Last time

Naruto was still thinking about all of these recent developments when he found himself in a training field. The place wasn’t very big but he wanted to be alone and it was secluded.

Now that he thought about it. He really was staying distant from everyone.

The story begins


Haku had seen him a couple of times in the street like Itachi but that was about it.
The reason why he was avoiding them was because of his plan. He had already talked to Kakashi about it and he had actually agreed to help Naruto. Kakashi was now probably relaying the info with the others that Naruto wanted to bring.

“Naruto-kun how nice to see you again.” A male voice said. Naruto turned around and saw Kabuto there. Now he could have some fun with this wako.

“So the test was to much for you?” Naruto said walking over to a bench.

“Oh no I just had very important family business to take care off.” Kabuto said walking over to the bench.

Naruto sat down and looked over the field to see that no one was there they were alone. He would play with Kabuto a little.

“What do you want?”

Kabuto smiled while pushing his glasses up.

“Nothing really I just wish I were stronger but doesn’t everyone? No I was just walking and spotted you. By the way where’s Sasuke-kun?” Kabuto said still standing.

For some reason when Naruto heard power the seal throbbed more.

“Sasuke is probably out training like everyone else.” Naruto said getting up.

He really didn’t feel like talking all of the sudden.

“Oh I see so there all training to become stronger. But why aren’t you training?”

Naruto turned and looked at him. He did not like where this conversation was going.

“I have no need to train. I’m strong enough for this stupid test.” Naruto said heatedly.

“So you don’t have friends to protect? Where they killed?” Kabuto said lazily.

Naruto was looking at Kabuto like he wanted to kill him. So that’s what you’re doing is it? Playing with my mind but why?

Naruto didn’t say anything to Kabuto and started to walk away when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

Naruto turned around and punched Kabuto right in the face sending him towards the ground hard. Kabuto got up and dusted himself off sneering at Naruto.

“You don’t know anything about friends!” Naruto said trying not to think about the plan that he would commit.

“Are you sure? Maybe you where to weak to help? I know he were when your friend died.” Kabuto said slowly.

“SHUT UP” Naruto shouted running at Kabuto.

Naruto brought his fist up in rage so Kabuto easily dodged it. Then Naruto tried to kick him but again Kabuto calmly blocked it.

“You are weak and scared.” Kabuto tainted him.

No I’m not weak and I will prove to everyone... Naruto thought trying to punch Kabuto again.

“Power is everything you know. It makes the world go around. The weak die while the strong live.” Kabuto said punching Naruto in the gut.

Naruto had skidded to a stop and fell down to his knees holding his head. Too many thoughts came to him at once. They where all pounding at his head and it hurt. Was he really that weak?

Kabuto came up to Naruto and said one more thing before he vanished and that was

Power.

After that humiliated defeat by four eyes, Naruto hadn’t really talked to anyone. He had stayed in his room and Haku along with everyone else was worried.

That’s why Haku was going to talk to him.

“Naruto I’m coming in.” Haku said opening the door.

Naruto was looking out the window just thinking. He had to many things going on in his mind.

“I don’t really want to talk about it Haku. It’s not just the defeat but it’s almost May 16.” Naruto said quietly.

Haku had forgotten about May 16. So that’s why he was acting like this. Very year Naruto would just leave and wouldn’t talk to anyone because Yuri had died on the 16th.

“ Naruto stop moping around. You now the finals are tomorrow.” Haku said walking up to Naruto.

“Yeah I know I’m just so mad at that Kabuto guy and at myself. I let myself become weak.” Naruto said turning to see Haku.

“Now that’s the Naruto I know stubborn and hot headed.” Haku laughed.

“By the way why did you guys forfeit the matches?” Naruto said standing up.

“We had more important things then that test. I found out from Kakashi that he told you everything. So are you staying?” Haku said walking towards the door.

“I really don’t know. I would like to stay with you guys but I know Itachi can’t stay here so no I don’t know right now.” Naruto said.

“Hey lets get some ramen!”

Before Haku could even protest he was dragged off with Naruto to the ramen stand.

The next day was finally it, the day that Uzumaki Naruto would pass the chuunin exam or so he let everyone believe.

Today was also the day that Itachi and the group where heading out to complete their mission while Naruto distracted the people at the finals. Naruto wasn’t really sure what the mission was because they wouldn’t tell him but he knew it was big.

“All right Naruto you know what to do. We will be watching half of it then when it’s about half time we leave. You know where to meet up after the exam so good luck and don’t get caught.” Itachi said.

“Yeah squirt we don’t want to have to bail you out.” Jin said.

Kira all of the sudden walked up to Naruto and kissed him on the cheek, “Be careful.” Then she turned and started to walk again. Naruto could only touch his cheek in shock.

“Hey Naruto I think Kira likes you.” Haku joked.

“Stop it already you guys.” Naruto said blushing.

“Well see you around.” Naruto said walking into the stadium.

Inside it was littered with people from everywhere. The arena itself was pretty big to. Naruto looked around and saw everyone except for Sasuke and Zaku.

Well Sasuke I hope you arrive in time Naruto thought looking at the top of the stadium. There was the Third Hokaga along with the sand leader. They had guards everywhere Naruto noticed. I wonder if they already know Itachi’s here?

“Hey Naruto man isn’t this troublesome.” Shikamaru said walking over.

“Yeah it is but what are you going to do about it.” Naruto laughed.

“Good luck Naruto, Shikamaru.” Sakura yelled all the way up in the seats.

Naruto just smiled and waved. Ino was also shouting at them and Shikamaru turned beat red. Oh I see so Ino and Shikamaru like each other. Naruto then looked at Gaara. He looked pretty calm but his eyes where still blood shot.

“So can you tell me how I’m going to fight.” Naruto said lazily.

“You don’t know? You’re fighting Neji.” Jack said walking up to Naruto with Lee.

“Really! I’m fighting Neji well that should be fun.” Naruto said happily.

“Yeah but I don’t know where Sasuke is.” Jack said.

“Don’t worry Sasuke won’t miss his match. He doesn’t like to lose from what I can tell.” Naruto said stretching.

Near the top the third was looking at all of the participants especially the blonde haired ninja. So you have returned to us Naruto, I hope you stay and not leave again. The third was thinking.

“So it’s every crowded today but I don’t see Sasuke anywhere. Do you know where he is?” The sand leader asked.

“No but I’m sure he will be here.” The third said.

“Yes because it would be a shame for him not to show up and fight Gaara. I am also interested in Naruto’s fight with the famous Neji.” He said looking at them.

In the standing people were getting peeved about not starting the exam yet.

“Hey Sakura where’s Sasuke-kun?” Ino said looking around.

“I don’t know he just disappeared from the hospital.” Sakura said quietly.

“Oh don’t worry I’m sure he’ll come.” Ino said hastily.

Hinata was looking at Naruto with a little blush. “Good luck Naruto-kun.” She whispered.

Back down at the pit. Naruto was trying not to look nervous. He had the plan all worked out but Sasuke wasn’t here yet and he was the first one to fight with Gaara.

“Damnit Sasuke you better be here and Kakashi have better not of screwed me.” Naruto said under his breath. He then looked at Gaara.

Genma walked up holding his hands out. “Ladies and gentlemen we are here today to witness the chunin exams. We will start in five minutes.” He said looking at the Hokage.

That’s when Naruto felt it. The wind started to blow around the pit. He knew Sasuke couldn’t help but show off. And true to their word Kakashi and Sasuke had just arrived.

“Yo sorry we are late you see there was this bug...” Kakashi kept rambling on while Sasuke and Naruto met each other across the pit.

“Hey Sasuke teme I thought you chickened out.” Naruto said casually looking around.

“No dobe I think it would be kind of fun to do something different for a change.” Sasuke said also looking around.

“Now that we have the rest of the participants lets begin the exam.” And with that everyone started to cheer and clap.

Sasuke looked at Gaara while Gaara did the same while they both walked towards each other. Naruto and the others walked up towards the holding room where they could see everything.

Naruto made sure he made eye contact with Haku and he indicated that they would soon strike. Naruto was getting a little uneasy. They were not supposed to do anything until the second half. He should of known they wouldn’t wait long.

“Now you may begin.” Genma said backing away.

Sasuke didn’t waste anytime and easily took out a kunai and through it. Gaara’s sand blocked the offending thing away but wasn’t prepared when Sasuke suddenly disappeared only to reappear right in front of Gaara to start smacking and actually hit him around. It was just like that Lee kids attacks.

The sand was to slow to block the attacks while Gaara basically got pounded from left to right.

Sasuke then backed off only to come back and start anew with the attack.

Naruto who was up in the room was watching with mild surprise. He didn’t know Sasuke could get that fast in so little of a time period.

Down at the pit Sasuke stopped and suddenly jumped out of the way so the spikes couldn’t strike him. Apparently Gaara got pissed and was now in a huge cocoon shielding himself. So he did the only thing that came to mind he ran at full speed up on the wall and started to gather chakra that would finish this fight for good.

Naruto looked over at Haku again but found no one there. So it’s time Naruto thought getting ready with a kunai in hand. He looked all around the stadium and noticed that people started to fall asleep so it looked like the snake bastard had begun to.

This was looking better then he thought it would. He allowed a small smile to slip threw before hopping on the rail beginning his decent on to the pit.

Sasuke stopped what he was doing and started to run after Naruto. Gaara on the other hand was having trouble keeping the beast at bay. His “Mother” wanted blood.

Before Genma who was the ref. could do anything a huge explosion went of in the East that triggered small explosions all over the village.

The hole Earth beneath them started to shake while the ninjas came out from their hiding place to fight the Leaf nins. Naruto looked around him to discover that the sand and the sound were the culprits.

The explosions were still going off in the distance with huge summoned animals attacking anything and everything. It looked like Itachi and the group were also fighting the sound but not for the Leafs benefit.

“Sasuke!” Naruto said when he got there. Behind him were Sakura and Jack.

“Ok is everyone here?” Naruto said looking around them. He could hardly see anything with the mist that Haku and Jin had created.

“The Hokage someone get up there!” Someone said in the background but Naruto choose to ignore it. All he needed now was the sand siblings.

Naruto looked back at Gaara to see that he had disappeared.

“Alright lets make this convincing. But first are you guys sure you want to do this.” Naruto said firmly.

“Yes dobe.” Sasuke said smirking. Everyone else nodded.

“Ok” Naruto said. He looked up one more time to where everyone else was fighting to see Kakashi and the other junins fight.

Naruto looked back to Sasuke it was now or never.

“Genma we are going after Gaara!” Sakura said while Naruto and the gang ran after him.

“Be careful you lot.” Genma managed to say while blocking shurikens and kunais.

Naruto was up in front with everyone training behind him. He knew where Itachi and the gang was and he also knew that Kabuto had a team try to catch them but they wouldn’t survive with all the traps they made in advance but if they did they would have to fight off the summons.

“It’s just up ahead everyone!” Naruto yelled back. Naruto turned around to make sure they were following and was surprised that Hinata was also following. Naruto looked back ahead with a smile on his face.

“NOW!” He shouted and everyone took out what was needed to pull this off.

Back at the stadium it was hectic. Everywhere you looked people was fighting. It was easy to see that the Leaf nins were winning especially when you have Jiraiya and Itachi’s team.

“Haku have you seen Naruto?” Jin said dodging another kunai. Haku just made a water jutsu that swept away at least twenty people.

“No I thought Itachi was looking after him.” Haku said then he spotted Kira and Itachi battling a snake summon. I guess not, Haku thought running over to help them.

Up in the stadium

“Kakashi my eternal rival I have taken out thirty!” Gai who looks exactly like Rock Lee shouted over the battle.

Kakashi just looked at him thinking why me? While knocking out another annoying pest.

“Gai I knocked out thirty-five.” Kakashi said simply smiling a little under the mask.

“NO you will not win.” Gai shouted running for more enemies while Kakashi just shock his head.

Back in the village Itachi and Kira had just defeated a snake summon.

“Itachi I can’t find Naruto.” Haku said low enough so only he could hear.

Itachi looked around now noticing that he couldn’t find any blonde heads in the raw.

“Kira I want to gather…” Itachi was saying before a huge explosion went off in the distance. It was so big the ground from the village shook. The winds picked up and blew some of the trees over with the shock wave that followed. Everyone stopped and looked at what had caused that.
