Sleep Deprevation

It could only be so dark. So dark that there was a war between the never ending abyss of the darkness that was Uchiha Sasuke’s hair and the vast expanse of night sky that covered this world.

This world that the said Uchiha came to detest. Passionately.

He rolled over on his current bed for the hundredth time that night. Once securing his sleeping position in place he found himself scowling up at the very thing that had him trapped here, in this dark, dark world.

‘Well damn him’ Sasuke muttered in the quiet realm of his mind.

“Hmm” The dozing figure muttered next to him. Almost like he could read Sasuke’s mind. Almost.

“I said, ‘Well damn him’, him being you” Sasuke hissed darkly to his counterpart.

“Now, now Sasuke” the figure replied rolling over to face his now seeminglyveryangryanduncomfortable charge.

“I don’t want to have another argument, seeing as how our last one resorted in you leaving the world of consciousness in a fit of childishness…”

Sasuke’s face scrunched up into a not-so-nice expression. He, that horrible man almost sounded amused. Almost.

“You know,” Sasuke hissed (again, seems Orochimaru really rubbed off on him) “You wouldn’t have to put up with me, if you would just abandone
this silly decision to drag me back to Konoha…”

The larger figure that had once been calmly sleeping next to the rebellious Uchiha—‘well ,other rebellious Uchiha, not like what Uchiha Itachi had done was out of sheer boredom. He resorted to wiping out his ever-power hungry family in the attempt to seem rebellious’, the now-not sleeping man thought contemplatively.

It was honestly hard to contemplate, the grotesque horror of it all.

‘He could have just dyed his hair blue’ The dark figure thought.

The now ever-tired figure sat up to stare down at his capture. Really, he was tired.

“The fact that you just said ‘silly’ has led me to believe you have gone mental on the account of living with snakes. Go back to sleep. We have a long journey ahead of us. And I’m not carrying you.” With that said, Hatake Kakashi, once former teacher of his rather sour student, laid down, now with his back turned to his very, very sour looking student.

“You know,” Kakashi said, as if he was addressing a good friend, “if you hold your face like that, its going to get stuck, didn’t your mother ever tell you that” Kakashi had to wince at the fact that, that last statement was probably a bad idea. Yep.

He could honestly hear the change in breathing of his younger ex-protégé.

Sasuke glared kunai at the other man’s back. How dare he. How—“No, she didn’t…she never got the chance to” he breathed out.

Kakashi sighed for what it seemed like the numerously-high time during this entire debacle.

“Sasuke, I—"

“Shut up, Just shut up Kakashi” and then the furious ex-Konoha Shinobi was up, and out of his sleeping bag and walking calmly, albeit furiously into the brush of forest that surrounded them.

He only got a few feet in before one outrageously strong hand wrapped around his not-so outrageously strong wrist. ‘Damn him!’ Sasuke growled in his mind.

“And where, are you planning on going, hmm?” Kakashi practically hummed in a sing-song voice. “Sasuke-kun” he added for emphasis.

“I am going where I can go..to be away from you!” Sasuke practially yelled “And don’t call me that. He called me that.”

And then Kakashi sighed. Again. ‘Really, of all the missions the Hokage could assign me too’. Not like he would have declined this mission. Sakura’s face was too pleading, and the thought of having Sasuke back…

Well, he really was just lucky that Orochimaru had been detained by some other catastrophe, otherwise, his easy-kidnapping of his former student wouldn’t have gone so swiftly. Really, it wouldn’t have.

“Well! I am tired, let’s go back and lay down, hmm” Kakashi exclaimed, much too ‘fakely’.

“Let’s not” the moody teenager leered. But to contradict his words, his body obliged to his older teacher’s not too nice sounding idea.

‘Whatever’ the now even moodier’ teenager thought ‘I’ll worry about it later…’

As Kakashi now pulled the sullen, trudging missing-nin back to their sleep camp, along came the thought of drugging the said missing-nin. He was really tired.

As he watched Sasuke settle back down into his ‘bag O blankets’ he reached into his bag and fished around for the item he knew they both needed.

Finding it and uncapping it, he looked in the direction towards Sasuke and just sighed.

The boy looked exhausted…spent. And he now wished that he had brought back Sasuke so much earlier, or maybe thwarted his leaving of Konoha.

‘Damn myself’ , Kakashi exclaimed silently to himself.

It only took a second and few movements of his fingers entwining and untwining before he appeared behind the tired, tired boy.

And only a flick of his wrist as the needle pierced the boy’s too soft, too pale skin that encompassed his neck.

“Fuck yo..”, The boy muttered before he fell limp against Kakashi’s strong chest.

And then it happened...again. He sighed.

He carefully laid the younger male down onto his sleeping ‘area’ before taking rest at his own.

But not before he stared down at the boy’s way too ‘pretty’ face. Really, somethings were almost insane, but Sasuke was way too fortunate in the matter of physical appearance.

Brushing Sasuke’s midnight dark strands out his face, he gave one more knowing looking towards the boy before deciding that sleep was indeed important and if he meant to hold onto this boy until he got back to Konoha (and even then), he would need this sleep.

And he meant to hold onto him.
