Intro: Naruto’s life is perfect, with a loving family and... wait magic and awkward feelings?

A Small light in the Dark

In a small desalinate rural area, where so many houses are scattered, all looking the same. Where no one is out and about walking around, enjoying the cool crisp breeze. The roads are silent of any passage and the crickets are playing their love song, a figure moved through the night. Like a shadow the figure hid well, seemingly to be searching for something. It slithered here and there hunting like a predator.

Then all of a sudden the thing stopped. It turned it’s nose in the air, taking a big breathe it seemed. Then the thing seemingly bent down on all fours with sharp pointed teeth attached to a bone chilling grinning mouth. The figure had found the place at last. His master would be proud of him, and with that the thing vanished into the night.

About fifteen years ago

Dumbledore was in a fix. On one hand Harry Potter could go to his Cousins place, but then Lily and James had said they wanted their child to go to their other family members in some far of place. The problem with that was he really didn’t know where this other place was. Just thinking about it gave him another headache.

Signing the old wizard turned to sweep his blue eyes on his room. The room was clad with gold and crimson colors. The sun was just starting to go down over the mountainside. There were chairs, and tables all about, with weird trinkets scattered here and there. The desk he was currently occupying was scattered with paper work and ink bottles.
Dumbledore turned his attention back to his desk, trying to think. With the vampires and werewolves acting up against the minister, he couldn’t trust anyone else with young Harry Potter.

If there was one person here who knew where this far away place was then it would be Sirius, but he was in jail, that would not do. Dumbledore again looked down at his old wrinkled hand where a harmless piece of paper seeming less lay. He had looked at the thing for over the last two hours trying to think of something. The last hope was to ask the staff if they knew where it was, or he would have to disregard the letter that his good friends wrote before their untimely deaths.
He put the letter down and went to find the professors looking for more answers.
And there laid the harmless letter that would change history itself for it be good or bed is your choice.
Dear Dumbledore

If you are reading this then that means we are dead, and the secret keeper was a failure. James and I would look you to take young Harry, our precious little bundle, to be taken to James brother. He lives in a village that is called Konoha. I don’t want him to grow up with my Aunt since she doesn’t like magic if you know what I mean.

Please do this for us so he can live in his father’s home and grow up big and strong.
Lily and James

P.S -We will be waiting for you old man- James.

Naruto's Word

The Third was in a very bad mood when he looked out of a window that belonged to the Hidden Leaf village. There were scorch marks everywhere, and some of the building were still crumpling. The sky was gray with the smoke that rose, and streets were littered with blood and other obstacles and that wasn’t even the half of it. They had lost a lot of good men because of a demon.

The Demon fox Kyuubi of the Nine tails had attacked the village. The ninjas of the village imminently went on the offensive trying to kill the beast of hell but they couldn’t until the Fourth Hokage came and sealed the fox in a little baby…

Flashback

The fox was stamping around the ground with it’s enormous silky body, killing ninjas left and right with agile grace. It’s mouth hanging open grinning, and showing long dagger like teeth that could snap a tree in half, snarling and growling at the pathetic little flies that dared attack it.

The Demon used his nine majestic tails to swat at incoming kunais, and throwing large trees at the little force whop dared defy a God. Then the large fox jump gracefully into the air, drawing in breath then blowing out huge fireballs the size of houses, catching the unfortunate human’s right in their path of destruction.
‘What a worthless bunch of twigs’ Kyuubi thought, with disgust.

Slinking right up to the village intending to burn it a live, the demon breathed in deep again. Then suddenly he felt something suck his spirit out. Kyuubi turned around roaring and swatting with his huge sharp claws at this human, who dared to think he was equal with him, on a large frog. But it was too late, the human, the fourth Hokage had captured the demon inside a little baby. The demon did have it’s revenge though when the death god that was summoned for this ritual took the soul away from the fourth instantly killing him. Leaving the small bundle with no one to look after.

End Flashback

Now the Third had to talk to the Jounin’s and ANBU, to see if they could take care for this baby that was a hero and not a monster. The villagers didn’t even know the fox was sealed and the third would try to keep it that way.

The Third descended the stairs of the Hokage tower. A building that could be seen throughout, the village. The stairs, marble, making his footsteps click with each passing moment, a small bundle he cared with him to seek out who would take the child in. When he finally emerged into the meeting room there were at least sixty people there, talking among themselves. Some were either wearing ANBU masks with painted looking feral animal faces on them, or like the others, they were wearing a green vest that symbolized the Jounin’s mark. The room was so packaged some people had to wait outside; there were shouting and bickering. It really didn’t help with the lights flickering on off, or the tense atmosphere that seemed to suck the life right out of them.
The Third stood tall up front, looking every bit of a leader, ready to send his troops out to war, clearing his throat he spoke loud and clear.

“As you have already heard we are here to see who will take the Fourth’s child in. I do not want the villagers to know who he is .” The Third stated firmly when all the whispering died down.

He made sure to sweep throughout the crowd, trying to see if anyone knew what this innocent child carried inside him.

“Hokage-Sama why shouldn’t we tell the citizens! They have the right to know that he was the Fourth’s son.” One person said while other nodded in approval.

The Third looked at the young man who spoke silently thanking his stares that they all bought it. It seemed that the baby would be safe for now. With gray hair falling into his eyes, he looked around proud for his people. He opened his mouth to state the next issue but was stopped.

“Hokage-Sama I would like to train him.” An ANBU said, stepping forward from all the others. He had grayish silver hair, that shined in the artificial lighting, spiked up to the side while he had only one visible eye. A a forehead band hid the other one from view with the Leaf symbol on it. On top of that he had half his face covered with a black cloth.

“Thank you Kakashi san.” The Third said smiling at the young man.
“Well if Kakashi is doing it then I want to do it to.”...

“And me too. We can’t have both weirdo’s looking over the kid.” Both voices said and stepped up side by side.

One was a male with green spandex and thick eyebrows, which was unfortunately Kakashi’s rival. The other was a woman of the Hyuuga clan. She had long flowing blue hair with white soul searching eyes.

And so with that the meeting was over, with three people to look after the baby. Somewhere else was another baby boy who was sent to Lily’s sister.

In a field where the grass was long and flowing two dark figures were standing with black hoods on. In the background the sky was gray with silver mist shining in the sky. The first figure walked forward with his hands out. All of a suddenly the ground was shaking, with black lights that appeared out of know where, flying throughout the sky, lighting the desalinate field up. The mist took shape as two greenish silver eyes reveled themselves from the mist itself.

They were narrowed at the two cloaked figures standing at attention, waiting for orders.
“We have found it.” The first figure said holding up a smooth bottle.

“Bring it to me.” The green eyes said.
‘Soon it will be time and I will have what I need’ The figure then turned and...

“Harry you stop watching that TV right now and help pull the weeds outside this instance.” A shrill voice echoed throughout the house. Harry signed getting up, while his cousin took his place on the couch like always.

The three adults worked with Naruto, the baby, and his up brining. The first years were hard for them, taking on missions and a crying screaming bundle of joy. Then came the relationships that just made things more confusing.

It turned out that Nina Hyuuga and Gai fell in love not with each other, which surprised almost everyone at the village (not). They thought that Kakashi and Nina would get married, but they were more like a brother and sister.

It started when the four of them including the baby had rented out a big apartment. The apartment itself was situated in the heart of the Hidden Leaf village. It surprisingly had four rooms and two bathroom. The neighborhood wasn’t that bad either, and people would come around giving them gifts and congratulations for their bundle.

Nina was of course was the one who would take care of the baby most of the time while Gai and Kakashi did missions for money. Kakashi had resigned right after the demon attack and was now a Jounin.
Everything was going smoothly, well as smoothly as a life can be, but Nina wanted something else in her life. It just seemed to be empty. She got fed up with the feeling and demanded a break one fine day on Sunday. It was a sunny afternoon and all was quiet with the baby crying and Nina polling out her hair.

‘I swear when they get back I’m stopping this’. She thought carrying the now semi quiet baby. It seemed Naruto was hungry again. Nina was astonished at first to see the little bugger eat so much.

Around 2:15pm the front door opened to the small apartment, with four people it got a little cramped sometimes.

“Nina how are you? And the youth of tomorrow.” Gai said happily like always, while Kakashi just stood there shaking his head before signing.
Nina smiled sweetly to them getting up. “I’m fine and now you get to take care of Naruto.” She said with gleaming eyes.
They literally, being the good friends that Kakashi and Gai were, said yes imminently. Not wanting the wreath of the devil, I mean Nina, they both corrected mentally.

Nina had left for about two weeks. Kakashi thought he was in hell. He didn’t know how to take care of a baby, and Gai wasn’t much help either. All Gai would do was make it worse. Finally Nina came back after she gave them sort notice of return. When she came back it turned out that she had met a guy from another country and soon married, just like that. The man was about medium height with brown unruly hair and brown bright eyes. His name was Kyo and he happened to be one of the best swordsmen out there. It was pretty ironic to considering the guy was a missing nin and all.

Kakashi had reluctantly said yes they could still live at the apartment, not wanting to take care of the baby by himself, but now they had a problem. There were five people living in the apartment that was originally only supposed to hold around three. They had to go out for more missions, which Gai of course had no complaints.

One year later, Naruto was growing like a weed so they had to buy clothes for him almost constantly. Kakashi would buy beginner books for ninjas. Nina would buy the clothes and Gai would buy the food, with Kyo sitting and doing missions. The group was so popular with the ninjas that they had the nickname “Sphinxes” with all missions they took. (They still didn’t know who came up with that stupid name).

Then the apartment seemed to get even smaller, with Gai and his girlfriend moving in that he met on one of his missions. She had long black silk hair that would always be pinned in the back and would wear kimono’s with a fan strapped to her back. Her name was Ling, she was pretty shy but she could gather her own weight unlike Kyo. She was actually a medical nin that was just below that of the legendary Tsuande.
Now Kakashi had six people in his apartment and lets just say that the apartment was growing rapidly. Ling would now stay home with the baby and Nina. But they didn’t care, they always had stuff to do or talk with other housewives, and Nina would always go to the Hyuuga compound with Naruto and prance around with him literally.

A few more months came around until Kakashi had also got snagged with cupids arrow. All around the village, they were talking about it. Either joking with friends and saying I told you so or just being in denial about it. Yes Kakashi fell in love with Iruka.

Kakashi and Iruka had been working on a mission and well they hit it off so good that they decided to get married once they had enough money and approval. Yes everything was at peace in Konoha. Kakashi would still be late to everything though, but he had a good enough reason now.
While this was happening the baby named Naruto was getting so much attention that he, himself, didn’t know what to do about it. First he saw the pretty girl with long blue hair that took care of him, He liked to call her his mom, then there’s this guy with a weird thing on his head with fuzzy things growing on his face that Naruto loved to pull. And last but not least was the guy who had some kind of black thing covering half of his face with one eye visible. Naruto didn’t know if he was a monster or not but he liked him. Add that to other people moving in and Naruto thought it was a big party or something.

After about three more months in the apartment, everyone decided enough was enough. They all marched into the tower where the Hokage was, with Nina in front. To say the least it looked very funny. No one dared to step in his or her way when Nina was in charge.

Behind her was Kyo with his long sword and strong imitating skills. He seemed to glide through the traffic, sweeping in and out. Next was Ling with Naruto, how was sleeping. Ling seemed to be flowing to onlookers with her majestic striding.

Gai was walking and greeting everyone he saw at first glance, and Iruka had been dragged out of his class, so he looked a little ragged. And finally but not least was Kakashi who was walking casually with a little orange book in his hands literally giggling and having Iruka blush even harder. Despite their appearance everyone in the group felt like hell. It seemed with the small apartment and the baby that it was more then a handful.
The Third was at his desk looking out the big window. Today was sunny and bright with a light wind. It seemed, the Third mused that his plan was well on its way with Naruto being loved.

The villagers didn’t know about the fox in him and his “family” was growing rapidly. The Third was cut short on his musings when a loud crash was heard, and the next thing he knew was a bunch of people standing before him. They were just standing there until the brave and powerful Nina stepped forward.
“Hokage-Sama sorry to barge in like this but the apartment is to small and we all were hoping you had something a little bigger for us.” Nina said while dragging up Ling with Naruto in hand to tie the deal. All the while smiling sweetly.

The Third just laughed and stood up, “I don’t know if we have anymore houses.” He said lightly. Taping his chin looking like he was in thought.

Kakashi also walked up, looking like he didn’t have a good night’s rest in ages. “ Hokage you must have something.” He said while everyone else nodded. For a moment he looked like he was pleading.
“Well I might, but it might be to big.” He said smiling, then he threw a set of keys towards Kakashi who caught it, and practically ran out of the room with the others.

Nina said back laughing at the sight. “Thank you. You don’t know how hectic it has been with three small families living like that.” She said getting ready to leave.

“You do know that I had bought the house sometime ago right? I just wanted to see when everyone got fed up.” The Third laughed closing the door. Nina on the other side just laughed and walked away. The Third was still the same.

The Third walked back to the table looking out the window watching the big group that was only in his office not five minutes ago. He took a puff of smoke, yes that group would certainly have their hands full. He just hoped Naruto would be ready when the time came. Only time would tell if he were destined for magic.

The new house.

It turned out the house was HUGE! It was located near the outskirts of the village. The place was crowded this shrubbery and trees, making it look like a small forest. The house itself was a two-story building, that connected to other smaller houses on either side. It also had a huge yard for playing and practicing ninja arts. The main house itself was an off white color with rock formations all around. The stairs that lead up to the front wooden door was also wood with two stone statues of sphinxes.

The inside was even more beautiful with the carpeting being green and the furniture matching it. They had two long couches and a big screen TV. The place even had pictures, that was already installed into the house, of landscapes. The kitchen was huge, with two islands in the middle. There were even two pantries, with a lot of chairs and a bar.

The bathrooms and bedrooms where either upstairs or down stairs equally huge. The group was so impressed they all wanted the main house so there was only one way to decide.
Straws decided that Kakashi and Iruka were to have the West house while Nina and Kyo had the middle and finally Gai and Ling had the east house.
The West house was a little smaller then the middle one, but it was still pretty huge. It had its own little backyard. The inside was covered in a tan paint with the carpet matching it. They to had a large kitchen with bathrooms and bedroomsalong with couches and a TV to.

The East house had white walls with a tan-ish white carpet and the same with the other houses. Large rooms and great views with televison’s and radios.
The three backyards all connected in the end, and they were leading to a Dojo as Kyo said, or for the others a place to train. The inside of the Dojo place was huge, with wooden floors and paper doors, wooden walk ways everywhere; it was safe to say they were all happy.

So there you have it they all became friends and each took care to train the baby. Naruto by the time he was five knew the history of the village and was starting to learn taijutsu with other things. They still would not let him practice ninjutus until he grew up more. He tried to protest and even got Kakashi on his side until Iruka had said no more sex. Then Kakashi too abandoned him.

Naruto had found out earlier in live who he could pester and not. Nina was one of those you didn’t want to pester. She was demanding but she would treat him like a mother, and she was strict with his history. Kyo was also demanding but not as bad, and besides if he was good Kyo said he would teach him some sword tech. later on in life.
Everyone else was laid back and easy, but Gai still creeped him out sometimes. He would randomly start challenging Kakashi or start sputtering some youth thing in Naruto’s face, or scarier yet doing his nice guy pose with a sun in the background. Just thinking about that gave Naruto the chills..
The routine throughout the years for Naruto wasn’t that demanding, not when you had a loving family to take care of you , and not feel lonely. Naruto would wake up and spar with whomever, while he had training weights on. Then he would learn knew jutsus with Kakashi, but only chakra exercises.

Nina would show him the ropes and small things about medical nin, and with Kyo he would be taught about swordsmen ship. Yes he was doing a lot but he didn’t care because he loved the attention.

When he was about seven they enrolled him in the academy where he could be with kids his age. There he had classes with Iruka, Naruto still wasn’t to sure whether to call Iruka his dad or teacher. He also met other kids his age. Like Sakura and Hinata. He also met Sasuke and Kiba along with everyone else. Naruto wasn’t sure if he liked Sasuke yet, being all high and mighty but maybe he had to show off like that.

“ Hey dobe stop daydreaming and help me.” Sasuke said irritated while Sakura giggled.

Yes Sakura, Naruto’s crush had a crush on Sasuke, and not him but at least she was his friend, a start right?

You see ever since Naruto laid eyes on Sakura he instantly fell in love with her. But she wanted Sasuke like everyone else. Even though Naruto was always goofing around in class it didn’t warrant him not to be liked, he thought, he still couldn’t get Sakura to look at him even when doing daring but stupid pranks.

They were currently in class, the heat today was unbearable. Iruka was in a bad mood on acount of because Naruto thought it would be funny to hide his schedule for today.

Naruto rolled his eye’s at his dad, before looking around. He couldn’t believe it had been at least five years since they knew each other. After the incident with Sasuke’s family, there was a raging fire that took out most of the complex and killed many people, he had moved in with Naruto. Now Sakura would always be over they’re with Hinata and Ino insulting each other like always.

They seemed to have a rivalry with Sasuke and Naruto all the time. Nara the lazy boy who always looked at clouds said it was how girls are which puzzled Naruto.
But then again almost everything puzzled him specially the way Hinata acted around him or when he would catch Sasuke’s eyes on him. He remembered when he first met Hinata.

It was about five years ago, when Naruto and Nina went over to the Hyuuga house to say hi. Naruto had been bored sitting there watching the grownups talk when he walked outside, trying to find something that would interest him. There he saw Hinata practicing throwing stars by a small ravine. He walked up and bluntly stated that she was doing it wrong. Then he should her and that’s how they met.

Naruto broke from his thoughts and looked around, the teacher was talking about other countries, which really didn’t interest him at all since Ling told him about them already. He looked around bored to death then saw Sasuke writing down the notes. ‘What a nerd’ he scoffed. Sasuke was the head of the class, a school president you might say.
“Hey Sasuke you want to go to the ramen stand after class?” Naruto asked quietly. He had been caught talking enough in class today.

“Why not.” He said without looking at him. He saw that Sakura and Hinata would also go and that was why he asked Sasuke teme because where he went the girls went. He looked around at Shikamaru, the lazy bastard was asleep but he had put his thumb up, which meant he would go to. Choij shook his head
and Kiba the dog boy was smiling.

That left everyone except for Shino, which just put his sunglasses on better indicating he would go to.
So the small group left and went to eat at the ramen stand, like they always did. It was a sort of ritual for them, they would come in a big group every week and talk about their lives. Naruto and Sasuke would head home for a real meal after they were done, as Nina always put it. Yes life was great with friends and family what could go wrong? Well Naruto had almost everything except he felt lonely, even when he was surrounded by his friends. He felt like he was just missing something out of his fifteen year life.
“Hey do you think the exams will be easy?” Naruto asked Sasuke on their way home. He really wanted to pass to become a real ninja like his family maybe even a swordsman.

“I now I’ll pass so you should to so stop worrying Dobe.” Sasuke grunted with a small smile. He wanted to grow up and become an ANBU, that way he would protect his “family.”
They walked in the front door only to be greeted by Kakashi and Gai smiling.
Then without a word they both produced weighted training clothes as per their usual monthly due.
“WHAT!” exclaimed Naruto loudly they weren’t supposed to get anymore for at least a week, it was to early.

“For good luck and the power of youth!” Gai said smiling , then he became serious, “I want you to study hard and get into College” He finished smiling again. The two signed before taking weights. Gai always said that towards everything. They were pretty glad they didn’t have him as their Jounin sensei.

They all then talked a little waiting for Nina’s fantastic food. She was the one who made the food, and it was the greatest. Naruto even liked it and he was the king of ramen.
That night they were all at the table laughing and having the time of their lives. Telling joking and competing on such things like who could eat the most, and of course the staring contest against all the males.

During such time Kyo had suddenly leaned in on Naruto. “Hey buddy why don’t we leave after the exams tomorrow and get you a real sword?” Kyo said smirking.

Kyo to Naruto was like an older sibling. They both liked to pull pranks and loved practicing sword tech. It turns out that Kyo had declined to be an jounin instructor. All he wanted to do was find challenges so it was rare to see him eat with everyone, he was usually out.
Naruto face lightened up like the sun at what Kyo had declared. He had always wanted a sword of his own. “You bet.” He said loudly. His blue eyes sparkling. Now all he had to do was study for the exams the school would be giving out.
(That’s the first chapter. Always trying to make stories better.

Naruto: So what’s next?

Brighttears: well to see if you pass or not...

Naruto:.... What?
