This is my first attempt at a fan fiction, so go easy on me, ne?
Summary: From the day his plagued existence began, he'd kept it all inside. All the pain, loss, and silent suffering slowly whittles down the spirit, and with the cursed seal constantly seeking an opportunity for release, Sasuke can't handle the turmoil alone anymore. Perhaps together Sasuke and Naruto can overcome their demons and find serenity in a growing devotion to each other. [Naruto x Sasuke, Kakashi x Iruka]
Pairings: Naruto x Sasuke, Kakashi x Iruka
Prologue:
It had been roughly two weeks since the stoic young man had seen the outside world, having been contained within a sickly white and padded cell for the duration of time. With heavy metallic bindings and blinding glasses fashioned for his unusual eyesight, he'd been stamped 'mentally unstable' and prone to bouts of spontaneous, and highly-dangerous displays of violence. It wasn't his fault though, not really in a sense that he could consciously control. The usually solemn boy would erupt into a squirming mass of anxiety and rage, nurtured by the cursed tattoo that flared venomously just above his left shoulder blade. It took the shape of a triple-comet system that connected into a circle, each star linked head to tail, and was referred to as a "bruise" by most who knew of its existence.
The cursed seal had delivered him into a world devoid of sound, sight, and touch after the last uncontrollable fit had turned his body into a Chidori-composed bulldozer. He could still hear the crackling lightning and demented chorus of chirping cheers as the blue and black chakra clawed up his pale arm in attempt to get free, to cause damage. A distinctive intensity had overtaken his demeanor during the incident and infused his eyes, and the fearsome Sharingan, with so much pure malice... and with the black flame wisps spreading like the wildfire it was across his pale skin, few shinobi had stifled their fears enough to confront the terror that was Uchiha Sasuke.
More shinobi, comrades of the menacing clan heir, had been wounded in attempt to restrain the boy than anyone could have imagined. Sasuke was no pushover whether aided by the cursed seal's self-damaging power or not. Ultimately, it took the entire 'Rookie Nine' to subdue the raging Uchiha, along with a handful of jounin ninja of which Kakashi-sensei was a part. It wasn't that they didn't want to harm their unstable teammate, but simply because they couldn't. He'd gone berserk, but retained the same genius skill and insight that usually made him a formidable opponent, an incredibly dangerous adversary. The only reason said destruction was halted so shortly after it began had to do with the same cursed seal that began it, seeing as the tattoo drew its power from the host as a parasite and left Sasuke fatigued and panting. Still, it was a time holding the struggling and cursing boy down while the 'Sharingan-incapacitating glasses' were firmly strapped across the youth's face and gloves were made to cover any jutsu escapes.
That was in the past now, though the horrified and shamed expressions on his comrade's faces still struck a chord of pain deep in the pit of his stomach. Above anyone else it was Naruto and Sakura who had appeared the most distraught over the situation. Those shimmering optics of baby blue had been filled to the brim with concern and a silent hope that his 'friendly rival' would come out alright in the end, while Sakura simply cried and consoled the struggling boy for all she was worth. All attempts at calming the furious Uchiha were unsuccessful and only seemed to enrage him more.
"Who the hell are you to do this to me?!" Sasuke had yelled over and over as the horrible blinding glasses were applied to his wild, angry eyes. He wouldn't say it aloud, but the idea of suddenly being blind had frightened him beyond reason and only fueled his will to fight.

The boy bolted upright in bed, shivering uncontrollably at the unwanted dreams and wishing that they'd somehow be just that, dreams turned nightmares. Unreal and harmless, not the memories he knew they were. And still... The young shinobi grit his teeth, quickly running nimble fingers over his closed eyelids.
Sometimes he had to remind himself that it was all in the past now.
