The Roles We Play

Okay, I feel it’s important to add this little informative piece to the story so there won’t be any
confusion as to the actual theme of the story and what it’s about because there seemed to be
complete chaos concerning “We Don’t Have To” and I don’t want to go there again.

The longest one shot I've written thus far lol. It's like 17 fucking pages.

The story is AU, taking place in modern times, with a modern spin on all the characters involved.
Set in a club. All characters are adults. Pairings are Naruto/Sasuke, Neji/Hinata, Itachi/Temari, and
Ino/Sakura.

One of the pairings is really weird and probably never heard of. The Itachi/Temari pairing came to
me out of nowhere. I guess I imagine Itachi needing a very strong woman emotionally and mentally.
And since Temari is one of the strongest women in the series, it kinda fit. I imagine her being a real
challenge. And I think Itachi, even though he's really nonchalant and dispassionate, would like a
challenge. I don't think he'd like a woman who'd just fall over all him (in other words a fangirl lol).

The Ino/Sakura pairing is also my first completed attempt at yuri (girl/girl love). (I have a Teen
Titans story with a Raven/Starfire pairing but the story isn't finished yet.) I just got to reading alot of
fanfics with that pairing one day, and thought their rivarly (much like Sasuke and Naruto's) makes
great love stories. So the fic got a Ino/Sakura pairing!

The story's mainly supposed to revolve around Ino,Temari, and Hinata being friends for years
(weird combination right?). Well if you take a look at the personalities, they all have traits and
qualities the others would need. So the friendship could really work and the fic goes into that.
Explaining each girl's faults and then their strengths.

Sakura comes into play because her and Ino were friends but (just like the series) when they both
started liking Sasuke, Sakura didn't want to be friends anymore (so Ino looks to Temari and Hinata
for strength). Now they've reconciled and Ino wants to reintroduce Sakura to the other two, hoping
everyone will make nice and they can all be great friends. But there are problems. Lots of problems.
Sakura disapproves of Hinata's impending marriage to Neji (you have to read to find out why!) and
Temari isn't fond of Sakura b/c of situations in the past.

Sasuke and Naruto come into play b/c they're friends with the 3 girls and happen to be in club
(which Naruto owns), where all the madness is taking place.

Itachi comes into play because of his on again/off again relationship with Temari. He's also at the
club.

The story is titled "The Roles We Play" because through out the story it's realized that each
character has a role to play in the life of the others. Ino is the one to ultimately realize this at the end,
when her and Sakura finally give into their feelings for each other. She realizes she doesn't need
Sakura to be friends with her other friends to become her lover. Everyone has a role to play.

So I hope this clears up any concerns and comments, so no one goes into the story blind.

Also do NOT tell me any character is OOC.

I don’t want to hear it.
