The sun was high in the sky when Sasuke and I woke on the hospital roof. We looked around, all was quiet, and Naruto and Sakura were nowhere to be seen. I groaned and sat up with a push. Sasuke blinked, smiled at me, picked me up and took me back to our room

Chapter 8

Sasuke put me in the hospital bed and tucked me in, kissing my forehead. He then took the chair I had used most of the previous day when I had healed his nose. In minutes I was asleep. When I woke up I heard two voices at the door, one was Sasuke but one made my blood go cold.

Itachi: (cold) foolish brother you can't defeat me give her to me!

Sasuke: NEVER! MIKA RUN!

I didn't need any more persuasion; I leapt out of bed and took off running hard. I sprinted home and slammed the door behind me, thankful it wasn't locked. I leaned my back against the door breathing hard, a cold sweat trickling down my back.

Me: (thinking) he's come for me I don't believe this!

With that thought in my head, I picked up his symbol, held it and broke down in tears. That was how Sasuke found me when he visited me after dark, curled up on the floor shivering and crying from fear.

Sasuke: (walks over) Mika (kneels and holds her tight) I'm so sorry!

Me: (bawls and cries) how did he come here? Why?

Sasuke picked me up, carried me over to the bed and sat with me as I cried into his chest. He cradled me in his arms and allowed me to lay on his broad chest, holding my hand.

Sasuke: (gently) Mika would you like me to stay tonight?

Me: (looks up with tear-filled eyes) can you? Please? I know you hate me. (Sniffles)

Sasuke: (stroking her forehead) of course I will stay and I don't hate you never think that! I was just surprised.

I smiled at Sasuke who smiled back and allowed me to get into my clean nightshirt while he waited outside the door. I pulled the sheets down off my bed and got it ready for another cold and bad night.

Sasuke: (amused) Mika are ok? Do you want me to stay in the same room as you?

Me: (blushes) no thanks Uchiha I'll be fine you can take the sofa

Sasuke nodded, walked to the sofa and caught the duvet and pillow I threw to him. Sasuke settled down on the sofa and was soon snoring asleep. I smiled at the young Uchiha's sleeping form; I then went to my room, got into bed and fell asleep myself.
