files to memorize, his thoughts always strayed to the raven haired nymph that seemed to radiate lust and need. Yet Neji could see that it wasn’t just a physical need that the Uchiha needed to fulfill, it was something deeper. Neji wanted to fill that void he saw in the raven’s eyes, knowing that Sasuke wanted him to help. And he didn’t really think this was about Naruto anymore. Sasuke’s reactions to his kisses, his touches weren’t something that anyone could fake. And if he could, he deserved a Grammy. But Sasuke had felt so...alive when he had been in Neji’s arms, it couldn’t be something he had imagined. And that look the Uchiha had given him when he’d announced he was going to shower...
Neji didn’t consider himself a pervert, but right now he was having some very perverted thoughts about the Uchiha, and his body slick with water in the shower...having those lust filled eyes, arching his back as Neji pounded into him...Good thing it was a weekend and he was sitting at home with no one around. Granted, he lived alone, but those were technicalities he refused to acknowledge.
He’d wanted to give them both time to cool off, but it seemed that not even a whole week apart could diminish the lust induced haze they seemed to be under in Sasuke’s house. He thought about the raven constantly and he knew it wasn’t good for his health. He was getting erections in the most inopportune moments...usually while sitting in another boring meeting while he let his mind drift ... which inevitably led to thoughts of Sasuke. The way his pouty lips were so soft and pliant against his...the way his face flushed in the throes of passion...the way he arched, wanting, needing Neji to touch him...the way he screamed the brunette’s name—
‘Enough.’ He told himself fiercely, shaking his head to rid himself of thoughts of Sasuke.
He groaned as another part of him chuckled mockingly at him.
‘Oh, come on. You know you want him underneath you, screaming your name as you fuck him into the next time zone.’
‘If he wanted the same, then he would have called by now.’ He tried to reason with himself.
‘Not necessarily. Besides, you want it, why haven’t you called him?’ His consciousness countered.
‘It’s not that simple.’
‘Excuses. Just ‘cause you're seme doesn’t mean you have to be emotionally retarded.’
‘Enough!’ The Hyuuga berated himself. This was getting ridiculous. Not only was he conversing with himself and answering himself—but he was losing a battle with himself!
This could not go on any longer. Picking up his cell phone he stared at it, looking up Sasuke's number and dialed it with only a slight pause. Was he really going to do this?
Yes. He owed it to both of them. This relationship couldn’t be based on the physical only or it would crumble before they got to know each other better. So a date was in order. He closed his phone with a sigh. Sure, they were going to go on a date, but first he had to make some arrangements.
After those were done, he dialed Sasuke's number again only pausing slightly again before pressing talk.
The phone rang twice.
“Yes?” The Uchiha answered curtly.
“Sasuke? Is this a bad time?” Neji asked slightly wary and berated himself (he was doing that a lot lately) for calling without knowing if the other man was busy or not. It’s not as though he was supposed to know what Sasuke did—he wasn’t the man’s keeper. But it was a Friday night. Maybe the raven had gone out.
“Oh...hey Neji.” The raven’s voice stuttered as he tried to catch his breath. He’d been thinking about Neji constantly and the phone ringing at that specific moment seemed as though Neji had heard the raven calling for him.
“What are you doing tonight?” Neji asked, trying to seem nonchalant, even though his heart had started to beat faster.
“Nothing.” The Uchiha answered, wanted to shout what was going on through his head.
He couldn’t very well say, ‘well, if you came over, you could fuck me.’
He didn’t think the Hyuuga would like that.
“I was wondering if you’d like to go somewhere.” And it was true. He didn’t think he could invite the raven over without ravishing him, so he went with a safe suggestion.
“Hn. Where?”
Neji told him the place, a quiet restaurant where the food was great and the waiters weren’t so nosy. He particularly liked that place for that reason alone. He hated the way he was ogled and visually fucked whenever he walked by someone. Anywhere. But he wasn’t complaining when he saw Sasuke look at him like that. He liked it when the raven looked at him like he was a sex god- it just gave him more incentive to prove him right.
“At what time do you want to meet there?” Sasuke said, afraid of what he’d do if the brunette went to pick him up.
Ug! He hated this. There was just so much sexual tension and frustration!
‘That is it!’ The Uchiha thought annoyed. ‘When we get back from this date—it is a date, right?—we are going to get this out of our systems before something bad happens.’
Neji told him the time and directions on how to get there. He told him to dress casually.
He drove to the meeting place and was surprised when he stepped out of his car only to be ushered into Neji’s car.
“Isn’t this where we’re eating?” Sasuke asked perplexed as he saw the sushi restarant grow smaller and smaller as the car sped away.
“What kind of question is that? We’re driving away from it Sasuke.” Neji said as though speaking to a mentally challenged person. The Uchiha gave him a dead-panned look and slapped him across the arm in jest.
“So where are we going?” He asked, curious as to where he was being led. The perverted part of his brain suggested (rather willed it to be so) that Neji was taking him away to finally have his wicked way with him. But he was lucid enough to know, not even in his dreams.
Neji’s car kept getting further and further from the city, more trees growing here with a house sprinkled here and there. As they drove further, the houses kept getting further and further apart. The midday sun was giving the trees and almost unearthly glow, the trees so many beautiful shades of green that the raven was silenced in awe.
“You like it?” Neji said, referring to the scenery.
“It’s gorgeous.” The raven whispered in wonder.
“Uncle Hiashi owns a cabin out here and he lets me borrow it whenever I want. We’re going to a place close to it. Not too far. We want to be able to get home tonight.”
‘What’s the rush?’ Sasuke mentally asked, but instead said aloud,
“This place is incredible.” His tone an understatement of his reverence he felt.
“Are you taking me to your uncle’s cabin then?” A legitimate question.
“No.” An insufficient answer. But the brunette wasn’t giving him any more insight.
They arrived at a place near the river where a late picnic awaited them. Sasuke had no idea Neji could be so romantic. Their table sat in front of the river with an ornate dinner already laid out for two. Sasuke could only stare. But being his Uchiha self he couldn’t help but ask,
“What are we doing here?”
“We are here to talk.” Neji said in a tone that clearly said he was humoring the other.
“What about?”
“Us.”
