The Apology
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hey guys! This is my 1st story I've done so please be gentle!!! This story takes place right after Lee is healed from his battle with Gaara. I dont own Naruto or any of the chars that appear in this story >.< blah blah you all know the drill ^.~ Please RR and I hope you enjoy~ =^.^=

Panting Lee sat down next to the wooden stump he had been striking. "500" He said out loud. 'Now just to do 500 kicking exercises and I can go back to the village! But if I fail to compleat my task I shall have to do 300 push ups!!'Thinking this Lee once again stood up with new excitement and commenced the pulverizing of said wooden stump.
"35, 36, 37...." He counted aloud as he did he let his mind wander. How long had it been sence he had battled Gaara? Frowning to himself on how random it was that that particular memory had come into his mind. But realy it seemed so long ago...After Naruto had beatin Gaara in his raccon demon form Gaara had disappeared 'back to the sand village I would assume' Lee shrugged "89, 90, 91, 92, 93....." Lee allowed his mind to wander more on that fate full battle where he almost had to lose being a ninja for the rest of his life due to Gaara's cruelty.

"Next fight is.....RockLee VS Gaara" Stated the battle instructor
as he coughed lightly. "YOSHHHH!!!!!" Lee clenched his fist in anticipation. He had been dieing to fight and try to impress Sakura chan. Gaara remained
indifferent, closing his eyes summoned the sand to take him to the arena floor while Lee simply jumped down.
Standing opposit of Lee, Gaara looked coldly at him. Lee merely
got into stance putting out his hand in front of him palm up while the other was resting in a fist on his back. The instructor walked up to them and said "Ehem let the battle begin!"

"267, 268, 269...." Blinking Lee came back to reality realizing he had continued to count subconsciously out loud . Instinctively Lee lifted his once mangled arm to his face and touched the forarm knowing the scars that lye just beneath the green material of his long sleeved shirt.

He had done it! He had beaten him! Exhasted and on his hands and knees Lee glanced back over his sholder at the smoldering crater that was Gaara. He smiled and was looking up at Gai to see the for sure look of pride on his teacher's face but instead of pride Lee saw horror on Gai's face. "NOW DIE!" Lee had heard Gaara growl from behind him. Looking back again Lee saw tendrils of sand coming toward him at an alarming rate. Following the sand to the Source he saw Gaara, teeth clenched and eyes full of hatered and loathing glareing back at him.
Trying desperatly to scramble to his feet so he could retain a half way decent fighting stance befor the sand reached him only to be caught half way to his feet by his arm and leg. "LEE!!" He had heard some one scream from the stands he guesed it was Gai. "DESERT COFFIN!!!!!" Agony was the total feeling through out his body befor he sank into darkness....

"498, 499, 500!!!" Lee sighed wipeing the sweat from his brow. Again glancing at his arm where it had been once crushed. Shaking his head he started to turn around to head back to Konoha only to bump into something solid and warm. Gasping slightly Lee relized to was a person. "Im sorry please excus-" looking up he met the faded teal eyes from his past. Lee froze "G....Gaara?!"
