Summary: Sasuke hates festivals, celebrations and especially Christmas. It was times like this that he became more aware of how lonely and sad he really was. Before he dropped to the depth of glumness, Naruto was the only one he could think of.

Author’s note: This is my Christmas/New Year. Sorry it took so long and even though Christmas was long gone (and it’s already New Years T_T), I still felt I should do one anyhow. Please read.

Dedication: This fic is dedicated specially to Lyndsay-Marie a.k.a Yamilynz. Sorry for taking so long to write this one. This should have been in Lyndsay’s Christmas stocking with the rest of those yummy gifts. After a busy year end I hope to get things back to normal as usual. A Christmas for Sasuke (7/1/06-Beta’ed)


“What have you done now, Sasuke-kun?” asked Sakura as she tended to the rather nasty wound on his right arm.

Sasuke as usual scowled, replying, “Nothing, Sakura,”

“Yeah, right. You walked in early in the morning to the hospital, arm injured, and still you insist nothing happened?” She pulled the bandages around Sasuke’s arm tightly just to warn the raven-haired not to take her lightly.

“Okay. It was Naruto,” He said as short and plainly as he could to the pink-haired woman.

“Naruto? Did you guys have a fight, again?” She let out an exasperated sigh. God, these two men are so dense sometimes. Fighting like buffoons and injuring one another when they obviously cared for each other a lot.

Why can’t they admit their feelings like proper, normal people?

‘Hmph, men were no different now than back in the stone age,’ she thought.

“This is rich, how come you were the only one who got injured? It’s not like you,”

Sasuke gave Sakura an irritated look, wishing that she’d mind her own business.

“Hmmm, I wonder what Lee-kun would like for Christmas?” said Sakura as she admired her handiwork, “What do you think would be most suitable to give to someone you like, Sasuke-kun?”

“Don’t know,” he replied curtly, “You’re asking the wrong person, Sakura. I don’t have anyone I like, remember?”

“Well, I’m just asking for your opinion, that’s all.”

“God. Can I go now? You’re done with my arm, right?” he said in an impatient tone, standing up from his chair to leave.

“Oh, Sasuke-kun, don’t forget to do your Christmas shopping before all the good stuff is sold out.”

Sasuke gave Sakura an incredulous look, “What the hell makes you think that I’ll even go shopping in the first place?” He askd as if the very idea of him, Uchiha Sasuke, going shopping seemed ludicrous and completely un-Sasuke-like.

“Who knows Sasuke-kun, I have a feeling something wonderful might happen this Christmas,”

Hah! Something wonderful might happen? Like what? Sasuke look scornfully at the throng of shoppers pushing each other. What’s so wonderful about getting squashed like a can of tuna just to get something for someone who you don’t really care at all.

It seemed that the whole of Konoha was in a very spirited mood what with the all the colourful lights, and bells hanging around the streets. Almost everyone seemed to be humming some cheery tune as Sasuke walked pass the busy street on his way home.

It was times like this, that he, Uchiha Sasuke preferred to stay away, cooped up in his home, all alone, doing what he did best, which was brood or sulk, till he was bored stiff with only his shadow for company.

And when he couldn’t take it any more, his mind would always wonder aimlessly to the one person he couldn’t get out of his mind; Uzumaki Naruto.

Dobe. Loud. Obnoxious. Annoying. Orange. It seemed as if every single description he could think of about the blonde was anything but pleasing. Everything about Naruto screamed out HEY-WORLD-HERE-COMES-NARUTO. Even his distasteful choice of orange colouring and abominable fashion sense made the dobe uniquely different from the rest of their fellow shinobi. The idiot certainly had no problem making himself stand out alright, thought Sasuke.

When he realized that he was thinking about his rival, Sasuke mentally kicked himself, wondering why on earth he was thinking about the moronic blonde at such a time.

He, the great Uchiha Sasuke was a loner for god’s sake, and was used to living alone ever since he was a kid. He never minded much about doing things by himself before. In fact he relished being far apart from the rest, wrapped up in his own little world, with no one bothering him, and he, bothering no one. He “hmphed” in agreement to himself saying that isn’t this was what he wanted; for people to mind their own business, to leave him alone?

Of course given the fact that he was born into Konoha’s prominent Uchiha family, it wasn’t easy to simply want people to ignore him, especially when you were blessed with pale smooth complexion and good looks.

When Sasuke did reached his home he made his way to the kitchen, took out a carton of orange juice, poured it into a glass, and sat down on a chair. Taking a sip of juice, little by little, he eyed the rather spacious kitchen adjoining the living hall, and somehow felt them to be colder and gloomier than ever before.

Sasuke shook his head, trying to deny the dreaded feelings that he felt for the past few days. No. The room did not feel cold and gloomy. No. He was not feeling bored with being alone. No. He was not feeling sad and sorry for himself. Over and over Sasuke tried to convince himself that this feeling was not real, or maybe it was just the sight of everyone being cheerful and happy that made him realize how sad and miserable he really was.

After washing his glass, he flopped himself down on the sofa and turned on the 53” TV in the living room. Flipping through the countless channel available, he could find nothing interesting to watch. Unintentionally he switched to a comedy series, staring at a funny scene with little interest.

Sasuke gave a deep sigh, when had being alone ever felt as boring and restless as today? Not paying attention to the TV, the raven-haired soon fell into a deep slumber, dreaming oddly of the smiling dobe and ramen.

Naruto wondered what was wrong with Sasuke-teme, his best friend (if you look past the endless bickering and fights they had), and rival. For the past few weeks, Sasuke didn’t seem to be paying much attention to their usual sparring sessions. In fact the raven-haired didn’t kick, punch, or cause any bodily harm to him, as if he were afraid to even touch a single hair on his body.

Instead, it was Sasuke who ended up wounded, which surprised Naruto so much that he didn’t even felt like gloating or taunting Sasuke for losing to him.

In fact, Naruto felt so worried over Sasuke’s distance and far away look that he decided to follow the raven haired for a few days, in hopes that he could study Sasuke more, to learn what was the matter with the usually stoic man.

There was definitely something wrong with Sasuke, thought Naruto. He looked so irritated whenever he passed the crowded streets, glaring at the few sales girls who dared to stop him, promoting all sorts of gifts for him to buy. It seemed that as the days got nearer to Christmas, the grumpier Sasuke would get.

One night he followed Sasuke back to his home. As expected the Uchiha resident was bare of all things bright and cheerful, no little coloured lights around the house, no colourful decorations, nothing that would remind you of warmness or festivity let alone Christmas.

Through the window, Naruto watched Sasuke gulping down some juice before throwing himself on the couch in front of a large TV. He noticed Sasuke pressing his remote to turn the volume louder so that the noises echoed throughout the large house. Sasuke stared at the TV, looking bored and depressed and not long after that the raven haired had fallen asleep, curled up into a ball, not minding the loud noise of the TV in front of him.

Naruto turned his gaze away from the window, and leaned his back against the wall. His heart reached out to Sasuke. He, of all the people in Konoha knew what it was like to be alone with no families or kin.

Sasuke had friends and a lot of people liked him, if only he would accept them, if only he’d let them into his heart. But then again maybe the bastard was too stuck up to even admit that he could use a little cheering up.

‘What am I going to do with you, Sasuke? I thought you said we were friends, damn it! Or maybe more, if you’d let me,’ thought the blonde, taking one last look at Sasuke’s sleeping form before he made his way back home.

“We’re not going to spar today,” declared the blonde to Sasuke the very next day, on the eve before Christmas, when they met at the training ground for their daily sparring/ training.

“Why?” asked the raven-haired when he was about to pulled out his kunai.

“Because…well…you seemed preoccupied with something else…and…,” Naruto gave Sasuke an exasperated look, “…and…oh…I don’t know…,” he shrugged not knowing how to say it, “…you look…kind of…inattentive lately…and you don’t seem to be in the mood to spar anyway,”

“What the hell do you mean!?” said Sasuke, scowling at the man.

“Look at you,” Naruto pointed to the bandages and plasters and bruises on Sasuke’s hands, arms and cheeks.

“What about me?,”

“Hell, Sasuke, you’re covered in cuts and bruises, damn it!”

“We were sparring, dobe, it’s normal to have injuries while training with weapons,”

“No it’s not normal,” said Naruto softly, shaking his head as he searched those weary onyx eyes, looking for a clue that could make him understand Sasuke more, “You’d never let yourself get wounded or injured, let alone, bruised. Never, you know that. I’m not that stupid Sasuke not to notice something’s different about you,”

“You’re just imagining things, dobe. There’s nothing wrong with me,”

“Oh yeah? Then why can’t you kick me or punch me senseless like you used too, huh?”

“…” The raven haired stared off to the side, not bearing to look into those blue orbs, afraid that Naruto would see through him.

“Sasuke! Tell me!,” Naruto grabbed Sasuke arms, forcing him to look at him. “Please…I’m your friend aren’t I? If you at least consider me your friend then please tell me.” Naruto dropped his gaze down, grasping tightly onto Sasuke’s arms, “Please, I beg you. Don’t keep everything pent up inside you. It hurts to see you like this, so alone and sad. I know how it feels to be…alone…with no one there. That’s why I don’t want you to be…alone…by yourself…”

“I don’t want you as my friend, Naruto,” came the curt reply and for a second, Naruto’s heart almost shattered into pieces at Sasuke’s nonchalant statement.

Naruto gave a sarcastic laugh, “I see…well I guess you made that clear, huh?,” he let go of Sasuke’s arms and was about to turn away, when Sasuke grabbed him by one of his arms, pulling him into a tight embrace, capturing Naruto’s lips with his.

‘What! This isn’t real, is it?,’ said Naruto to himself, surprised at the feeling of cold lips against his. He shut his eyes, wanting to savour those lips against his a little longer.

As suddenly as the kiss at started, Sasuke let go of Naruto and turned away before saying, “I don’t want you as a friend Naruto…because… I want us to be more than…just friends,” said the raven haired in a throaty voice, “I want you, your heart, your body, your soul. Everything that is you. I want you to want nobody else but me, your mind to think of no one else but me,”

“Sasuke…” said Naruto as Sasuke turned his back to leave him. Don’t go. Don’t leave me.

“Naruto…,” the raven haired stop in his track, “I’ll be here at 12 midnight. If you’re not here…I~I’ll understand,” he left Naruto to ponder over his message.

Sasuke closed his eyes as he sat on a grassy patch of ground of the training area. He eyed his wristwatch, following the hand till it was 10 seconds away from 12 midnight.

10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1 and his watch beeped its alarm, telling him that it was 25th December and Christmas had officially arrived.

He looked around the training ground, still dark and no sign of Naruto. Sasuke hugged his knees, feeling cold and terrible. He came out in just his yukata without thinking that it would still be cold in the morning.

‘Guess the dobe won’t be coming, huh?’ he thought, feeling a little hurt, ‘He probably spent Christmas with Sakura and the rest of their friends. After all, why would Naruto want to spend time with him when he had others?’

“This is stupid,” said Sasuke to himself, sitting there, alone brooding in the barely lit area. A small part of him had wished and hoped that at least Naruto would want to be with him here.

Suddenly, Sasuke heard someone walking up to him then stop. He looked up, but was surprised at the feel of soft supple lips closing around his in a light kiss.

“Merry Christmas, Sasuke-teme,” said Naruto, a grin on his face. It was precious to see the sight of the normally cool and stoic man’s face slightly flushed and surprised.

“Unnh,” for the first time Sasuke was dumbfounded, his mind couldn’t think of anything intelligent to say, his heart, beating madly against his chest, felt warm and alive from Naruto’s decision to be with him.

“Hey…didn’t know you were the shy type, Sa~su~ke-kun!” said the blonde, teasingly.

Face flushed, the taller man’s eyebrows knitted in a frown, “Urusei, usuratonkachi!” he replied trying to salvage some of his composure.

Naruto laughed at his rival, “If I’d known you’d be all befuddled over a kiss, I’d have kissed you during our sparring time.”

Sasuke glared at the blonde man before a small smile tugged at his lips, “Hmph! You call that lame excuse a kiss, dobe?,”

Before Naruto could say, “Teme!” strong pale hand grabbed hold of his chin, pulling him down a little to received a very passionate kiss from Sasuke.

What could only have been a few minutes felt like hours for them both as Sasuke slowly ended their kiss, a smug look on his face. Something about being able to effectively silence the loudest ninja in the whole of Konoha with just a mere kiss felt very satisfying to the dark-haired man.

“How about that, dobe? Cat got your tongue?” he couldn’t resist taunting the blonde man a little.

Sasuke expected Naruto to fight back but instead he smiled warmly and flung himself at Sasuke, forcing the surprised man to hold him around the waist so as not to send them both falling to the ground.

“Since when are you the clingy type, dobe?” Sasuke said, not sounding displeased at all. In fact, he quite liked having the blonde’s body against his, their bodies fitting one another, to feel the sunshine breeze in Naruto’s hair and his warmth fusing into his cold skin.

“Since now,” came a purred whisper from the blonde, “You smell like morning dew, you know that, bastard?”

“Really?” Sasuke had no idea what morning dew smelt like but smile instead at the blonde’s statement.

“Hmm. I want to stay like this forever,” said the blonde in a wishful voice.

“You might get tired staying like this, dobe,”

“Being with you is never a tiring experience, teme,”

“Should I feel honored by your words?”

“Yeah, you should. I don’t say this kind of things to just anyone, you know.”

Sasuke let his hand traced the whisker-like scars on Naruto’s flushed cheek, lost in the warmness of those cerulean eyes. He dropped his hand to the blonde’s supple lips, running a thumb lightly over his lower lip, “What do I get for Christmas, huh, dobe?” He asked with a smirk.

“Depends…” said Naruto in a breathless voice as he took hold of Sasuke’s hand and slowly trailed his tongue over the raven haired’s palm, “…on whether you’ve been a good boy or bad,” before sucking in two of his finger, causing Sasuke to catch his breath at the blonde’s playful act.

“What if I haven’t been a good boy?” said Sasuke trying hard not loose control at Naruto daringness.

“Then, I guess I’ll have to punish you for being a bad boy, Sa~su~ke~kun,” and Naruto gave the raven haired his best sexy, foxy grin that shattered the rest of Sasuke’s control.

He chuckled; pulling Naruto tighter in his arms, “Then punish me, dobe…” he whispered in the blonde’s ear, delighting at the shivery response he received from him, “… ‘cause I have been a bad boy for having sinful thoughts of you, Naru-chan,” captured the dobe’s lips, kissing him until they were both desperate for air.

“Ne…Sasuke…,” Naruto tugged him so they sat down together, watching the stars glittering in the still dark sky. He leaned against Sasuke, his head resting at the crook of the taller man’s neck.

“What?” he asked for the first time really noticing that the stars were shining brightly.

“1...4...3,” said Naruto with a smile in his voice.

Sasuke gave a laugh, thinking that sometimes Naruto was a lot smarter than he looked. He took the blonde’s hand and kissed it gently, “Me, too, dobe. I love you, too,”

Watching the stars by yourself was okay. But watching them with someone you love was far better, thought Sasuke, as he held onto Naruto’s hand as if he would never let him go. Spending Christmas with the one he loved was the best present he could ever get.

Yo again! I don’t know whether you like it or not, but I’d love it if you could let me know what you think about this little piece. This is basically how I picture Christmas for Naruto and Sasuke, bringing them together. This is a complete chapter. So no future ones. Sorry. I’ll be focusing on updating my other fics Sealed Heart, Only You and Get Over It.. SO much to do yet so little time. I hate year end because have to close the accounts and all. Anyway because of my work I was unable to update as frequent as I want to. Sorry mina if I disappoint you guys but thank you for putting up with me. Arigato ^ ^.
