“The Hall of Damnation casts suspicious shadows my Lord.” Kabuto said. Lord Sasuke glanced around the Hall. It did seem a bit off today, but the young lord believed in showing no fear, no anger, and no slight disturbance to those inferior to him. They could get too many ideas with a vulnerable throat exposed. A man who is not careful could wind up dead.
“Does She not always cast shadows?” the raven haired lord replied, frost covering every word. Lord Wrath’s mood seemed to get sourer and sourer with every passing second. The white haired demi-fey got the hint that there would be no decent conversation until after the summons ended. Kabuto gracefully stepped in front of his lord to open and hold the doors open for him.
The welcoming parlor was distinctly different from the hallway they just exited. Warm, soothing earth tones coated the walls and the furniture. Red eyes ignored the calm setting and turned toward the lone figure lounging on the caramel colored couch. Lord Wrath nodded in a half bow, a gesture of acknowledgment.

“Sasuke! No need to be so formal!” the old man nearly yelled and then burst into a set of giggles. On and on the old man babbled about pretty girls and yummy foods.

Sasuke fought the urge to twitch. There lied Jiraiya, Lord of Souls Lost and King of the Unseelie Court, apparently drunk and off his rocker if he thought Sasuke enjoyed being summoned just to babysit him. If the people back home saw him now they wouldn’t believe that this was the King, the one leading them all to victory.

Sasuke’s eyes narrowed. The saki bottle was still three-fourths full. Jiraiya was faking it. Sasuke focused his eyes on the old man and quirked an eyebrow. The playful persona melted off of the sidhe lords face.

Expression a shock of grave seriousness, Jiraiya said, “We found Itachi.” Kabuto felt tension snap into place. His lord lowered his gaze to the floor and clenched his fists. It was a full century since they last heard anything from or about the elder Uchiha. A full hundred years since the Uchiha massacre, and now the prime suspect appears.

“ I called you here first because I didn’t think you wanted to be indisposed in front of the other Lords. He’s in Los Angeles.” Jiraiya’s black eyes observed him closely. The last Uchiha was so young, just under a thousand. No one should have to put up with the shit he had to even at an old age and yet the kid just kept on trying. He even made the position of sidhe lord, first person to do so with half the usual age qualifications.

Sasuke raised his eyes from the pale eggshell coloring of the tile floor to look at the King. All business now Jiraiya was. In a deadpan Sasuke asked, “So? What do you expect me to do?” in a grave tone.

Jiraiya straightened. “What can you do, Sasuke? Tell me that.” Sasuke’s face hardened. “My job. I can do my job. I can bring my brother in and if he is found guilty.....all I ask is that I can be the one to blow that cocky smirk off his face. We’re brothers after all.” he dead panned. Jiraiya studied him a bit longer and nodded his head with a smile. “Good, but regrettably you won’t be bringing him in.” he said. At the lord’s look of shock and anger he added, “because added to the possible past crimes of the massacre Itachi Uchiha has been exposing the fey to the public. He wasn’t doing it purposely, but he wasn’t taking the time to cover it up either. He has broken the rules along with a few other run away sidhe. They call themselves the Akatsuki. All of them have committed crimes punishable by death or worse. When we catch him, your brother will die.” Jiraiya allowed no mercy. Sasuke had to face the truth.

Kabuto shivered as his lord turned cold. His red eyes looked contemplatively at the tan walls as if they knew the answer to everything, and then he turned to Jiraiya.

Kabuto hoped he never had to see that expression on anyone’s face ever again.
If you could call that an expression. It was totally devoid of any emotion.

“So?” the young man spoke, nothing in his voice, so Jiraiya smiled a sad smile and called the rest of his sidhe.
