This is a One-Shot friendship fic nothing more.


Got My Back


Sasuke Sat in a tree, overlooking the village that now despised him. After he had returned, they never respected him the same again. He was not used to all the horrible things they said to him. Disgrace, despicable, traitor, bastard. That was what they said to him now.


"Yo, Sasuke. What the hell do you think ou are doing? We have training to do, or did that just happened to slip your mind like last timr too?" came the annoying voice of Uzamaki, Naruto.


Sasuke looked down and sighed, before he called back. "Go away Dobe, I'm not in the mood to talk to deal with you right now. Let alone train today."


Naruto looked angry, correction, very angry. "You bastard!" he yelled up the tree. "You're going to train with me wether you like it or not." He channeled his chakra to his feet and began to walk up the tree.


"Dobe, if you come up here I swear I am going to Kick your ass." Sasuke growled.


"Heh, I'd like to see you try!" Naruto called, reaching the branch, where sasuke was sitting.


"You asked for it!" Sasuke said, before punching him in the face. Naruto fell out of the tree and landed on his ass, HARD!


"Why you son of a bitch." Naruto screamed at Sasuke. Sasuke wasn't even paying attention. He had sensed an enormous amount of chakre coming towards them and fast. He watched Naruto stiffen out of the corner of his eye, knowing that he had realized it too.


Suddenly a Kunai whizzed past Sasuke'e ear. It had only taken a hunk of hair, but sasuke was pissed. Nobody touched his hair. Ten more Kunai flew past and almost planted themselves into Naruto's stomach, had he not dodged them just in time.


"Son of a bitch!" Naruto said, pulling a kunai out of his shirt, preparing to fight. Sasuke did the same, keeping alert.


Then they saw them. At least twenty or so ninja, surrounded them. Sasuke heard Naruto say something under his breath that sounded very familiar to shit, but he didn't care.


Naruto performed a series of hand signs and about a dozen clones appeared out of nowhere. Then the Ninja pounced. It was fourteen to twenty or more. The odds were stacked way against them somehow.


Some of Naruto's clones had managed to survive the first frontal attack, but a lot of them had been vanquished. They were now fighting feircely. They had killed about half of the men so far. That was proggress, wasn't it?


Soon there were only three men left. All of Naruto's clones had disappeared now. It was only Naruto and Sasuke left. Naruto slipped up behind one of the ninja and sliced his throat open with his kunai. The man fell dead, where he sood. Sasuke performed his favorite hand signs and cupped his fingers around his mouth and fire blew from it. It fried he man that was standing in front of him. Now there was only one ninja left.


The final man had snuck up behind Sasuke. Naruto turned just in time. "Sasuke look out!" he yelled. He threw his bloody kunai at the man. It lodged itself into the base of his neck. The man had been quick enough to thrust his own kunai into Sasuke's back. As the man fell he pulled the Kunai with him, slicing Sasuke's back open. Naruto watched as his teammate fell to the ground, bleeding severley.


Naruto raced to his side and lifted his head into his arms. He was still alive, thank god. He turned him over to inspect his back. It was pretty bad and he was loosing a lot of blood fat. Naruto tore a peice of his clothing off and placed it over the wound. He heard Sasuke moan and lifted him up. He placed his arm over his shoulder and held onto Sasuke's waist. They began to stumble towards the village.


Naruto looked at Sasuke and said, "We've seriously have to get you some help. You're banged up pretty good there."


Before they reached the village, just outside the gate, Sasuke looked up at Naruto. "You've always got my back for me right?" he said.


"Always." Naruto replied. They continued to walk the rest of the way to the village and passed the gate.


"Oh my god!" somebody screamed from somewhere and people rushed to help them. Naruto watched as Sasuke was taken to get some medical attention. He began to walk home, when he was stopped by Sakura.


"And where do you think you're going?" she asked expectantly.


"Home." Naruto replied.


:"Oh no you're not. You're going to go get some help. You're as banged up as Sasuke." she said, dragging him off in the direction they took Ssauke.


When Sasuke woke up, he was in a hospital room, lying on a hospital bed. Naruto was sitting on a couch nearby, leaning his head against the wall. He spotted Sasuke and sat up straight and cheerfully.


"Finally, sleeping beauty awakes." he said sarcastically.


"Shut up Dobe." Sasuke said as he winced at the pain that shot through his back.


"Is that anyway to speak to someone ho just saved your life?" Naruto asked, acting a little hurt.


"You did what? What happed?" Sasuke asked.


"We were attacked just outside the village. You were jumped from behind and got your back slced open. I wouldn't move much by the way. You would have died if I hadn't saved your ass and brought you back." Naruto grinned.


:Are you sure you weren't just drunk and dreamed you saved my ass?" sasuke questioned.


"Oh shut up! You know it happed, so just admit it already." Naruto said.


"Oh alright.." Sasuke said.


"Great." Naruto said in a triumphet grin.


"Thanks bye the way." Sasuke mumbled.


"What was that?" Naruto asked.


"I said thanks." Sasuke said louder.


They both sat there in silence for a little while. Naruto broke the silence first. "Um, Sasuke."


"Yea."


"Do you remember what you said before you passed out. About the whole having your back and stuff?"


"Yes."


"I really meant it."


"I know."


"You do?"


"Yeah, that's what best friends are for aren't they?" Sasuke answered him.


Naruto smiled and asked, "Sasuke, you've always got my back right?"


"Always." Sasuke smiled.
