Hidden Love

Gaara woke up a few hours later and felt confused on to why there was a arm around him, opening his eyes he turned realizing it was his friend. "L-Lee!" He nearly yelled scaring the living day lights out of Cailey who fell off her scratching post and into Lee's backpack.

Lee jumped up scared by the yell then realized his arm was around his friend and he let go and slipped off the bed groaning. "Oww... w-why were you snuggling me?!" Lee yelled awkwardly then brought his voice down when he glanced at the clock to see it was about midnight.

Gaara blushed darker and sat up. "Y-You had your a-arm around me! D-Don't try putting all the blame on me!" The redhead stuttered and covered his mouth feeling extremely embarrassed. 'I should have moved to the floor when I had the chance! This is sooo awkward!'

Looking off to the side Lee turned red and fell silent. Now he was even more awkward and had no clue what to say back to Gaara. Shifting he rubbed his back and stood up stretching since his bottom now hurt.

Gaara stared down at the floor trying to ignore the weird feelings building up inside him. He glanced at Lee then blinked when the older male's backpack fell over and Cailey climbed out of it a few papers sticking to her fur. "Meeeow." The cat meowed angrily and stared up at her owner. "I...uh t-think I will g-go get something to e-eat.." Gaara muttered and got up carefully stepping around Lee and opening the bed room door.

Lee got the papers off of his mad cat carefully then quickly raced down the stairs after Gaara. "Shhh Gaara-kun... it is midnight.." He called out not wanting to wake up his father since they were supposed to be in bed, school being tomorrow and all. It was not very youthful being up so late and having to wake up early.

"Your being louder then me shut up." Gaara replied and sweat dropped a little when he walked into the kitchen. "Uh..it's ok to get food right? You're not gonna snap at me if I open your fridge?" He asked and blushed again thinking about how they had been laying up stairs. 'We were laying like couples do...gah I need to forgot about that!' He thought running a hand through his more messy then normal hair then tried to slip off his sweat shirt feeling he was sweating, he hissed out in pain though since he had tried to use his broken arm.

"No I do not mind..." Lee said and stopped walking a little, his eyes scanning over the redhead's body and he frowned moving forward and he gently pulled on Gaara's sweatshirt. "Why do you wear this..? It makes you look so big.." He complained but his eyes slid down to Gaara's butt which was perfectly curved in his black jeans. 'He would look way better with his curves than this giant sweat shirt..' His inner self thought and he turned red trying to push his thoughts away.

"People don't notice me when I have it on.." Gaara said and let out a relived sigh when the sweat shirt was finely off and straightened out his t-shirt which had slide up a little. "I don't look good in it so I don't get hit on..though since I don't wear it in my art class Riku figured out what I looked like so that didn't really work.." He said and stretched. "The sweat shirt works though, prove since you rarely noticed me through our whole freshman year." He added and felt a little awkward in his tight outfit in front of his old friend.

Lee found his hands moving out and he was about to rest them on the slim waist and feel but he regretted it immediately and pulled back coughing. "Um.. well I suppose that is a good thing. I do not really have to worry about stuff like that though.. but you are um.. well good looking.. so I guess a lot of people used to hit on you.." He commented and moved over getting them both out some tuna and bread for a snack.

Gaara blushed deeply and got confused wondering what Lee had been doing then rubbed his elbow. "I'm good l-looking?...You know you're not so bad yourself.." He replied and turned his head to the side. "A lot has changed about you...you got really freaking tall for one." He said a little playfully.

Lee turned red, 'He is not meaning anything by that.. push out his sexuality..' He found it a little hard to get his thoughts out of his head and he made them both tuna sandwiches. "Here.." He said softly and reached out holding the fish sandwich out to Gaara. "And um.. You got.. uh..." Lee kept his thoughts to himself. He was not about to tell Gaara he had become more feminine like.

"I got what? Oh thank you." Gaara said taking the sandwich and took a bite. "Mm I love tuna." He added and watched Cailey hop down the stairs then walked over to her owner, rubbing her head on his leg. 'So much has change yet...still kind of the same...I think I could really get used to this...spending time with Lee-kun again..' He thought feeling a little happier.

Lee smiled and got just a bit of tuna kneeling down giving it to his cat, "That is all you get.." He said softly and pet her then started eating his own sandwich. "Umm.. well you got more.. curvy.." Lee said motioning a bit with his hands.

Gaara blinked then blushed as he glanced down at himself. "Eh? Well I wasn't gonna stay a little stick forever!" He said getting embarrassed and reached into his pocket pulling out a large band aid. "Do you uh...mind putting this on my forehead? I need two hands to put it on..and tattoos are not allowed at school...good thing everyone thinks the ones around my eyes are eye liner." He muttered and couldn't help his eyes moving over Lee. 'He got really handsome...gah!' Cailey seemed to sense how awkward they were and meowed loudly.

Lee blinked and finished off his sandwich then put the band aid on Gaara's forehead. Finally the two fell back asleep upstairs this time now in the sleeping bags. The next morning both woke up and Lee was blushing dark pulling Gaara's shirt off. "G-Gaara-kun just hold still!"

"I a-am trying!! This is so a-awkward I hate this fucking cast!" Gaara said squirming around then took a step forward and gasped when he stepped on Cailey's tail making her yowl, he tripped trying to get away from the now pissed off cat and fell into Lee's chest knocking him back into the wall behind him. "G-Gomen Lee.." He said and froze when the door had opened. "Hey Lee I made panca-WHA?! WHAT IS GOING ON??" Gai yelled his jaw dropping.

Lee turned redder and dropped the redhead's shirt that he had finally gotten off and he blinked glancing down at the bare chested redhead leaning into him. "U-Uhh.. I-I...I was just helping Gaara-kun change.." He tried to explain and gently pushed on the redhead's chest just praying in his mind that Gaara would not make any noises as he did so getting the redhead to stand up straight.

Gaara made a small noise and turned red picking up Cailey and holding her to his chest trying to cover himself feeling extremely shy. Gai stared at the two for a moment then sweat dropped. "Yeah uh..sorry I will be down stairs when you're ready for school...be safe!" He said and shut the door going back down stairs.

"Be..saf- DAD!!" Lee yelled and covered his face now feeling so much more embarrassed. Then he glanced over and gulped. '...That noise.. gah.. he looks so.. so.. sexy.. Gahhh no do not think that!!' He thought and stood up grabbing Gaara's new shirt and moved over to him.

"T-That couldn't h-have been more a-awkward...s-sorry.." Gaara mumbled and blinked when Cailey lightly bit his nose. "Ow.." He set the cat down and tried hard to stop blushing as he looked up at Lee. "I s-sorry you h-have to h-help me I c-could call Naruto.." He said looking down not able to met his gaze.

"No.. it is ok.." Lee said and he started slipping on Gaara's shirt. But then he realized how close they had become and his breathing became a bit shallower. "Gaara-kun.." He said breathing a little bit and every part of his inner mind told him to lean in more, yet he couldn't find himself doing it, he just sat there lips mere inches from Gaara's.

Gaara felt his heart start to beat faster and he blushed even darker looking up into Lee's eyes. 'S-So close...' He set a hand on Lee's arm and leaned closer but then yelped when Cailey dug her claws into his leg. He pulled away and quickly turned around covering his mouth. 'W-Was I going to kiss him?!! W-What the h-hell is wrong with me I am d-dating Riku..and L-Lee is with Sakura...' "U-Uh l-let's get to s-school before we are l-late.." He stuttered and picked up his sweat shirt struggling a little but was finely able to pull it on.

Lee pulled away and turned around grabbing both of their backpacks. "Uh Yeah.. right.." Then he shooed Cailey away with his foot and after seeing Gaara was alright he walked down the stairs thinking to himself. 'I can not believe I was about to do that... I am dating Sakura.. think of Sakura..' He thought repeatedly yet a picture of Gaara being shy popped in his head and he blushed shaking his head trying to get the 'evil' thoughts out.

Gaara pulled on his boots then put on his hat, he took a moment to tug his hair under it then walked down stairs after Lee. "I think I need a haircut." He said trying hard not to think about what almost happened. They ate quickly then Gai drove them to school, Gaara got out and pulled his hood on, Gai reached back and put his arm in front of Lee to stop him before he got out. "Hey...keep a eye on him...his teachers tell me he gets in a lot of fights and he can't defend himself with a broken arm...do the youthful thing and help him out ok?" He said looking at his son waiting for his reply.

Lee felt a little guilty since he had not really preferred to get in a fight since being with Sakura, but he nodded understanding that he needed to protect his best friend. "I know Dad, Thanks," He said with a grin and a thumbs up then slipped out of the car. "I will take Gaara home in my car today okay?" He said and closed the door to the car before jogging to catch up with Gaara. Lee carried their bags for them as he smiled and started to walk to class with Gaara but a voice behind him stopped him for a second. Sakura.. she was calling him over to her, but he pushed the voice out for a moment and kept walking with Gaara.

Gaara glanced up at Lee then looked over his shoulder to see Sakura was running up to them. "Hey! Lee did you not hear me calling you?" She asked and set a hand on his shoulder then glared when she noticed Gaara. "Don't you have something freaky to do loser?" She said and Gaara blinked and carefully folded his arms. "Freaky? The freakiest thing I do is take pictures of my tarantula..wanna see?" He asked smirking and the pink haired girl shivered. "EW! Spiders are so gross!" She yelled.

Lee frowned a little and stopped looking at his girlfriend. "Sakura-chan.. I thought you did not mind him anymore.. is he not invited to the party anymore..?" Lee asked her obvious pain in his eyes from his girlfriend probably lying to him again. Unknown to Lee though Riku was rushing over not happy to see the girl in bright pink near his boyfriend. "Preps get away from him.." Riku growled out when he reached them and at first he didn't notice Gaara's cast only glaring at the pink haired girl. Lee he could get used to, not her.

Sakura blinked then fake smiled again. "It just takes awhile to get used to him." She said and Gaara pulled his sleeve down to hide his cast as he turned to look up at his boyfriend. "You better not ditch today." He said then looked around. "Where's Naruto?" He asked. Sakura leaned closer to Lee and looped her arms around his neck. "He was being a baka and got hurt." Sakura muttered.

"Of course I am not going to ditch.." Riku said and glared at Sakura then smirked leaning in and he started to kiss his boyfriend on the lips, allowing it to last awhile wanting to freak the pink haired girl into going away. Lee however felt an emotion from that kiss as well though. Pain. Lee felt a strong pain in his chest for no reason. Shrugging he suddenly wanted to slip his girlfriend's arms off of him. "Um.. Sakura-Chan... I love you I will talk to you later ok?" he kissed her hair but found himself not wanting it to be her there. 'Mind stop thinking.. he is just our friend...'

"Ew get a room and stop scaring me!" Sakura snapped and then looked up at Lee. "Ok..remember you still need to buy me something special!" She said and quickly left not wanting to see Riku and Gaara kissing. The redhead pulled back blushing faintly and didn't feel right with his boyfriend kissing him in front of Lee, he blinked when his cell phone rang and answered it. "Oh..Naruto I was just wondering where you were." He said then covered his phone for a moment. "I uh..got to get to class bye Riku..." He said stepping around his boyfriend and pushing on Lee's arm to get him to walk. "You wha...you broke your leg?!" Gaara yelled into his phone then fell silent as people looked at him.

Lee blinked and looked a little concerned to Gaara and they both started to rush to the theater.
