Prologue
Slowly, the couple slid effortlessly through the thick tree line, forcing the already depleted reserves to the max. Silence was their key to safety and the guardian would not let his resolve falter; not one millimeter.
‘Just a little farther, Shiori, then you can rest. I promise,’ Ryokotsuke willed inwardly to his exhausted sister. Be that as it may be, the small mantra he’d been repeating to himself for the past hour was for his benefit as well.
Ryokotsuke was tired. Ryokotsuke was drained. Ryokotsuke was pissed. It was his fault his Imoto was barely able to withstand the weight on her wary feet. But, there was little choice in the matter. His sister was NOT going to give birth in the pit that bastard deemed her living structure. He swore, by the seven hells, that even if it took his mortal life and soul he’d save her from his previous failures.
“Aniki, I think….I think I can see the gates,” Shiori panted, still moving quickly through the forest. He voice was heavy and tired as she forced the words through chapped lips. “Do you think the other Shinobi can sense our approach?”
“Mostly likely, Shiori-sama,” he responded deeply, his words vocal yet near silent all in the same. “Are you prepared?”
Slowing the grueling pace set by the girl herself, Shiori stopped short of the up coming river. Catching her fleeting breath, she gently held the semi-swollen belly that descended from her midsection.
The visual was not lost by Ryokotsuke as he surveyed his sister’s movements. But, for the moment he let the whole scene slip away. There were more pressing matters to attend to. He knew the pregnancy was wearing on the girl and her travels, but the faster they reached Konohagakure the sooner she could rest properly.
“Hai, and stop calling me by that silly honorific,” she snapped with a smirk belying her tone. “Set your genjutsu; then we move.”
Closing his cold eyes, the man pulled the power that laid quiet deep within his body. Sluggishly slow the smoldering embers sparked the ashes in a molten wildfire as the flames licked sensually throughout his form. It was always so after suppressing the chakra for long periods of time. Ryo knew this, but it still unnerved him. Yet, he could no deny the physical pleasure that assaulted the blood pounding through the veins.
Ceasing any movement, even hallowing her breathing until she was nearly suffocating, Shiori willed every fiber of her body still until she almost bleed into the lush forested background.
‘Damn it, Ryo-kun, you’ve been deprived for too long of your rightful rule,” she nearly cried as she watched the effects of withholding her brother’s power. It just wasn’t fair to her valiant hero. She knew this, but it did little to ease the sadness she felt as the whole act played out.
“Shiori,” Ryokotsuke hissed as he quickly performed the correct seals, and then slid the illusion in place across his sister’s natural form. Settling it perfectly, masking its presence, he was certain no one would recognize the genjutsu.
She felt the tiny pricks of power dance over her skin as the jutsu was applied. Smiling a bit at the odd, familiar, sensation of her aniki’s power dance along her body, Shiori saw more than felt the changes.
“There, all done,” he said quickly. “How do you feel?”
Widening her smile to an innocent, sweet, curve of the lips, she replied, “Perfect, as usual brother.”
Ryo saw the smile actually reach his sister’s eyes as she answered him, and that horrible gnawing attacked his gut once more; followed by the onslaught of overwhelming guilt. ‘Savior you naïve innocence now, little sis, our feature may abruptly stop once we reach those gates.’
Shoving the downer mood he’d set in his thoughts, Ryo cracked a small smile of his own towards Shiori. Only briefly was it seen, and then quickly hid behind a curtain of heavy hair. Dirty, gritty, and probably smelly hair. ‘After were settled, a bath is definitely in order,’ he sighed.
“Ready?” she asked.
“Hai-hai,” he answered.
And then they were off once more. Little to their knowledge the pair were being followed as well as watched. Well, that wasn’t the complete truth. Ryokotsuke has picked up on their unknown trailing companion a while back. He noticed the energy of the other after the first change of direction.
He has hoped that it were just a wayward traveler that just happened to be going the same path. But, after the second and third course alteration he knew. They were being indefinitely followed.
The devotee to their journey had yet make an appearance, or get to close; and hasn’t hindered the process, so Ryokotsuke decided to leave them be. Who knows, perhaps his luck was turning…
Mostly likely not however.
OKIES…well those are my original characters. I do hope you like them! I had this idea, and as embarrassing as this is I am going to tell you, while I was on the pooper!
It just sorta hit me! I wanted to create a different kind of NaruSasu get together, but for once…*Bleaches and is really going to say this out loud*…wanted to have a plot line. I had been working on a few other stories, that I completely hated the direction they’d taken, and wanted something that…well…had meaning.
I was so amazed by the new author’s I have seen posting, and their fucking great stories, that I was….inspired. YES, the queen of PWP was inspired to write something with plot and character development.
*Grins*….and just to let you know, cause I know you’re dying to know, this is actually completed. Albeit on my laptop and needs to be converted onto my main PC, but it is done. Perhaps for some yummy bribes I can give hints….well…maybe.
I hope you enjoyed the prologue and I look forward to helpful hints on how you like were it’s headed.
Thanks and Ja,
