I'd give it freely

Hinata sipped her tea nervously. The tension in the
room was overbearing, but the young woman bit her
tongue. She looked to her cousin out of the corner
of her eye, his face was very stern and focused
closely to the table.

She then looked towards her fiance, who easily caught
her eye, sending a pink blush to her pale cheeks.
Before the pit of her stomach used to feel like it
was being sucked into a never ending abyss when he
would look at her the way he did. But some how it
was different now, her heart would quicken and she
felt less sad.

Perhaps she was becoming accustomed to him. "Hinata-san."
She looked up, her white eyes went wide at the
voice of Sasuke.

"Yes?" She asked in an almost whisper

"I know that you and I haven't spoken much about our
arrangement."

Hinata's eyes looked at the long haired jounin who
grit his teeth. "Yes..."

"Over this small amount of time we have done our best
to get to know each other."

Neji cleared his throat and abruptly stood from where he
kneeled. He bowed his head to Hinata and exited the
tea room and kneeled out side of the door. The long haired
chunnin bowed her head, she knew well that her cousin
hated Sasuke. She knew that it was her fault.

"Hinata-san?" Sasuke's voice brought her back to the conversation

"Sasuke-san?"

He said nothing until the girl met his gaze once more. When
he had her attention he did something she had never witnessed.
He smiled sweetly to her, "I wondered if you felt ready enough
to set a date for our ceremony."

Hinata embarrassed herself by nearly choking on the tea she
sipped on. "What?!" she gasped out

Sasuke's smile faded and a blank look came over his face. He
said nothing for a long while before speaking again. Hinata
looked at him biting her lip, she had not meant for reaction
to come out the way it did. Though he and she had spent more
time with one another she had forgotten that a marriage had
been the goal of the plan.

"Sasuke-san I..."

"No, no." He interrupted kindly,, surprising Hinata, "I
should not have asked. I may have just rushed this." he
sipped his tea without looking at her.

"I-I am sorry Sasuke-san. I did not mean..."

"Hinata please." He said sounding somewhat hurt, "We could
forget I even asked.

"But Sasuke-san." Hinata tried once more

"Stop." He said sternly, "Let us just for get this."

The pale eyed girl bit her lip again and fidgeted with
her fingers, things had gone so well for the both of them
she felt like such a fool for ruining the inevitable.
She looked to the door where her protective cousin sat,
nervous for what she was about to do.

She stood trying to be brave and walked over to the
dark nin's side. He stared at the table not wanting to
look up at her. She kneeled beside him closely causing
him to glance at her from the corner of his eye.
"Sasuke...kun"

His dark eyes locked with her ivory ones, his face
sternly set, but still questioning. "Yes?"

Hinata boldly reached out and took his hand into her
own and brought it into her lap. She looked down at
it noticing the scars that decorated his knuckles,
"Please forgive me. I did not mean to react the way
I did. I did not mean to offend you. I was simply
caught off guard." She looked at his face and noticed
that his eyes were practically were boring into her
face. "I....I-I have always wanted a spring wedding."
She stated with a small smile on her face.

A strong gust of wind came through the open door, it
seemed as angry as the man that sat outside. Hinata
bit her lip in worry, she was sure that this was the
best thing to do. Was she wrong?

Sasuke straightened up and held her hands, "If that will
make you happy, I will do my best to grant it to you."
Hinata's cheeks flushed a bright pink causing Sasuke
to smirk. He leaned in closer to her which made her
breathing to alter.

He stopped and stared at her lips. Hinata's breathing
quickened and quavered as she watched him intently,
"My lady..."

"S-s-sasuke" she whispered in response

"I want to devour you." He grazed his lips against the
corner of her mouth. Hinata's skin was a sudden wave
of goosebumps. "But I will not steal from you what
you are not ready to give."

The loud sound of Neji clearing his throat made Hinata
jump, "Hinata-sama, it is getting late. You said you wanted
to get an early sleep." His voice was almost poisonous.

"Y-yes! I did. Thank you Neji-niisan."

Sasuke and Hinata stood together and he embraced her shoulders
bringing her close and placing a kiss upon her bangs, "good
night Hinata."

She bowed her head and excused herself, walking past her cousin
and hurried to her room. Neji's white eyes watched her closely.

He stood remarkably still as the steps of the missing-nin
approached closer. "Will you do me the honor of announcing to
your uncle that Hinata and I have set the date for our wedding?"

Without a word Neji whirled around taking Sasuke by the collar and
slammed him against the wall, "Do not fool my cousin, traitor!
She is a good woman that does not need to suffer the likes of
you!"

Sasuke merely smirked at the colorless eyed jounin, "Now now,
cousin in law, you are wrong. I do not fool Hinata. I am
very truthful with her. I will do my best to take care of her."
He reached up taking a firm hold of the hand that held him
against the wall. "Be sure to let Ino know that as well."

Neji's brow furrowed and he released the ex-fugitive marching
away to his borrowed room, leaving the dark eyed man
standing with a smirk.
