Entering the Village of the Hidden Wave
9. Entering the Village of the Hidden Wave
As they packed up the camp, Kankurou was distracted. He had chosen not to wear his telltale garb and was currently standing near his pack in just some cargo pants and a mesh shirt. His feet were in the customary sandals and his hair was not yet brushed. His puppet was oddly missing from his back.
Naruto walked over and stood near him talking to him quietly and no one could hear their words. The blond seemed satisfied and walked back to the others, smiling lightly and picking up his pack.
“So?” Neji asked.
“Hmm?” Naruto said.
“They want to know what’s bugging the sand man.” Sasuke supplied.
“Oh. He’s just worried about Gaara. I guess it really hit him this morning. If something can hold his brother, it must be pretty strong. I told him not to worry. We will get him out of that place. It was my promise.” And the others smiled at his confident face.
“Well, you do keep your promises.” Sasuke said, shaking his head.
“I got you back, I’ll get Gaara.” Naruto said, glaring at the Uchiha from close up. “It will probably be easier, too.”
“Dobe.” Was all Sasuke said.
As they entered the town, Sasuke walked up from behind the sand ninja and elbowed him gently.
Kankurou turned to him and glared.
“That is my job. You are supposed to be leering.” Sasuke said, returning the look. “It’s what all good perverts do, didn’t you know that?”
“What is your point, Uchiha?” he responded.
“I don’t have one, at least not to that comment. I wanted to tell you something. I wouldn’t want there to be any misunderstandings in the future.”
“So. What is it?” Kankurou asked.
“I will do anything I can to find and rescue Gaara. But if your brother touches my ass again, I will kill him, personally. I am not interested, and I told him so the last time. I am capable now, you know. If I master the last technique, I wouldn’t even need to blink before sending him to hell.” And the youngest surviving Uchiha dropped back to walk next to the Leader of their little team/family.
Kankurou snorted, wondering when his little brother had gotten the guts to approach the Uchiha on this. And, to have been familiar, in the way Sasuke had suggested. He guessed that being the Kazekage had been giving his baby brother a boost of confidence, and wondered if that was such a good thing.
Gaara had never before managed to convey his interests or needs to anyone other than himself, or Temari. But now, as Kankurou heard that the redhead had managed not only to confront Sasuke on his interest, but to do so in such an open and forward way, made the puppet master wonder what else the young man had done, and if that might be part of how he came to be in this mess in the first place.
Sasuke walked next to Shikamaru as they headed down one of the streets and looked around the small village.
“What was that about?” the shadow ninja asked.
“Personal,” was all he got in return.
“I didn’t know you did personal. So, how is the research on the Dainichi going?”
“I hit a snag. I have to figure out what it means to measure my outlook and then there is something about seeing the true light by way of the stars in my eyes. It is kinda weird.” He said.
“Hmmm, yeah. I don’t have any suggestions, but if I think of something I’ll let you know.” And they were silent.
Three more blocks and they came to the building that housed their contact in the Village.
Shiba was a mysterious man and as he led them into his house he was looking at them oddly.
Neji smiled in secret as he looked for the non-existent rest of their party.
“You have the papers?” Shikamaru asked.
“Well, yes. But, I was told there would be two men, two women and two children. I don’t see any women or children.” He said.
“That is our concern. You were only to get us the proper paperwork to get us in. I need to make sure it’s all in order.” And he was led to a desk and shown a folder. As Shikamaru went over the papers, the rest accepted the man’s hospitality and had some tea. His wife came in with a tray and set it on a low table.
“Okay. Here is our cover. Kankurou you are now Katsuki Ganjou, and your wife is Tsuki and your son in Taiyou. I am Tamamura Kachou and my wife is Otohime and my son is Ouji. Okay, so we have what we need. Let’s go find our luggage and catch our train.”
And they said their goodbyes and left the house of Shiba. The man watched them go and then turned to his wife.
“I don’t know how they are going to pull this off, but I wish them luck.”
Once they had their things, they went to a small hotel and rented two rooms for the night.
The train left early in the morning, so they would change just before they left the rooms. That night, things got a little strange.
“Um, we only have two beds.” Naruto said, looking over the room. “Who’s gonna double up?”
“You two do it,” Sasuke said, flopping down on the first bed.
“Hey, he’s your husband.” The blond insisted.
“And he’s your baby. You sleep with him!” Kankurou added.
“How is it that I am stuck with one of you?” the Uchiha argued.
“Cause you’re the Mommy. They always have to be the peacemakers.” Naruto answered.
“I am never having children!” Sasuke groused. “Flip a coin, I don’t care. Hell, flip the Dobe, that would work, too.” And he rolled over to leave them to the decision.
Sometime during the night the bed dipped and he was joined to spend the night and the body next to him never even touched him. The only sound was the even breathing as his bedmate fell to sleep.
In the morning he woke alone, finding the other two arranging their possessions back into the bags and cleaning up for the trip.
Sasuke rose and took his shower, returning to the room to pull on a simple pair of black pants with a plain black shirt. It was all he needed, as he would be spending most of his time in the transformed jutsu.
Naruto sat on the bed in a pair of boxers, smiling in a silly way.
“What Dobe?” Sasuke said.
“Just thinking. Okay, I’m gonna get this over with, so see ya.” And he began his jutsu. Sasuke stared at him, as he swiftly went through the signals and was soon laid on the bed, swimming in the boxers.
“Great!” Sasuke said, as Kankurou smirked. “I haven’t transformed. You change him.” He said.
“What are you afraid to diaper him as a man?” The sand ninja said, taunting him.
“No. I just have to do the transformation. You aren’t doing anything, so change him.”
“He said you wouldn’t do it.” Kankurou added.
“Fine.” Sasuke said, as he grabbed the ready covering and strapped it around the wiggling blond. Then he went to the smaller of the bags, the one he planned to carry on the train while the rest traveled in the storage area, and pulled out a bright orange baby shirt and a pair of dark blue pants. He lifted the little blue ninja sandals and shook his head. No, it would be a bad idea to use anything that made reference to ninja’s so instead he pulled out some white running shoes.
He carefully dressed the baby and flipped him over to crawl around the bed.
“Now, watch him so he doesn’t fall off.” He ordered the other as he prepared for his henge.
When they left the room to meet up with the others Sasuke was ready for travel in a mid-length beige skirt and a linen blouse that opened at the front and had a ruffled collar. His beige tailored jacket just screamed important person’s wife is here, keep your distance while whispering ain’t she sexy don’t you wish you could touch.
Not one to forgo fashion for comfort in this role, he was wearing matching beige pumps and carrying his small beige purse. His hair was held in a stylish French curl and pinned up with a decorative pin with a fancy and ‘not family’ designed fan adorning it. He had carefully applied some blush and a pale pink shade of lipstick before leaving the room.
Neji glared at him from where he sat with Shikamaru in a simple sundress and some dressy white sandals, his hair hanging limply around his shoulders. Sasuke handed Naruto to Kankurou as he dramatically reached out to greet the other transformed female in a hug with a light peck on the cheek.
“Why Otohime-chan. Don’t you look cute?” he said, as the Hyuuga reigned in his surprise.
“Thank you, Tsuki-chan. You look elegant. I am impressed.” Neji said, then under his breath he added. “But, I will have to return that favor later.”
“Come on Ganjou-san. We don’t want to miss our train. They are collecting the luggage right now.” Shikamaru said, indicating the stewards from the hotel that were carrying the suitcases down the stairs to the waiting cart to take them to the station.
:::I know, I didn't answer that all important question yet. Well, it will come. Oh, and if anyone missed it in the summary, this is a ????/Sasuke pairing. The boy is bottom, don't be disappointed.
More fun and mayhem to follow, keep reading.
vashta - Good catch, *pats puppy head* But, what did you figure out? Was it a hint or a tease. Could that have just been some carefree friendship? We shall have to wait and see. Yes, there will be Itachi in this and Kabuto also. Evil or just crazy, I love those guys. You are gonna love what Kabuto does. Enough of that now.
Neji.s_Soulmate - Love the name. And I found the review on My Little Choji-kun. No really, who is your favorite character????? As far as lessons from me? The only lesson I give anyone is - do it. If you want to write, pick up a pen, grab a typewriter or keyboard and start putting your words together. Then let people read them and see what they say. If they like it, write more. If they don't, find out why and write more. Well okay enough lessons.
BloodAndChocolate - No thank you, had that for lunch. Just kidding. Yep, cute is what I was going for. As far as Sasuke/Naruto, please see previous review response. I can tell you this: It will definitely be someone and Sasuke.
Okay, so whom would you like to see Kankurou with??? I can't say I am going to change what is already written, but maybe I'll give a side fic about him a thought. Tell me your choice for Kankurou/?????.
