Love's Reeducation

Hello Everyone and Welcome to the first chapter of Love's Reeducation the main pairing will be ShinoKiba but their will also be some GaaNaru as well in the later chapters. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed writting it so without further ado here is Chapter 1 of Love's Reeducation.

Chapter One-Love's Reeducation

Shino felt the world tilt and become blurry. 'Nnn... What's going on?' he couldn’t help thinking, ‘And...why is it so hot?' He threw off the oppressively hot jacket he had placed on himself that morning but still found it wasn't enough as he shrugged off his shirt too. Sinking down to his knees in weariness he gasped for breath and tried to still the racing of his heart due to the heat. Everything only seemed to blur more and Shino found himself collapsing to the ground completely, the meeting with his teammates at the training grounds forgotten as he tried to breathe. Before he passed out he saw a faintly familiar figure running towards him and calling his name.

It was Kiba. He had run off to search for his normally on-time teammate, only to find him collapsed on the ground half naked. 'What the hell’s wrong?' he thought, running in fear to the other’s side. Kneeling down, he felt the pale boy's cheek that only seemed paler to his eyes and found it extremely hot to the touch. "Shino..." He whined in the back of his throat in worry, hating to see the normal strong and unaffected boy like this. Hoisting the other carefully into his arms, his only thought at the moment was seeing to the safety of his best friend and teammate. Then with Akamaru's help he rode off in the direction of the Hokage Tower, the only thought on the Inuzuka’s mind was that if anyone could help Shino it would be Tsunade-sama.

Tsunade in the mean time was trying not to fall asleep again atop the stack of work on her desk and vaguely remembered that she needed to complete it by the end of the day. It was then that she perked up remembering that her surrogate little brother, Naruto, was returning from his month long mission in Iwagakure today. With the blonde's appearance something always seemed to happen as though it had only been waiting for his return. 'Well, if nothing does manage not to happen,' she thought, ‘spying on the would be lovers is always good for a show,’ especially since the seemingly possessive and village-bound Sasuke tended to become anxious that his boyfriend might find someone else when he wasn't with the blonde 24/7 and tended to start a rather amusing fight with Naruto every time he came home because of it.

It was while she was thinking about the last big fight they had that Kiba came bursting through the door and into the room on the back of Akamaru with an ashen-looking and half-dressed Shino held securely in his arms.

"I'm sorry, Tsunade-sama," Shizune smiled crookedly, embarrassed that the two had managed to get past her, "It seems Kiba-kun insisted on seeing you himself." She glared in Kiba's direction when he ignored her comment.

"That's alright, Shizune." Tsunade waived her assistant off with one hand as she eyed the bug user in worry, "Bring him here, Kiba."

At her request the young man came striding over after descending off of Akamaru's back. "Tsunade-sama, he was like this when I found him..." Kiba appeared frustrated.

‘He's not used to seeing someone as strong as Shino brought down in this manner...’ With a calming and sympathetic smile, she gestured for the him to place Shino onto her nearby operating table so that she could get a better look at the young Aburame. He seemed to have taken on a pale gray shade between the time Kiba had found him and when he'd arrived at the Hokage Tower.

Kiba winced hearing Shino moan in pain at the first touch of the cold table on his back, "Will he be ok, Tsunade-sama?" the urge to whine again in the back of his throat.

Tsunade tried to continue smiling reassuringly, but she could feel the bug user’s chakra depleting quickly causing goose-bumps of horror to shoot up her back. "This is wrong...' she thought, 'This shouldn't be happening...' Her worst fears were confirmed at the touch of searching chakra through the boy's system. It was the Aburame clan's worst fear come to fruition; Shino's kikaichuu were dying, and eventually their container would die with them. And she could do nothing to stop it. The only thing that could really be done, as was told to her by the elders of the Aburame clan back when she had become the Godaime Hokage, was to have the bugs replaced, and the only place that was possible was in Sunagakure where the Aburame clan originated from. It was also the place where the family first brought their new born infants and introduced them to their life long allies, the kikaichuu, by planting them within the child's body there before the technique was capable of being done completely in Konoha. It would be dangerous in Shino's case, since he was no longer an infant but an eighteen-year-old young man. One who's lack of sufficient chakra at the moment due to his critical condition may cause the bugs to reject him outright due to that very reason. The whole reason the bugs were drawn to the Aburame’s in the first place was their high chakra levels that fed the bugs as well as maintained their existence within the body. The procedure, Tsunade had also learned, was dangerous since the replacement of the bugs hasn't been completed successfully on an adult in over 25 years because it more often causes death than life to the container.

Tsunade also had to consider the fact that the journey to the Suna could quite easily cause complications in Shino's case, since he would have no way to defend himself with the low amount of chakra currently being maintained in his body, let alone be able to muster the strength to travel the journey. The Godaime would have to quickly think up a way to somehow help maintain his chakra as well as keep the boy protected in case something went wrong along the way or she knew he would die.
Her answer came in the form of a boisterous blonde that came busting unannounced as usual into her office, "Oi! Baa-chan, I'm back!!!"

"I see that, brat..." she mumbled in annoyance at the name, but she was secretly glad her favorite person had returned in one piece. It was then that an idea hit her. 'Of course!' she thought; it’s so simple she couldn't understand why she hadn't thought of it before. Just like Naruto could maintain high chakra levels due to the assistance of the Kyuubi that resided in his body, she could help to connect someone else's chakra to Shino's body in a similar way allowing him to survive the journey to his clan’s grounds in Suna. All that remained was finding the right person to travel with him and maybe a third party just in case. She knew that none of the Aburame would take the chance of being a surrogate chakra source due to the fact that they may become infected themselves by the same disease that was killing Shino's kikaichuu. Looking at Kiba’s concerned face as he fidgeted off to one side of her while she looked Shino over, she knew she had the right candidate standing before her. Kiba not only had a large enough amount of chakra that he could easily share he was also Shino’s best friend and teammate. There really wasn’t anyone better suited to travel with the bug-user other than Kiba, especially since Hinata wasn't an option due to the fact that she was currently studying for a position within the medic-nin.

The other person, though she hated to admit it, had to be Naruto because there were no other Jounin available to take the job since they were all out on assignment; well...all except Sasuke, who wasn't even an option since he was still considered under house arrest due to his deflection to Otogakure. Except for Naruto, the Sharingan-user didn't seem to care about anyone else for that matter; it was one of the factors why Sasuke hasn't as of yet passed the review to allow him his freedom to become a ninja for Konoha again.

"Ano sa! Ano sa! Baa-chan, what's wrong with bug-boy?" Naruto asked in his usual, seemingly unaffected manner.

She ran a hand through Shino's soft, spiky, dark brown hair in thought and ignoring the nickname for the moment, "He's dying..."

Kiba froze in shock, "WHAT?!" Looking with widened eyes at his best friend, the first thing that came to Kiba's mind at what Tsunade had said was that he couldn't live without his teammate.

"What!?" Naruto was equally affected but in a different way, since he hated learning about any bad news that could involve one of his friends.

Tsunade hit Naruto hard on the head, "I said he's dying, brat. Pay attention... We need to get him to Sunagakure and fast. He needs to have the kikaichuu inside of him replaced..."

"Ow..." Naruto rubbed his head, "Why the hell 'd you hit ME but not Kiba?!"

Tsunade grinned evilly, "That's for calling me, Baa-chan... Brat, how many times do I have to remind you not to call me that?" Naruto just snorted in annoyance at the comment.

Kiba for his part was still in a daze over the whole issue, "What can I do, Hokage-sama?"

Tsunade grinned, pleased that someone was actually listening, "I need you to combine your chakra with Shino's...otherwise he won’t survive the journey nor the procedure with the bugs." Kiba only nodded, simply feeling as though that if he didn't he would loose something precious, "What do I need to do?"

"Trust me?" Tsunade smiled warmly at him and began to set up the procedure that would combine the two boy’s chakra.
