The setting used in this fanfic is fairly contemporary meaning the appearance of tvs, telephones, and phone books. The pairing in this fanfic will eventually be:TAYUYA X IRUKA

Not sure if some things are a little out of character for the characters or not. Let me know what you think of the story and dialog. The jokes are kinda lame so be forewarned.

Chapter One: The Sound Four’s Rapunzel
Saturday Night.....
Every time the word entered Tayuya’s mind it filled her with anger and frustration. It was the one period of the week that she actually longed for and despised at the same time. Continuously her efforts to have a night out on the town where violently thromped by her three fellow companions. They excluded her every weekend from their plans and forced her to remain behind inside the boring confines of the house.
“Give me your flute,” Sakon demanded.
Tayuya frowned, “Why? I don;’t plan on using it.”
Sakon rolled his eyes and stuffed the flute into the wicker chest in front of the couch.
“Trust me a little dammit,” she complained, flopping down on the couch beside Jiroubou.
“Watch it,” Jiroubou shouted as she knocked the bag of pretzels sitting on his lap to the floor.
“Darn it Tayuya,” Jiroubou complained as leaned forward to revover the food.
“You shouldn’t eat outside the kitchen fat ass.” Tayuya scolded.
Tayuya sank back into the cushions and propped her feet on to the wicker chest. Quietly she watched and waited as Sakon went upstairs to take his shower. She listened carefully for the sounds of the water pipes, eagerly wishing for the sound that would set her plan into motion.
Slowly, Tayuya got up from the couch and headed towards the hallway. She eyed the door that would bring her her freedom for the night and quickly approached it.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Kidoumaru demanded, catching her hand as it connected with the door handle. With one deft movement, he separated her fingers from the knob and knocked her against the wall.
"Dammit!" she swore, gritting her teeth as she pushed away from the wallpaper.
“Behave yourself,” he scolded.
“Outta the way!” Tayuya shouted, launching herself against the body that barred her exit.
It had gone on too much lately. Tonight she would not let them ruin her fun.
“MOVE!” she insisted, fiercely trying to pry one of his hands away from the door.
Kidoumaru merely smirked and added a third arm to cover the other two.
“Why don’t you make me,” he challenged.
“Fucker,” she cursed, punching his shoulder violently with her fist, “I SAID MOVE!”
Kidoumaru didn’t budge. Instead he produced an oozing drop of spider web from his mouth and spread it across the handle.
“Acting like a bitch isn’t intimidating me,” he explained to her.
“Piss off,” she answered, throwing another punch at him.
Kidoumaru avoided her swing and switch from defense to offensive. Tayuya let out a frustrated yelp as two of his powerful hands came to roughly rest upon her shoulders. They were then immediately joined by two more of hands that caught her elbows. Before she could shake his touch, Kidoumaru pinned her against the wall with a resounding thud
"FUCK IT!!" she hissed as the force of her upper body damaged a section of the wall.
Undaunted, Tayuya fought back against her six armed opponent, thrashing about wildly at the male hands that detained her. Kidoumaru applied more force, depressing the tough covering of skin and muscle that protected her shoulder bones and elbow joints with his strong fingers. She swatted and swung unsuccessfully with the lower parts of her body, narrowly missing the vulnerable parts of his form. Each struggling attempt she made to free herself enhanced the awkward pain surging into her shoulder blades and down her arms.
Kidoumaru laughed as her unhappy body rocked with a fervent anger. Tayuya became more unruly as she realized her efforts were producing few results. Her movements became more erratic and less deliberate. She attacked any part of Kidoumaru’s body that she could connect with, harming herself more than she harmed him.
"Jiroubou!" she finally called out in frustrated desperation.
Jiroubou reluctantly turned away from the game show and began to tune into the struggle unfolding in the hallway.
“I know you hear me you bastard! Get him the fuck off me!!,” she demanded.
Jiroubou sighed and lifted his massive body off the couch. He stretched and then scratched his stomach, lazily drawing out the minutes at the expense of Tayuya’s patience.
Tayuya, in the meantime, struggled on, convinced that she would soon have the upper hand with Jiroubou coming to her aid.
“Ignore this feisty bitch,” Kidoumaru called out to Jiroubou.
Jiroubou slowly plodded forward. Kidoumaru and Tayuya remained focused on one another, both intelligent enough to know not to take their eyes of an opponent.
Instead of entering the hallway, Jiroubou ignored them both and approached the tv. He crouched on the rug and rotated the volume dial until it smothered the sounds of the pair fighting.
Jiroubou sank back into the couch cushions.
“Jiroubou!” Tayuya yelled at the top of her lungs, “What the fuck are you doing?!”
“Hey! Shut-up!” Kidoumaru told her, cupping her mouth with one of his free hands.
Tayuya realized that Kidoumaru had made a major error in the heat of the moment. Immediately, she bit into the palm that covered her mout and tore into the fleshly surface with several ferocious swipe of her teeth.
“Arghh!” Kidoumaru yelped as the pain from the injury jolted him back.
Tayuya used his distraction as an opportunity to free herself. She shoved Kidoumaru hard and caused him to whirl back against the opposite side of the wall.
Rapidly, she set about the task of removing the spider webbing from the handle of the door.
“Tayuya! Kidoumaru! ,” Sakon’s voice said forcefully over the sounds of the television.
“Shit!” Tayuya murmured under her breath as she pulled the last of the webbing away.
There was no chance of fleeing when Sakon caught her. He was faster than her and had the smarts to know all the places she might try to hide. She tried once to head out on a Saturday by herself but he easily found her with the help of his brother Ukon. The beating he gave her for causing them all so much trouble still hurt even though a month or so had gone by. .
Tayuya released the handle and backed away slowly from the door. Sakon stood in the middle of the stairs watching her moments. He she noticed only a black and grey checkered towel separated his naked body from her curious eyes. In addition to the towel, Tayuya observed that his hair was still soaking wet and tiny beads of water coated his muscular form.
The expression on Sakon’s face was dark with a heavy tinge of annoyance and it became painfully obvious that their scuffle had interrupted the shower he was taking.
“Sakon.” Kidoumaru said, trying to regain his composure while nursing his wounded hand.
“Turn it down,” Sakon shouted to Jiroubou.
Jiroubou immediately complied with his wishes. The loud voices from the tv faded into oblivion.
“She was trying to do it again” Kidoumaru explained to Sakon.
“Tayuya,” Sakon began as he descended the stairs and approached her, “Saturday night is boy’s night out.”
“Yes but...” Tayuya protested.
“We’ve discussed it ,” he chided gently, “Last week you and I had an understanding about this.”
Tayuya bit her lip.
“Well,” Sakon demanded, “Answer me. What still isn’t clear?!”
Tayuya lowered her eyes, “I wanna go even if it IS that sort of place.”
“No chance. You’re horrible when you’re drunk,” Kidoumaru told her, “bitching and nagging, cussing...”
“I won’t drink,” she lied.
“ ‘the hell you won’t.” Kidoumaru shot back.
“You’re a liability when no one is watching you,” Sakon explained..
“I don’t need a babysitter,” she complained.
“Yeah right,” Kidoumaru remarked,”Who are you kidding with that attitude of yours.”
Sakon rested his arm on Tayuya’s sore shoulder and leaned closer to the side of her face, “The bottom line is Saturday night is about fun. I can’t fuck someone when you’re out there making noise and causing trouble.”
“Same with me,” Kidoumaru added.
“But...” Tayuya said.
“This place bothered you before. Tonight will be no different.” Sakon reminded her.
“Screw the fucking brothel then! Take us out for a round at the pub.” Tayuya demanded.
Kidoumaru patted his crotch, “Urges need more than a stiff drink and a cussing hussy.”
Tayuya smacked the wall beside Kidoumaru,
“Oh yeah?” she demanded.
“Hey. I’m getting hungry,” Jiroubou interrupted as he approached the spot where they were gathered, “We leaving soon?”
Kidoumaru smirked and rubbed the growing bulge in his own pants, “I’m getting pretty hungry myself. Let’s hurry it up.”
“I‘m not staying here again,” Tayuya aggressively told them , “Take me somewhere or else let me go out on my own!”
There was a slight pause before Sakon looked her directly in the eye,
“Wednesday are meant for women. Go out then and leave tonight for the men.”
Sakon turned to address Kidoumaru and Jiroubou.
“Keep an eye on her,” he requested as he returned to the stairs.
Ukon dangled slightly from Sakon’s back as he headed up the stairs. He disappeared into the upstairs rooms out of Tayuya’s view. Kidoumaru attempted to seize her arm but she snapped away from his grip and flopped on the floor.
“Leave me alone,” she growled, realizing that once more she had been defeated by the will of the other three sound ninjas.
“Damn Saturday Nights.”
************************
It did not take long before Sakon returned, fully dressed and ready to go out with the other male members of the Sound Four. Tayuya pouted by the door where Kidoumaru stood guard, her eye’s revealing a mood of anger and contempt. She had been excluded once more from the group.
Her Saturday night was ruined and it irritated her immensely.
“Hope you all die,” she muttered as Kidoumaru opened the door and stepped out into the early evening air. The had just began to drop out of the sky.
“Sorry Tayuya.” Jiroubou told her as he exited next.
Tayuya crossed her arms and stared at the wallpaper, “Dick head.”
Sakon crouched down and attempted to tilt her head towards him. She resisted his cologne drenched hands, tightening the muscles in her neck so she would not need to make eye contact with him.
“We’re sealing you in again. Behave,” he told her.
“Behave yourself,” she said under her breath.
Sakon paused before the door and placed his palm flat against the knob. Kidoumaru mimiced his hand position on the opposite side of the door.
“Ready?” Sakon asked.
Kidoumaru nodded.
The two concentrated for a moment, focusing their chakra to perform a special seal on the house. Sakon led the event, rapidly making signs with his hands. Kidoumaru joined in with two of his hands, rapidly matching the speed and symbols Sakon used. Within a few seconds, the two person seal had been completed.
Sakon closed the door once he was outside. “Don’t wait up,”
Tayuya heard the sounds of her three companions as they headed out of the driveway and left her behind.
The jutsu had activated immediately, trapping her within the boring house.
*************************
Confinement was the absolute worst punishment for rowdy person like Tayuya.
It absolutely drove her crazy.being all alone with only the meager comforts of home.
There was no one to hang with. No good tasting cold liquor. Not even someone to hear raunchy jokes from.
Like most Saturday night‘s, the first part of Tayuya’s ritual involved checking the house. She always started by trying the door. It was her hope that somehow one Saturday night there would be a mistake in the sealing jutsu. However, she knew that since her team, the Sound Four, were probably the best at Sealing based jutsus the chsance of such an occurance would be very unlikely.
Nevertheless, Tayuya started by twisting the knob back and forth forcefully. Her frustration steadily increased and she ended the examination by kicking the door until she made her toes sore.
Somewhere between her search of the door and the windows, Tayuya managed to locate a more than half empty bottle of rum. She began to take interspersed swigs of it as she moved about the house, violently trying to smash the windows in the hopes that one would provide her with an escape. The glass however remained solid because of the seal’s nature and refused to collapse even under her brutal force.
In a final fit of rage, Tayuya burst into Sakon’s bedroom and pounded on the panes of his French door that led onto the balcony. When this door did not budge, she threw the empty shatterproof bottle of rum at it and turned around looking for other objects to vent her anger upon.
It did not take long for her to decide to target Sakon’s bed. The handsome high thread count sheets and satin comforter resting so neatly begged to suffer her wraith. She tossed all of his clean bedding on to the carpet and then stomped it with her bare feet. Finding that this was not nearly enough to sooth her frustration, she slid the closet door open and deposited all of his clothing into a giant heap in the middle of the floor. Then she planted
herself on top of that heap and sat cross legged to bitch about her miserable fate.
“Damn this body,” she hissed, slapping her hand against her taut right breast,“They use gender as an excuse to exclude me.”
“It’s not right,” she said, pulling on the fabric of one of Sakon’s shirts.
“I’m a member of the group too even if I do got boobs.”
She tore a sleeve off of the shirt in her hand and started ripping it into smaller pieces.
“Liability my ass.” she swore, “I don’t have an attitude and I don’t need people looking after me!”
Tayuya separated the fabric sleeves off a different shirt and then moved on to a recently worn pair of pants.
“If sex is what they’re looking for, I’ll give it to um if they’re that desperate for it” she complained as she rubbed her hand over the crotch of the pants.
“Well maybe not that asshole Kidoumaru or lazy Jiroubou but I would fuck Sakon...”
Her groping hands now began to feel a small and strange circular object inside the pants. She slid her hand into the pocket and emerged with the questionable object resting between two of her fingers.
“Condom?” she asked herself, recognizing not the item but the word that was printed on the wrapper.
A dark glare went over her face as she looked at the unexpected treasure she had plucked from Sakon’s pants. Obviously he had been enjoying his Saturday nights lately.
“I’m not even used goods like those stupid tramps they hang out with at that trashy club,” she shouted, squeezing the condom in her fist, “ My Saturday nights blow!”
Annoyed , Tayuya tossed the unused condom at the french door. She watched it bounce off the glass and land on the floor beside the rum bottle. She then flopped back against the pile of clothes and closed her eyes; deciding she would rather sleep than endure another moment of her frustrating torture.
Her plan to sleep however failed She remained wide awake, her body unwilling to cooperate her with the thoughts in her brain. Tayuya rolled to the side, hoping that a change in position would correct her sleeping troubles.
It did not.
In fact. it increased her discomfort and restlessness. Aggreravated, Tayuya blamed her sleeplessness on the fact that the sun still hadn’t completely disappeared yet.Its dimming rays leaking through the glass panels on the balcony door.
Her body also burned to be doing anything other than resting.
Boy’s night. Ladies night. She didn’t care what her Saturday night was called as long as she was having fun. And lying on a rumpled bunch of Sakon’s clothing was anything but pleasurable.
“Time for a game,” she finally decided.
Tayuya stretched and rolled off the pile on to the floor. She walked across the bedding to Sakon’s bedside stand and opened the top drawer.
Once inside of the drawer, she removed a tri-area ninja telephone book and started to flip through the pages. Randomly she stopped on one and dropped her finger carelessly on a name.
“Saratobi Asuma.”
The first name of the man seemed fun and she figured she would have a ball making jokes about the phoentic sound of his first name.
“ASS-uma.” was only of the ways she planned to make fun of his name. She dialed the number and listened to the dial tone.
“Oh what the hell,” she complained after the tenth ring. It seemed her funny pun would have to wait until the next time she came across the name while playing her little game.
She returned to the phone book and started flipping the pages once more.
“Hmm...Yakushi Kabuto,” she mused as her finger ended up on his name.
She was surprised to see that his number was listed even though he worked for someone like her tough boss Orochimaru.
"Maybe some other time,” she decided.
Tayuya turned to the next page of listing.
"This one's fine," she said, selecting a name at the top of the Konoha listing page.
She entered the digits and waited.
"Hello?" an older male voice answered.
She pinched her nose to give her voice a nasally quality, "Gen Aburame please."
"Yes?” the speaker replied.
“We’re conducting a survey about how the color pink effects your life.”
Tayuya bit her lip to hold back the snickers.
“Pink?” a puxxled Mister Aburame asked.
“Yeah. Y’know. The color of the women’s panties you wear to bed each night and night. Probably the color of the razor you use to shave your a--”
The man on the receving end of the call abruptly hung up.
Tayuya stiffled her amused laughter and redialed the number.
“Hello?” the male voice answered.
“Maybe pink is the wrong color for you. Are you a violet man?”
Mister Abarume hung the phone up again. Tayuya called back.
“What about your bra size?” she snickered.
There was a click and then the dial tone ringing in her.
Tayuya called again but this time no one replied. She laughed and continued to ring the phone, hoping that her victim would eventually tire of it and pick up the call.
Five minutes went by without a change. She started growing bored and opened the bottom drawer to find the remote control. She spread herself across the bed then lazily clicked on the television and started flipping through the channels.
Eventually, she stopped on a horror movie that was just beginning. It seemed like a monster flick but it was still too early to tell yet.
She then looked over at the phone that lie on a pillow beside her. After ten minutes, it was still ringing and she didn’t have high hopes that the butt of her jokes would answer anytime soon.
“Sharon, please wait with me,” the blonde actress on the tv screen told her friend, “I don’t want it to get me when I’m alone.”
The screen angle on the movie changed to reveal the two teenage girls from the monster’s point of view. His hairy foot was visible at the bottom of the screen as he watched them stand outside by the pool.
“Tora, I wouldn’t abandon you,” the friend answered, “ but...what if IT is watching us.”
“Enough talking already! Eat um’ both,” Tayuya grumbled at the screen, “Let’s see some blood.”
The lame dialog between the two girls continued and Tayuya thumped her foot against the top of the mattress as she impatiently watched.
“God I hate beginnings,” she groaned, rising up off the bed and closing the drapes.
Tayuya clicked on the lights and headed downstairs to the box where Jiroubo kept his snacks. She figured since was watching a so-called “movie” that she should at least break out the goodies and now would be the best time to get them.
Roughly, she pulled the couch out from the wall to reveal a large box. She rummaged noisely through Jiroubo’s secret stash until she obtained a bag of nacho chips and a mint flavored pack of chewing gum.
When Tayuya returned to the movie, she learned quickly that she did not miss much. The monster still hadn’t killed anyone on screen yet and the presence of frightened teenage girls had seemed to mutiply.
“We need to be careful when we all go swimming,” one of the teenage girls on the screen said.
Tayuya opened the bag of nacho chips and began to slowly devour them. She watched as a group of teenagers went swimming on the screen in a place they had been warned not to go. The monster lurked in the trees nearby and Tayuya eagerly anticipated his killing rampage.
The monster got closer and closer to a brunette and shaggy haired boy while they were off kissing by the abandoned cabin near the lake. Tayuya leaned forward as the monster followed the couple to the door of the cottage.
The nacho chip hung out of her mouth as she gapped in anticipatory awe.
“I love you Johnny..” the brunette on the screen whispered to her boyfriend.
The monster got closer as the two crawled in bed together.
Then closer.
And even closer still.
Tayuya’s eyes widened as the monster crawled right underneath the bed of the
love-making couple
“C’mon...” she whispered to herself, “Do it..”
The monster wrapped its hairy arm around one of the bed legs. It rattled the bed and startled to the two lovers.
“Yes.” Tayuya responded enthuisatically.
The brunette screamed, “It’s him!” to her boyfriend as the monster emerged. The boyfriend picked up his belt from the floor and started to beat the monster with it.
Tayuya rocked in excitement at the edge of the bed, her legs dangling and her eyes glued to the action.
The monster swung back with its hairy arms, bearing its claws but not striking the boyfriend once. The boyfriend beat it repeatedly until the monster burst out of the cabin.
“HEY!” Tayuya shouted at the screen, “Where the fuck do you think you’re going! Get back in there and kill them.”
The monster disappeared into the woods and some cheesy music played.
“I think,” the belt wielding boyfriend said, “we’re safe.”
“No.” Tayuya hissed, “What the hell was that shit!”
She threw the bag of nachos across the floor at the television in a fit of utter disgust.
Just then, she began to hear sounds on the driveway outside. She cocked her head and listened more carefully.
They were footsteps and they stopped right outside the house door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Tayuya sat and looked over at the clock.
“Shit,” she cursed, quickly leaping off the bed and gathering the sheets from the bedding pile, “What the hell are you all doing back so early.”
The person knocked again with an even pressure against the front door.
“Hold it damn you,” Tayuya shouted loudly to ensure the knocker would hear her.
Tayuya rapidly made the bed, tucking the sheets loosely under the corners. She brushed away all of the nachos with her hand and pushed them under the bed. Then she carelessly dumped the pile of the clothes on to the floor of Sakon’s closet and pushed against the door with her butt until the door closed.
“Hello,” she heard an unfamilar male voice call as she approached the stairs.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
“Who the hell--?” Tayuya thought to herself.
She descended the stairs. “Who’s there?”
The person knocked again.
“Hey! I’m talking to you. What’s your name.” she yelled at the closed door.
“Umino Iruka,” the person on the other side of the door replied.
“Sea...Dolphin,” she said, taking a literal reading of his name, “Yeah right. If you’re the Sea Dolphin than I’m Chicken of the Sea tuna.”
There was an awkward pause between the two.
“So. Dolphin is your real name.Seriously?” Tayuya finally asked.
“That’s right.” he responded, “Iruka.”
“Gotcha,” she said, nodding warily, “What is it you want Iruka?”
Iruka cleared his throat.
“I’m looking for Yucie Mitomora,” he explained, “Is she in?”
“What makes you think she’s here?” Tayuya asked.
“Isn’t she?,” he answered uncertainally.
“How should I know where she lives.” Tayuya shot back.
The sharp sound of silence sliced through the air between them once more.
Tayuya stretched up on to her tiptoes and tried to peer through the peephole at her mysterious visitor.
“I’m too short!” she complained loudly as she struggled to look outside.
“What?” he asked in a surprised tone at her noisy declaration.
“HOLD ON!” she hollered back, moving towards the kitchen to grab a chair to stand on.
“It was a mistake to try this,” Iruka mumbled to himself.
Tayuya hoisted a chair over her head and carried it into the hallway. She plopped it in front of the door with a thump and scrambled to climb up on to the seat.
“I’m sorry to have bothered you,” Iruka apologzed through the door.
Tayuya pushed her face against the peephole and peered out at the back of Iruka’s head as he started to walk away from the house.
“HEY WAIT!” she shouted, slapping her palms against the door, “Don’t go yet.”
The chair wobbled underneath Tayuya’s feet. She jumped down to the floor for more secure footing and started beating against the door with her fist.
“HEY!” she exclaimed, suddenly fearing that this new human contact would be lost.
The footsteps stopped and Iruka returned.
“I wanna know who the broad is,” she told Iruka, “Yucie whats-her-face?”
“I don’t really know her yet. She’s my blind date,” he answered sheepishly.
Tayuya gave the door a puzzled look, “A what?”
“Blind date,” he repeated.
“I heard you the first time,” Tayuya said, “What is it exactly?”
“Well...” Iruka began, “ Two strangers meet for the first time and go out together to see whether they’re compatible”
“Kinda like hooking up,” Tayuya asnwered.
“I suppose,” he replied, “but using a datiing service to find a match.” .
Tayuya heard the rustle of his clothing as he shifted positions, “Anyway, I should try to look for her house.”
“What for?” Tayuya asked, “You’re already late. You’d just make an ass outta yourself if you show now.”
“I’d rather not stand anyone up.” Iruka explained.
“You don’t even know where the broad really lives,” Tayuya complained, “and chances are you’ll ruin your Saturday night trying to find her. .”
Tayuya heard Iruka opening a paper object, “I could try the agency’s telephone number.”
Tayuya eagerly clasped her hands, “Slide it under the door and I’ll call for you.”
“I’ll read you the number,” he replied.
Tayuya frowned at his obvious distrust in her. “Forget it,” she answered, “Why should I help you if you won’t trust me.”
There was a pause before Iruka surrendered his paper and slid it underneath the door to where she was waiting. Tayuya picked up the creased sheet and quickly scanned it.
“Lifetime Long Connections Dating Service....Umino Iruka......Age 25.....yadda yadda yadda....teacher....blah blah blah...common interests.....blah blah....likes this and that.....blah blah blah....looking for a compatible person.....”
Tayuya impatiently skipped to the end, “Hmmm..Go figure...Right addrsss alright. It’s just he’s on the wrong side of Sound Village. This says east but we’re in the western district.”
Tayuya tore the paper in half and smiled deviously as an idea formed in her mind. She sat on the stairs, quietly crafting a plan that would make her Saturday night take a complete U-turn.
******************
In the meantime, Iruka stood waiting outside the front door. He wondered quietly why the woman on the other side of the door had not yet returned. It had been about five minutes since she last left him and he had not heard anymore from her.
“I shouldn’t have agreed to sign up for this sorta thing at the last faculty meeting,” Iruka told himself, “I wouldn’t be in this mess if I just said no.”
Iruka started pacing back and forth across the noisy driveway stones.
“Oh what am doing here,” he asked himself, “and in Sound Village no less....All because a stupid little paper said I was compatible with a teacher from Sound.”
Iruka sat down on the overgrown grass and glanced up towards the balcony area where it appeared there was a light on.
“Does this sort of dating service even work?” he critically questioned.
Iruka paused for a moment.
“Obviously not if I end up at the wrong house.”
“HEY! WHERE ARE YOU?!” the loud female voice boomed.
Iruka scrambled back towards the door, “I’m here.”
“Good,” she answered, “I...er...spoke to the dating service place thingy.”
“Thank you,” Iruka saiid.
“You’re at the right house,” she explained, “Just the name thing is wrong.”
“Name thing?” Iruka thought to himself.
“That company is so stupid,” the female voice continued, “Yucie whatever is suppose to be on a date with some other guy.”
Iruka raised an eyebrow suspiciously, “Is that right?”
“Yeah. I said I called them or whatever. Your date is me.”
*************************
There. She had said it. Now this Iruka guy had no choice but to believe her. Tayuya smiled at her own sudden spurt of brillance. It was a smart move to trick this stranger into letting her out of the house. The idea of a date with someone who seemed like a gentlemen pratically guaranteed that he would accept her bullshit-hook, line, and sinker.
The future hours she had left of her Saturday night instantly had became more worthwhile.
“I don’t know if I believe you,” was Iruka’s response.
Tayuya bit her lip at his skeptical and insulting words.
“Are you calling me a liar?” she demanded.
“It’s just....” he began.
“Just what...Huh? Say it?!” Tayuya yelled back at him.
“You don’t seem really like a teacher.” he admitted.
“A teacher,” Tayuya answered, completely caught off guard.
"It's a service for finding setting up single teachers."
“Um...Think fast, think fast,” she began repeating to herself, “AH! I know.”
Tayuya ran into the living room and opened the wicker chest that sat in front of the sideways couch.
Within a few moments, the gentle melody of a flute drifted through the air. Tayuya played a simple song for Iruka, a pretty melody that she had picked up somewhere during her youth. Tayuya removed the flute from her lips.
“I’m a music teacher,” she told him, “My melody does not lie.”
“No,” Iruka agreed, “I’m sorry I doubted you.”
“Don’t apologize to me with words. Do it with actions,” Tayuya replied, pressing her fingers against the door frame.
“Help me get out of here,” she requested.
