"This isn't much fun, hm."
"It's not supposed to be.."
"That doesn't mean it can't be."
Sasori was getting fed up with this. His partner wouldn't shut up, and he was so slow with completing his tasks. It seemed he was more focused on how he looked while doing it. Deidara seemed to love flashy exits, and entires. While Sasori preferred the more quiet approach to things.
"Sasori no danna."
Honestly, he didn't mind being called master that much. But when a male does it, that isn't exactly lower in stature to him, it made him a little uncomfortable, to say the least.
They had been traveling for almost three days now, on their way to Suna. Their mission was simply to check up on the current Kazekage, Gaara's father. The fourth was said to hold ties with Orochimaru, therefor he needed to be watched closely.
"What it is?"
Sasori replied with a hint of irritability. Deidara 'hmph'd' and paused for a long moment, testing Sasori's patients even further. "What do you think about making a quick stop at Konoha.. yeah?" Sasori closed his eyes. "Orochimaru might have been a traitor. But at least he wasn't this clueless.." He mumbled to himself. Deidara turned his head, a small pout on his face. "What was that?" Sasori continued on without answering Deidara's inquiry. "Only for a brief moment."

The Akatsuki team made a left at the next sign on the dirt path, and ventured into the Hidden Leaf.

Haruno Sakura had just reached the tender age of 10. Her days usually consisted of following Ino around and dreaming about Uchiha Sasuke. He was the one that everyone wanted, after all. She was slowly beginning to become more outgoing, instead of letting Ino stand up for her every time she got into trouble.
"S-Sasuke-kun I.. I u-uh.."
She'd just been paired up on an assignment with Sasuke. What luck!
"What is it?" Sasuke asked rather bluntly. Sakura nearly dropped the piece of paper when he spoke, but her grip remained firm. Maybe a little too firm. She could feel her fingers start to tear the delicate material, but she couldn't seem to stop. "I was just.. um.. you see, I.. what I mean to say.. is.." There was a long pause, before Sakura gathered the courage to form a proper sentence. "Wh- where should we look for the first item on the list?"
Sasuke stared at her for a moment, before answering. "A cosmos flower should be right at the outskirts of the field. That one, over there." He outstretched his hand to where a large field was. It was where Sakura and Ino liked to go occasionally. "H- hai! Sure!" Sakura answered eagerly.

Deidara and Sasori had just reached the village's gates. They had made sure they were disguised long before reaching the border. Sasori had taken the form of one of the chuunin seen around the village regularly, Kamizuki Izumo. While Deidara, ironically, had chosen his comrade, Hagane Kotetsu.
Needless to say, the passed the guards with little trouble. They didn't seem to notice that Deidara had forgotten the bandage that Kotetsu usually wears across his nose. Once they were out of range, Sasori informed him of this. "Idiot." Deidara chuckled at his insult. "They're the ones who didn't notice, yeah."
Sasori had to admit; Deidara was right. The security had become too relaxed in Konoha. It seemed they had almost forgotten about the Uchiha slaughter. He would have to make a note to inform Itachi that his handy work may be tragic, but it didn't last very long.
Sakura and Sasuke had just arrived at the edge of the field. The flower usually grew near stone, and Sakura's quick eye caught it immediately. She was glad she had spent so much time with Ino and listened to her talk so much about flowers. Ino would make a wonderful flower arranger one day. At least, Sakura thought she would. "Sasuke-kun, look, look!" Sakura exclaimed, picking the flower and showing it to him. Sasuke's face held an almost ghostly smile, and he nodded in approval. "That's good. Next is an apricot seed."
Sakura immediately knew where that would be. How lucky could she get? Being placed on an assignment that was so easy for her, and with Sasuke-kun! She certainly hoped Ino was having fun with Shikamaru. "It should be near the tree over by the red bridge." She moved to look over, when she noticed two figures walking in the distance. "
"Izumo-sama! Kotetsu-sama!"
