Part IX


Naruto

Neji closed hyes yes and finished explaining the details. When he opened them again they were focused on me with a disappointed gaze. I sighed under his heavy gaze. Man I didn't even know what put him in a bad mood, but I felt guilty for something. He set up practice times with ust I t I zoned them out. Like it mattered anyway. They always practict myt my house...er...pad yeah that's it. I wanted to know why Neji was giving me that look.

"I'll see you later Naruto...." Neji said that same disappointed edge in his voice. He left with a click of the door.

I turned to Sasuke. His eyes were evaluating me. I stepped toward him as he took a step back. "Look Sasuke, what happened happend. I don't blame you for feeling awkward now, but it was you that stressed the importance of my acting; however, I am not going to let that stand in the way of playing for those people. If you can't handle it I'll ask Neji to play your part."


"Naruto....Stop assuming I'm weak..." he snapped in a very Sasuke voice before stomping out after Ne

Sweet. My little flirtation with music wasn't going to be so short lived. Another knock roused me from my thoughts. I walked to the door to find none other than Umino-sensei there. He raised an eyebrow at my attire and then let himself in. Man this was the morning for visitors.


"Congratulations on winning Naruto. I have a surprise for you." He pulled an envelope from behind his back. "The winner got tickets to see O-nins, but also got these." My eyes widened at the package. "VIP passes. You're a very important person." He joked good-naturedly.


"WOW!!!" I jumped up and down holding my towel in place. "I can't believe I get to meet them!" I paused for a minute, "Nee Umino-sensei, your boyfriend is a pervert."


He flushed darkly. "Whatever do you mean by that Naruto-kun?" His eyes darted to the ground in embarassment.


"He came by the bookstore yesterday and bought a bunch of old trashy novels." I stated while curling my lips into a pout, "He also said something perverted..."

"I'm going to have to talk to him about that." then he covered him mouth.


"Ah-ha!!! I knew it. Neji-sama was right." I danced around and pointed at Umino. His blush darkened. "Nee....Umino-sensei..." I was suddenly serious. "It's not wrong to be with another man is it?" I stopped and sat in front of him on the floor. "I mean I hear teachers saying bad things all the time, and I don't think it is, so why do they say that stuff?"


Umino sighed. "Most people are scared of what's different. To them they see it as wrong, and are very mean and unaccepting of such things." He rustled my hair. "That's not anything you should worry about though Naruto." he stood up from the place he had taken on the couch, "Anyway, next time your band comes around for practice be sure to give them those. I wanted to give them to you first."


"I will Umino-sensei." I waved to him as he left.


Ji-san had given me the day off so that I could do homework or house work. I sighed and finally decided to get dressed. I rumaged through my closet and found suitable attire for cleaning, a pair of bright orange shorts and a sheer black shirt. Comfortable and easy to move in. I started out cleaning my kitchen because ramen cups had started piling up there. I hummed one of O-nins songs to myself as I worked. Getting those passes had already made my day better. My kitchen work went quickly, so I decided I'd go ahead and do my essentials shopping.


I found shopping to be a boring chore, especially since most of the people didn't like me. I sighed though, nothing was going to ruin my day. I walked everywhere, and lucky for me it wasn't raining today. I skipped reveling in my element. I loved the sunlight. I could spend hours just laying in it. Maybe that was a trait of Kyuubi. I was so busy enjoying the sunlight that I almost got hit by a rock. THanks to Kyuubi though I was able to dodge quickly enough.


"There he is!" A bunch of screaming voices yelled. "That's the one, the fag who won't leave Sasuke-kun alone!"


Oh boy didn't they get it? I knew that Sasuke claimed I wasn't his type, but I was almost sure that girls weren't his type either. I ran. That was the only thing I could do with a mob of angry Uchiha fangirls thundering after me. At one point their aim got extremely good and I was getting pegged by numerous projectile items. I dashed into an alley way and hid behind a few trashcans waiting for the herd to pass by.


"You really can be quitresoresome....."


Voices? I knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but who cares? That person sounded lazy. The next voice surprised me with its familiarity. Neji-sama? Oh now was I curious. I creeped closer to the sound.


"Shika you're lazy." Neji's voice sighed annoyance evident in it.


"Well your hormones tire me out...." the other voice said. There was a sound fairly reminescent of sheets rustling, "Besides, you know that we only do this for...." from what I could tell the other person was interrupted by Neji kissing him.


"You don't want commitment, it's too bothersome...." Neji was teasing, "I think this works out best for us." I heard the mattress squeak with their movement.


Oh my fucking god! I was eavesdropping on Neji and his boyfriend's pre-sex conversation. This was embarassing, but it also hurt. By just Hatake-sensei saying it, it could've been a joke, but now I had proof, especially from the sounds that were coming from the opened window. No chance for Naruto now. Ieredered my ears trying to zone out the noise coming from the apartment above me. Was that how it really was? No emotions.....I ran from the alley probably distracting their lovemaking, no not lovemaking......rutting. A couple of fucking dogs in heat. I sighed to myself.


"Calm down....He doesn't belong to you anyway...." I sighed again and lowered my head. "Not mine, but I still wanted a chance....ihh...I don't think I'll be able to look at him the same now." I started toward the store I had been trying to go to before I nearly got stampeded.

Needless to say I was tired and so not in the mood for practice today. Things were akward enough between me and Sasuke, and now they were going to be awkward between me and Neji. I sighed and prayed to whatever entity that this would not be any harder than neccessary. I ran a hand through my hair as I heard a knock at the door.

"Door's open!" I yelled, then heard the familiar footsteps of my band mates.

Neji handed me some music. I swiped it quickly and walked across the room gazing at the lyrics. "What is this song?" I frowned noticing the lines seemed vaguely familiar.


Neji sighed at me. "Sasuke found your old poetry when you left your bag with Umino. You left it open and it dumped out. We wrtoe you some music for the poem." Neji strummed a note on the bass. "Can we hear what it sounds like?"

I didn't know if I was angry or happy about this. The fact that they had rummaged around and use that, well not really, was upsetting, but that Neji had taken time within the day to make music up to it was amazing. I nodded slowly but frowned at him.


Sasuke started playing the guitar chords with minimal mistakes since he'd just got the final copy of the music too. I sang the words I knew. Words I'd written a few years ago when my situation was a lot worse than it was now. The music actually sounded pretty good, so we agreed to practice every night this week in preparation for our first gig. It was odd singing these words. They meant so much to me then and now here I was singing them and I was going to be singing them to other people.


After practice was finished Neji gave me the original paper back and pat me on the head for my performance, but I moved away. I looked up at his slightly confused expression with guilty eyes. He frowned softly at me. His eyes glimmered at me with a strange light as I backed away slightly while staring at the floor. He walked swiftly toward me and took my chin in his hand so that I was looking into his eyes.


"Why are you giving me these eyes Naruto? Does this have something to do with this morning?" he paused, "or does is have something to do with me?" He sat down in front of me still holding on to my chin. "Is it something that maybe you heard?" I tried to move back a bit but he shook his head. "You know the band can't function right if the singer is at odds with the players."


"I'm sorry Neji-sama, I didn't mean to.....I heard....I didn't mean to though...." I whimpered under his gaze.

"Oh, that?" He smirked and dropped his hands to rest in his lap. "I knew about that? Why is that bothering you?"


I blanched at him. "I didn't want to interrupt you and your boyfriend....I didn't even mean to hear it, but it was the only e I e I could hide from the Sasuke fangirls."


He chuckled at my distress. "Shikamaru is not my boyfriend, at least not in the context you are thinking."


"But Hatake-sensei said..."


"Shika and I are on a primarily physical relationship. He doesn't want a relationship; he claims they are too tiresome. We basically both go to eachother when we need to blow off steam and avoid people."

I sighed at him, that made me feel better....slightly, but I needed to know something. "Why couldn't you do that with me? I offered it to you? I was willing and still am."


"Naruto, you are still too young. That wouldn't be right." I looked at him with sad eyes. "Hey, don't feel bad...you made me have to make a surprise visit by his house the other night."


"I did?"


"As wrong as it sounds, it takes a lot of energy to not do things to you. If you were older then perhaps I'd take you up on your offer."


I jumped up. "Neji-sama, are you serious?!" he nodded at me then moved from the couch and went to grab his stuff.


"I'll make a deal with you Naruto....in a few years if you aren't with somebody.......and if you're of sound judgement.....then I'll take you up on that offer...but it's my call." He turned and left me staring after him.

I was sleeping restlessly again. I had hoped to have dreams about Neji since his proposition made me feel better about myself. Alas, no dreams of him came. I was dreaming about sand again. I gazed around me. Soft white sand created a bed in the middle of an oasis. I blearily rubbed my eyes and looked around. Oasis meant desert which probably meant Gaara was somewhere about. I looked up and found Gaara in the same attire from my last dream of him.


"Uzumaki Naruto...... Finish teaching me what you were teaching me... Tell my what it is you want......" He jumped down from the tree to land softly on the bed of ivory beside me.


His hand reached out for the white kimono I was wearing and pushed it aside. So it was another of these dreams. Maybe I secretly wanted to show Gaara how to caress some one properly because he seemed devoid of emotions. I pushed his hand away though.


"No Gaara-san....let me show you since last time I got pleasured...."


He eyed me warily before sitting down across from me. I smiled and set to work removing his desert attire. I climbed into his lap as the robes fell abandoned to the sand. My fingers traced gently over unflawed skin. Truly he had never been touched, which meant his lips were untouched too. I reached up and caressed his lips with my own. He gasped slightly, but allowed me to do so. His arms slowly with uncertainty came to rest on my back as I went to kiss at his neck. His cheeks flushed lightly at the unexpected response to the touch. I felt his body react beneath me, so I rubbed my own lightly against his to cause a sweet amount of friction. His eyes widened as I moved against him again. He was more innocent than anyone I knew in this manner. In an unsure motion his body thrusted back rubbing teasingly against my fevered skin. I didn't want to overwhelm him so I decided to save the actual sex for the next dream. Wait? could I do that? Could I control how the dream went? I was confused, but gave no thought to it as I rubbed my body against his repeatedly going faster and harder until we both came to climax.


I awoke with a stomach ache. Kyuubi was growling and on edge. "Che' damned fox.....Kyuubi what do you want......" I moaned tiredly while ignoring the current situation. I moved from thd, td, then my ears perked. Some one was outside my apartment. That's what Kyuubi was jumpy about. I moved away from my room and into the kitchen where I saw sand retreating back under the front doorway.

What the fuck? Was I still dreaming? Kyuubi told me to climb to the roof. Not questioning the fox for once I went out the back window and scaled the side borrowing Kyuubi's stealth for a bit. When I reached the top I almost fell back down. The dark figure rose and started toward me.


"Gaara-san?" I started surprised, "What are you doing in Konoha?"

A/N: I know boring chapter. Many congrats to RikuNghts for she was the first and I think only one to guess correctly who Neji's "boyfriend" was. There will be more explanation of that in the next chapter, this was just a filler chapter to give us more insight on Naru. Gaara's appearance in Konoha will be explained in the next chapter as well. Twilight Rose- Neji thinks that Naru didn't listen to him about being to young to give it away so he's slightly disappointed in him. Ah and him getting stuff on the side is because he doesn't want to succumb to Naru's charm. He feels it would be unfair to Naru. Haha Kakashi would be a funny boyfriend for Neji, but no. hmmm....climax......
