Time for a change ...

hello people

okey sorry for leaving u guys hanging on this chapter, but it is done and it ended up being a very loooong one, but more for u to read.

but i have some sad new, well probably not sad news but yanno. hehe. I will be out of internet for about 3 weeks since i am going to
visit my auntie and uncle in spain and they don't have internet. but fair not i will be bringing the laptop with me and will be writing so when i get back hopefully i have at least a couple of chapters i can feed to my beta.

well just so it is known this chapter has not been betad yet, i will put it up again when it has. but thought i should at least leave u with something before i take my holiday leave.

and i want to thank everyone that has read the story so far and everybody that has commented, you all deserve a nice and big chocolate cake.

Shikamaru sat studying the magazine he had bought at the shop, there was a lot of information on how a date should behave. Apparently a date should open doors and pull out chairs when needed, buy flowers and pay for the dinner and any other things the date might require. Shikamaru scratched the back of his head a little, reading and understanding what the magazine was saying was all well and good, however two questions remained. Would Gaara like any of it? Just like himself and probably any guy out there he valued his pride and honour and somehow the pulling out chairs and door opening did not screamed male. The second and the last question was, could he afford it? The whole thing about paying for everything was rather harsh, he pulled out his wallet and opened it. He was sure if it had not been for the fact he had cleaned out his wallet a couple of days ago he would find a spider web or a moth flying out of it.

‘Ding’ the bell on the door moved diverting Shikamaru’s attention from the magazine to the door and looked right into Sasuke’s familiar face.

“Uchiha”

“Nara” Sasuk looked at the brunette and raised an eyebrow as he noticed what the brunette was reading. “Where is Naruto?” Sasuke asked after deciding not to ask what the brunette was doing.

“Out sparring with Gaara, he said to wait here if you were early or he was late.” Shikamaru said.

“Hn” Sasuke answered with his trademark ‘hn’ before deciding to wander around in the store, after Sasuke had agreed to take the blond out on a date the blond had insisted they had to go on a date today. Naruto’s eyes had sparkled with joy, it was like a kid at christmas. Sasuke had to wonder what kind of sheltered life the 3 of them had gotten because it seems that everything which was normal to him was something completely new and unfamiliar to them all although Naruto was probably the only one showing it more than the two others. It was strange really to see someone else that had a very similar traits as an Uchiha.

“Uhm Uchiha” Shikamaru called from where he was sitting, after some contemplating the brunette had decided to ask the raven about how to go on a date as he seem to know more about it than what was said in the magazine.

“What?” the raven replied.

“Could I ask you something?”

“Uhm sure …” Sasuke raised an eyebrow before placing the book he had taken out back in its place. “What is it?”

“Well …” Shikamaru was not sure how to word himself “Well … how do you take some out on a date? Like how do you behave and do stuff?”

“Stuff?” Sasuke came around the corner

“Yeah well you see I want to take Gaara out on a date, according to Naruto we sort of skipped a step in the whole process, which again I have no clue what is yet. No that is wrong I do know some, we did get the talk from Iruka. Anyways what I was wondering is how do you take a guy on a date? The magazine I bought gave me some advice on a date but mostly how to take a girl on a date, can you even pull out the chair for a guy or is it to un-masculine?” Shikamaru was quite surprised of himself, this was probably the first time he had voluntarily spoken for this length of time. Sasuke on the other hand was not sure what to say, sure he knew about dates but he to was fairly new on how to date a guy and a girl for that matter as Naruto was his first date ever.

“Well … hmm … find out what Gaara likes, try and make him feel special with out to much girlie stuff, maybe buy him some or watch a movie. To be fair I dunno much about a guy and dates, I am just taking Naruto to the park cous there is a carnival going on, Naruto seems to like stuff like that.” Sasuke on the other hand was not to font of carnivals as there was to many people and with that came to much noise and the carnival never had anything good to eat except sweet stuff and the raven hated sweet stuff.

“Ok well that makes sense” Shikamaru saw the logic in that and was a bit surprised that he had not thought of it himself, especially since logic was his strong point. “Well umm do you mind if I take Gaara to the carnival, non of us have have ever been to one before.”

“Sure, it is a public event” the raven said.

After the last statement the room was filled with a complete and awkward silence, Shikamaru really did not have much to say mainly because he was to lazy to care for any human interactions, although he did not mind cloud gazing with another person as long as they did not talk. Sasuke on the other had just did not like human interaction at all, in all his years alive the only one Sasuke found himself voluntarily hanging around was Neji. But that seemed to have change a little, Sasuke found himself wanting and needing to spend time with the blond and even thought he had not spent much time with Shikamaru and Gaara he found that even in this awkward silence he did not mind him.

“Haha Misa is the best” a familiar voice broke the silence followed by another familiar voice which was more like a grunt than anything else. Both Sasuke and Shikamaru looked in the direction of the two new arrivals.

“Sasuke! Guess what?” the blond ran to the raven and tossed himself around his neck grinning like the beautiful idiot he was. “I beat Gaara in sparring” Sasuke had to snicker, instead of giving him anytime to guess, not that he would anyway, the blond blurted it out grinning even wider. Gaara on the other hand did not seem to enjoy the, Sasuke bet that the blond had mentioned his win over the red head all the way from the training grounds.

“Such a graceful winner” Sasuke said placing a kiss on the blonds lips. Naruto lifted one eyebrow to the raven statement, he was not sure whether or not it was an insult or a compliment.

“Ready to go?” the raven asked, it was still early but Sasuke had other plans for the evening. He could not help but smirk when he though of what he had planned for him and the blond.

“What you smiling about?” the blond asked

“Nothing.” Sasuke quickly replied. The blond looked suspiciously on the raven but after 30 seconds he decided to let it slide, Sasuke was taking him to a carnival and Naruto could not wait, despite not knowing really what a carnival was.

“Okey lets go Sasuke” Naruto tugged in Sasuke’s sleeve. Sasuke nodded and said his goodbyes to the brunette and red head before following the blond out.

“So” Shikamaru said “Naruto beat you today” Gaara nodded without looking up from the book he had picked up. Shikamaru studied the other, the dark rings around had not always been around his eyes, Shikamaru knew that. They had appeared 10 years ago, due to some failed experiment on the boy, the red head was forced to meditate instead of sleep. The brunet let his eyes fall to the side, he felt guilty somehow, he knew it was not his fault but he wished there was something he could have done or do.

“Hey … uhm … you wanna go to the carnival?” the brunett asked

“Carnival?” Gaara looked up “What is that?”

“Well uhm …” Shikamaru scratched the back of his head. “I dunno really, Sasuke is taking Naruto there.”

“You want to follow them?” Gaara raised an eyebrow

“No no, what I mean is that we could go explore it together. We could make it a date.” Shikamaru said still scratching the back of his head.

As soon as they had reached the carnival Naruto had run a head of the raven, the lights, music and the activities fascinated the blond.

“Oh lets try this Sasuke” the blond erupted but quickly changed his mind as soon as he saw somethings else.

“And this”

“Oh wait this too” Naruto stopped and turned to Sasuke as he pointed towards a booth that had a long small bathtub with goldfish in it. Sasuke had to smile, not a smirk, a real smile. Something an Uchiha never did, but the blond was just so incredible cute and sexy all on the same time the way he was running around wide eyed, exploring his new surroundings.

“So dobe” Sasuke began as he came up to the blond “decided what to see first?”

“Oi dont call me that teme” Naruto huffed as he crossed his arms. If Sasuke could have seen himself he would probably pull his hair in frustration on how much a couple they really looked, although maybe not seeing as the blond had some affect on his emotional state, which might be for the better.

“Idunno where to start, there is so much I can’t decide” Naruto said as he leaned in to Sasuke’s chest.

“Well then, let’s start with this side then” the raven said and took the blond’s hand and guided him to the boot that seem to sell some cotton candy.

After several hours walking or rather dragging from Naruto’s part, the boys arrived at the last boot at the carnival. The blond kneeled down, placing his small souvenir and trinkets Sasuke had won for him or he had won himself on the different boots around.

“Ne Sasuke lets try get one of this” Naruto pointed at the fish swimming around in the small tub. Sasuke kneeled down next to the blond and watched how the blond’s blue eyes followed the different fish in fascination.

“Well are you just going to stare at them or are you going to try” the old lady asked the blond. Naruto looked up at the lady and grinned.

“Alright give me 4” Naruto handed the lady 2000 yen. However as easy at it might have looked Naruto did not succeed on any of his attempts and by the 4th one he was getting frustrated. He really did not get it why he could not do it, the blond had calculated all possible angles and yet he did not manage to get one single fish in a cup. When the 4th rice paper broke he deflated and began pouting. Sasuke chuckled before handing the older woman a 1000 yen.

“So which one you want dobe” the raven asked. He counted down until Naruto would begin objecting to his pet name.

“Oi teme stop calling me that …” Naruto glared at the raven but Sasuke could see the glare was not serious. “I want the yellow one” Sasuke turned to the tub filled with water and gold fishes and began looking for the yellow one, when he finally spotted it he had to smile. Naruto had picked the one fish that had only one colour, a golden sun coloured gold fish. It suited him, to own a fish in the same colour as him. The raven placed the cup in his left hand only half way into the water and guided the fish in question closer to the edge, Naruto had done the same however the gold fish had been to quick for him at times and to lively. Sasuke waited for the fish to calm down a little before he scooped it up in the cup on the first try.

“Wow you did it” Naruto tossed himself around Sasuke’s neck almost making the raven drop the cup with the fish in it. “Get another one … please?”

“Sure, which one this time”

“Uhmm …” Naruto let his eyes scan the tub again “… that one” Naruto pointed at a beautiful long tailed dark purple coloured fish. Sasuke nodded and fished it out just as he had done with the other and handed it to the elderly lady who in turn put it in another plastic bag filled with water.

“What now?” Naruto asked as he studied the two fish, they were some fascinating creatures.

“Let’s go back, the fish need to be put in an aquarium.” Sasuke said holding out his hand.

Well back at the temple Sasuke placed the two gold fishes on the desk along side all the stuff they had won or the blond had bought, Sasuke had to laugh when he remembered how the blond had gone completely over the moon of all the different things and to some it might have put a rather big hole in their wallet but to Sasuke he, to his surprise, did not care. He was happy to treat the blond.

“Sasuke will this do?” The blond entered the room with a round bowl filled with water

“Yeah that will do fine for now” Sasuke picked up the two bags with the fish in it and placed them in the water. Naruto watched the raven.

“Why you doing that” he asked.

“The fish need to get used to the water, we can let in to the water soon” the raven replied. Naruto bent down slightly and watched as the fish swam in their respective bag that floated in the water, it was fun to watch.

“You really liked the fish?” Sasuke asked after a couple of minutes watching the blond watching the fish.

“Yeah, they are very funny” Naruto grinned “i have heard of fish before and that we can eat fish but never really knew they could be used as pets. But I guess the little fish has to be used for something”

“Yeah I guess so” Sasuke watched Naruto come around and sit down next to him on the bed “so how come you know so little about life? I mean you know so little yet you have all these abilities to steal and fight. What kind of childhood did you have”

“Well … I dunno, to me it was rather normal. But then again I guess nothing I have been doing is normal” Naruto said

“Can you or rather will you tell me about yourself, your past?” Sasuke found it rather strange that he actually genuinely wanted to know what life Naruto had had, but his behaviour in the last weeks had been so un-Uchiha he really did not care he enjoyed the changes even if it was only noticeable to him.

“Well, I dunno.” Naruto was a bit unsure, he did not think it would be this hard to talk about. “It is a bit … I mean … if I tell you … when I tell you I just don’t put me in danger I put Gaara and Shikamaru in danger, even you.” Sasuk streched out his arm and placed his hand on the back of the blonds neck and began rubbing

“Nothing I can’t handle dobe” Naruto snorted at the comment ‘i hope so, I really hope so’ he though

“Besides who is going to know you told me, it is just the 2 of us here” Sasuke smiled as the blond looked at him.

“Okey, but just so you know there are some questions I can’t answer. I know you are gonna ask so you just have to live with what I can tell you.” The blond said

“Okey I can live with that for now” the raven said pulling the the blond closer. Naruto did not resist and gently placed his head on the raven’s lap and enjoyed the gentle stroking the other gave him.

“Well as you probably know we have lived a pretty non social life, we never left the facility until the day we broke out.”

“Facility? What kind of facility?” Sasuke asked

“Dunno but at this place ever since we can remember all we have ever done is train in different martial arts, different military strategies and puzzles. And then there were all the different test physically and mentally. It was not until Tsunade and Sandaime-san stole us away from the place we realised that our upbringing was not right.”

“What where you guys training for, did they tell you?” Sasuke asked.

“No, we were told nothing. Which is why we now are roaming the night looking for answers” the blond replied.

“Like the night in my fathers office. What does my father have to do with it?”

“I dunno really, we just found this list of names and we see what information they hold that’s all really.” Naruto said

“Did you find anything from my dad?” the raven asked.

“Hmm no not that I know of, Shikamaru is still analysing the usb though, it was a little bit harder to break than the others.”

“Well will you tell me if you find out something?” the raven asked. Naruto turned and looked up at Sasuke. “In fact maybe I can help you get some more information. Surprisingly I can get access to places rather easily.” Naruto smiled.

“Sure I will take it up with Shikamaru” the blond said, closing his eyes as the raven leaned in and kissed him on the lips.

“Good” Sasuke deepened the kiss.

After some minutes kissing Naruto found himself lying on the bed, underneath the raven and shirtless. How he had ended up underneath Sasuke he was not sure but in all honesty he really did not care, the ravens hands as they caressed his naked skin was to good.
