Jounins' Night Out
A/N: I’ve read several fics on this site that had Kakashi and the others drinking and hanging out at a bar and thought I’d give it a try myself. This was originally going to be the third chapter of Shadows of the Past but after writing it I felt like it didn’t really fit in with the rest of the story but was worth keeping as a Missing Moment Fic. I hope you enjoy it and please remember to R&R.

The next evening Raven finds himself wishing he had gone with Hinata instead as he follows Fei-sensei to a local bar and stops at the door as his former teacher opens it for him. “Fei-sensei you do remember that I’m underage right.”
“Hai,” the older Jounin answers. “However, as a Jounin you are now legally an adult so your age doesn’t matter.”
As they walk inside they find the others sitting at a back table. From what he can tell Anko and Gai are already a full bottle ahead of the others. Kakashi and Asuma are both on their third round while Kurenai
and Shizune are only on their first.
As they take their seats on either side of the group Raven can’t help but notice that Anko is scooting her chair uncomfortably closer to him. “Where you been hiding cutie?” the intoxicated kunoichi asks. “I ain’t seen your pretty face around here before.”
“Anko-chan,” Fei says trying to get her attention. “You’ve met Raven-sama before.”
“Raven-sama?” Anko asks blinking several times to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. “D-A-M-N you’re cute without that damn mask of yours.” She then pours him a drink. “Welcome to the club kid,” she says saluting him with her cup before downing her drink.
“Arigato Anko-sempai,” Raven says taking a sip of the sake. He grimaces as the liquid burns its way down his throat. “Okay, that’s just bad.” Raven says as he calls the waitress over. “A round of your finest sake for me and my friends and keep them coming.”
“I’m sorry sir,” the girl says. “But we do not serve alcohol to minors.” She blushes as the others laugh at her comment.
“It’s okay,” Kurenai tells her. “Raven-sama is a Jounin so it is legal for him to be here.”
“My apologies,” the girl bows. “I did not realize your status Raven-sama. Your order will be taken care of immediately.”
As she turns to leave Raven grabs her arm gently and places some money in her hand. “In case I become too drunk to remember I’ll give you your tip now. Also put the bill on the Hiroku tab.”
“I-I can’t I-can’t do that sir,” the girl stutters. “Hiroku-sama will get furious if a stranger bills his clan’s tab.”
The others laugh again as Raven politely smiles. “I’m sorry for embarrassing you like this. I should have introduced myself before. I am Raven Hiroku, Heero-sama’s youngest son, and I have the authority to charge my clan’s tab so you are not in any trouble.”
The girl nods and goes to get their drinks. “One drink and the boy’s already forgetting things,” Asuma laughs. “Fei-kun we’ve got a real light-weight here.”
Raven looks at Asuma and grins. “You think so.” He then looks over at his fellow Hiroku Jounin. “What is it you and Koga always use to say? Drink what you can; drink what you’re able. But if you’re drinking with me you’ll be under the table.”
“I highly doubt that,” Asuma laughs as he lights a cigarette.
“Care to make a wager on that?” Raven asks.
“What’s the bet?” Asuma inquires.
“Loser runs around Konoha in his underwear saying the other’s the greatest.” Raven smirks. “Still up to it?”
Asuma glances over at Kurenai nervously as if asking for her opinion. She just shakes her head as she takes another sip of her sake. “Sorry kid,” he says leaning back in his seat. “I can’t embarrass you like that.”
“Hey I understand,” Raven says as he pours himself another drink. “You’re too old to hang it‘s nothing to be ashamed of,” he taunts the older man.
As predicted Asuma took the bait, slamming his fist on the table. “Set them up.”
Nearly an hour later Raven is leaning back in his seat comfortably finishing off his seventh bottle when Asuma finally falls out of his chair. “Guess he wasn’t as old as I thought,” Raven tells the others. He gets up and helps Kurenai put her inebriated lover back in his chair.
“I don’t understand,” Shizune says noticing Raven’s sobriety. “How come you’re not drunk?”
Raven grins as he looks over at Fei, “You want to tell her or should I?” His former teacher takes a sip of his own sake as he signals for Raven to reveal his secret. “I only actually had three shots,” he admits. “I shadow walked the rest into Asuma-sempai’s cup while he was drinking.”
“You did what?” Kurenai asks as she nearly doubles over laughing. “He’s going to be so pissed when he finds out he fell for it,” she giggles.
“He never said he’d actually be drinking,” Kakashi reminds the others chuckling along with them. The rest of the evening was spent talking and drinking. After what happened with Asuma none of them were willing to try drinking Raven under the table, though Anko had tried drinking him into her bed. Thankfully Fei volunteered to take her home, though no one heard from him the rest of the night

A/N: The line Raven uses was from the movie Leprechaun 2. I liked it so much I just had to use it for this scene.
