Marking Your Territory
Prolugue: Hinata and Kiba, A match meant to be.
Hinata walked down the halls of the Hokage tower and was shuffled along as the rest of the returning Chuunin hurried past her in an attempt to get to the best spots on the training grounds.
She smiled as she walked and tried to at least act like she wasn’t keeping a secret. It was very difficult for her as always and when she was on her way to meet with said secret it became even more difficult.
That was probably why everyone had known of her crush on Naruto all those years ago.
But now that she was a ripe old Nineteen, Hinata was sure that keeping something a secret should be much more easily accomplished.
Well, it should.
“Hinata? Is something wrong? You look funny today?” asked the blond ex-object of her affection as he stared at her in the halls.
“Why do you ask me that, Naruto-kun?” She said, looking around.
“Oh, just because Kiba told everyone that he asked you to marry him and you accepted. And that he has asked Genma and Ino to watch the dogs tonight so that you can go out and talk about your plans. I just thought you would look more excited, is all.” Naruto teased before passing by and kissing her gently on the cheek. “Congratulations, Hinata. I am really happy for you.” He added as she blushed darkly.
“Thank you, Naruto. I am too.” She said letting the emotion flood her whole demeanor.
“Now, that is what I was talking about. A soon to be happy bride should always look like that.” Naruto added, rushing off to catch up with his team.
Once he was out of sight, Hinata smiled to herself. She had managed to keep the secret this time and had been given away by Kiba. But she could not be angry at the excited Inuzuka. Kiba loved her and wanted everyone to know. She would never hold that against him.
Kiba was her true love and that was an all-forgiven place in her heart.
Chapter One: Akamaru.
It couldn’t be the weather, as the clouds floated overhead they were light and fluffy.
Kiba smiled as he thought that they were the perfect clouds for Shikamaru to watch.
But that was not the problem.
It couldn’t be overwork, as he and his team had only had one mission in the last week.
Kiba sniffed the air. A strange scent filled his nose but he didn’t understand how it could be having this effect.
Akamaru growled and he looked down at him, lifting an eyebrow at the little beast’s strange behavior.
“Time to go home.” He stated. They wouldn’t get any training done today, again.
Kiba began walking toward the small apartment he shared with his young wife and the dogs. He didn’t look back to see if the dog was following him, knowing that if he didn’t follow, Akamaru could easily find his own way home.
As he climbed the stairs to the second floor home, a firm brush of fur told him that Akamaru intended to beat him to the door.
Kiba siged as he picked up his pace and completed the climb in record time, taking a corner at bullet speed and passing the dog just before they reached the door.
Kiba grabbed the knob and turned to see the white fur on his dog standing on end and hear a familiar voice coming down the hall from behind them.
“I thought Hinata was kidding, but both of you are acting like children.” Hana said from where she stood at the end of the hall just passed the last corner. “I was about to call you just as you decided to race home.”
Kiba blushed realizing his sister had caught him letting the dog’s attitude get to him. It was embarrassing that he didn’t know how to handle this and Hana was sure to tease him, mercilessly.
“Open your door and invite me in. We need to talk.” She said, patting his shoulder and giving the dog a look.
--I don't think I even want to ask if y'all see where this is headed. Oh, it is in the summary, but some people are still shocked by some things.
If you have issues with strange kinks, don't read my work, okay????
I will take those odd requests into considerations, and may even do some side stories on this one.
Oh, and my computer died and was buried last week. I will do what I can to resurrect the files that went with it.
*Sigh*
