morning

Deidara was up early. He had barely any sleep at all. It wasn't the newly healed wounds that bothered him, it was the images he got in his head, those that reminded himof what happened that night. He let out a small shudder. A bird began to sing outside, quietly chirping and trilling. Deidara sat by the window to watch. It was a pretty bird, with a reddish head and blue bits on the wings*. After a few minutes of song, the bird flew off, leaving a few feathers floating down to the ground. Deidara quickly made a small clay bird and let it settle onto the branch where the bird was. It didn't sing or chirp. Just flapped it's wings a bit and made the branch sag. It was ugly. he moved away from the window and started to boil some water. it was something to do, anyway. He would make tea. the clock ticked slowly. Deidara glanced at it. Half past four. It was still pretty early. There was a small shuffling coming from Sasori's room. His Danna was probably getting up. Deidara was right. A few minutes later, Sasori stumbled out of the room and headed towards the bathroom, making a few objects in his path topple over. Danna was not a morning person.

The water was boiling. Deidara poured it into a small teapot and chucked some tea leaves in. Tea was good in the morning. Sasori walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed, but still looking tired.

"Good morning, Sasori no Danna..." mumbled Deidara as he sat down and began to sip his tea.

"Morning." Sasori took a small sniff of the tea and grimaced. Deidara didn't know how to make it. Oh well. He wouldn't be drinking it anyway. Deidara got up and poured his into the sink.

"It didn't turn out right."

Sasori almost let out a grin as he watched Deidara measure out tea leaves. At least he was finding something to do. Leaving Deidara to his 'work', Sasori walked back into his room to work on the new puppet. As he walked past Deidara, his hand gently brushed against the boy's arm, but Deidara didn't notice. Even so, there was a strange sort of excitement welling up inside him. What if he had noticed. When he reached the door, Sasori glanced back. Deidara was back to drinking tea. And the puppet was waiting.
