After Revenge

This is my second fic. I know the end is a little rushed but I'll explain more in the next one.

Shikamaru stared down at that famous black rock. It had been two months since a new name had been added. The name of his Teacher and friend. Asuma was dead and Shikamaru felt guilt flow through his body. It anyone should have died it should have been him. The only relief he felt was the fact that knowing he had been the one to kill the man that had taken away his sensei’s life. Shika looked at his watch, he was going to check up on Kurenai, he had a promise to fulfill and he would be there with her everyday of her pregnancy and after the baby was born. He had made that promise and he was going to stick to it.
Shika left the stone and made his way to Kurenai’s. After several hours there helping her he went home. It was dark out side. Though he didn’t mind the cool air felt good against his face. He was brought out of his pointless thoughts at the sound of his name being called. He looked up to see white eyes and long hair, at first he thought it was Hinata but it was too skinny to be her. Not that she was fat or anything just that she had curves now and this body was slim in straight, from what he could tell. So that only left one person who it could be.” Neji,” Shika nodded at the man that was walking towards him. “ Nara.” Neji replied.
There was a long silence before The Hyuuga spoke again. “ I didn’t think that you were the night time walk type Nara. I figured you’d be asleep by now.”


Shika shrugged.” I was at Kurenai’s.” he replied wondering why he was even answering in the first place. His bed was sounding like a good idea now that Neji said something.
Neji studied the slightly younger boy in front of him. Ever since Asuma was killed Shikamaru had been showing a lot more energy. Though since it was Shika, it was still a lot less than other Shinobi.
Though one thing everyone had noticed lately and had them worried was the fact that Shikamaru had not watched clouds since Asuma’s death. Neji knew Choji was worried, he had heard him at the barbeque place one evening after work.


Neji stared at the Shika then did the unthinkable. He opened his mouth and asked Shika.” Why don’t you watch the clouds anymore?”
The Shadow user was startled. True it had been a while since he had watched the clouds but he had better things to do. Though he wasn’t bothered by the question it did make him think. Were others wondering? Or was it just the Hyuuga genius noticing something. “ I have responsibilities now.” Shika replied.
Neji watched him taking in the boys looks. He had always thought Shika attractive but, too lazy for his taste but Neji was realizing he missed the laid back Shika.
“ You and I should watch clouds sometime.” This really threw Shika. The great Neji wanted to watch clouds with him. It just didn’t seem possible. Shika discreetly pinched himself. Nope he wasn’t dreaming.
So how should he reply. He should decline. He had better things to do now. “ Sure, sometime.” he replied. What the hell?! He asked himself. He hadn’t meant to say that. He wanted to tell Neji no but he just hadn’t been able too.
“ Good, I’m free Wednesday. I’ll see you then.. Oh and Shika Don’t make me hunt you down.”
Neji grinned then disappeared.
Shika walked the rest of the way home replaying the weird conversation over and over in his mind.
He had always thought of Neji as a cold unfeeling type but now the guy was offering to watch clouds with him.

Shika made his way to the small apartment that he had just bought. He had moved out of his parents tired of the bitching that his mother did.
He took off his clothes and made his way to bed though instead of falling asleep he laid there thinking of all the things he had to do tomorrow.
“ How troublesome.” he murmured before turning over on his side and staring at the picture of Choji, Ino, Asuma and him his rookie year. Letting out a deep sigh Shikamaru closed his eyes and feel asleep.

WEDNESDAY.

Neji sat on the bench that he had been told that Shikamaru like to sit and watch clouds at. Neji not really knowing exactly where Shikamaru like to watch clouds had asked Choji and had been told this what his favorite place. Sighing he looked around. Shika was late. Neji had left him a note earlier in the week telling Shika where to meet him.
Neji gave a faint growl he had told Shika not to make Neji hunt him down but it looked like that was just what he had to do. Getting up from the spot Neji poofed around asking people if they had seen Shika.
He hit big when he talked to Ino. He swore that girl had radar. “ yeah he’s at the practice grounds. “ she told him while handing flower to a customer.
Neji nodded and left the flower shop. He found Shika soon after. He watched Shika’s body as he moved through the air practicing his ninjitsu. It bewildered Neji that he was here doing this instead of with him watching clouds. What happened to the lazy boy that they all knew and loved.

Neji walked out onto the field and grabbed Shika in midair as he kicked. Slamming the boy against the nearest tree Neji looked into his eyes and said. “ I told you not to make me come look for you.” Then pressed his mouth against Shika’s. He heard the younger boys gasp and felt his body jerk. Taking advantage of the boys open mouth he used his tongue. He moaned. Who knew that Shikamaru would taste so good.
