On the day Neji left Konoha on his mission with Kiba and Shikamaru, Ten Ten went back home marked her calendar August 10 because that was the day Neji was scheduled to return and hopelessly cried her eyes out. She wouldn’t dare do that in front of Neji because she was tough, but that night was hard on her and she figured it was hard on Neji too. Her mother had asked her a hundred times what was wrong with her and she lied, saying that she had a fight with her teammate.
Three days later Ten Ten got a phone call from none other than Hyuuga Hinata. Hinata had invited Ten Ten over to the house to spend time with her and to get her mind off the fact that Neji was gone. Ten Ten had agreed to spend some time with her even though she was reluctant at first. Ten Ten arrived at the Hyuuga Manor shortly after the phone call. Hinata accepted her with open arms.
“Hey Ten Ten, come in, stay with me a while.” This was a side of Hinata Ten Ten had truly never expected to see. Hinata had become such an open and personable girl since she had been with Naruto. Hinata quickly fixed Ten Ten some tea and sat down at the table with her. “You okay?” she asked sincerely watching Ten Ten stare down at the table.
“Yeah, I suppose so, Hinata. I mean there’s nothing I could do about this was there?” Ten Ten took a sip of her tea.
“No, there wasn’t. But hey, talk to me. You and I have never talked and I don’t mean what’s your favorite hobby crap…I mean hard stuff. Like what you do behind the scenes.” Hinata raised her eyebrows, her white eyes were sparkling. Ten Ten nearly spit her tea across the table.

Hinata’s mother looked as if she had never given birth to two children. Her physique was gorgeous and she smelled amazing.
“Mom, this is my friend, Ten Ten. She’s on Neji’s team.” Hinata said to her mother.
