Come Pray at my Shrine

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. Or Sasuke. Or a shrine.
Summary: “Come and pray with me, I need the company. We can’t all be alone in this world.” Naruto finds a strange connection with Sasuke. LIME, Yaoi, SasuNaru, some fluffy SakuIno.

Sasuke ran his hands over the familiar markings and frowned at them. He was an avenger, and he needed power but he couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe this wasn’t the way. Mangekyou sharingan, that was what Itachi had, but he would have to kill his best friend to get it. Only one person seemed to qualify for that role, and Sasuke had seen many people fail in the attempt to kill him He smirked slightly at the thought, the boy sure had come a long way. A thud from above the hiding place shook Sasuke out of his reverie, he looked up and saw that he’d left the mat out of place.
‘Shit, someone’s going to find me,’ He thought and ran to the level above. He closed the entrance and covered it once more with the tatami mat just as someone entered. Sasuke bowed quickly so that it looked like he’d been praying the whole time. He muttered some random prayer under his breath as the footsteps came cautiously closer to him.
“Sasuke?” A familiar voice asked and he looked up to see Naruto. He couldn’t help but frown at the sight of him.
“What do you want, dobe?” Sasuke raised an eyebrow at him.
“It’s a public place, I can be here if I want to,” Naruto frowned back, Sasuke found himself thinking that the blond looked rather cute when he was trying to be annoyed.
“You’ve picked an odd day to show up,” Sasuke rose and went to leave. “It’s some kind of holiday, isn’t it?”
“Yeah…” Naruto’s gaze shifted to the ground, a look of actual pain crossing his features. “Today is the thirteenth anniversary of the demon fox being sealed away…” In me, Naruto added in his mind. Sasuke stopped in the doorway, he didn’t look back but he knew what look was on Naruto’s face at the moment.
“You came here to pray for your parents?” It was more of a statement then a question, and Naruto nodded as Sasuke glanced over his shoulder. “I came for mine, too,” I came to learn how to avenge them, He thought bitterly. Sasuke walked out of the shrine, leaving Naruto to pray in peace.
They had both lost people, even if it was in different ways. Naruto had never known family and was isolated from the people of the village for being different. Sasuke lost his whole family in a single sweep, except for his brother who had done the deed. The people of Konoha hadn’t done anything to reach out to him and help him, but for him it didn’t matter. Unlike Naruto, he spent extra time on studies instead of trying to get attention. Still, the two had a lot of things in common. They both desired power, even if it was for different reasons. Sasuke shook the thoughts from his mind, he was an avenger and it wouldn’t do for him to get attached like this. Someday he’d have to kill his best friend, Naruto, to get the kind of power Itachi had.
“Sasuke!” The blonde’s voice broke him out his thoughts. He turned around, surprised to see that Naruto had just run out of the shrine behind him.
“What?” Sasuke looked bored, he was in a brooding mood and he had a hard time thinking around Naruto. There was something very distracting about the energy-filled blond.
“Come and pray with me, I need the company. We can’t all be alone in this world,” Naruto said, waving for Sasuke to come back with him. The raven-haired boy thought about it for a moment, glancing at the village. What had they ever done for him? They’d left him to suffer the loss of his family alone. He didn’t have any reason to go there. Sasuke looked back up at Naruto, who had a friendly smile plastered on his face, and followed him inside the shrine.
They went in quietly and Naruto went over to a mat on the opposite side of the shrine as the mat hiding the Uchiha’s secret meeting place. Sasuke smirked, it was almost as though there was an ominous feeling he got from it. Naruto knelt and looked up at Sasuke, waiting for him to do the same. Sasuke knelt on the mat next to Naruto’s and they both bowed in prayer.
Poison. That was the first thing Sasuke thought as the ideas crept into his head. There were too many things he could do here, with Naruto, as they were completely alone. Sasuke looked carefully over at the boy next to him, who seemed to really be praying. It brought a smile to his face that someone who’d never known his parents could be so dedicated years later.
The thoughts poisoned his mind, distracting him from his prayer. Sasuke sat up and stared straight ahead, unsure of what to think. It was a chance he didn’t want to take. Naruto noticed Sasuke’s mood and sat up with a frown.
“Is something wrong?” Naruto asked. Sasuke scowled at the question. Of course something was wrong. He was stuck here, with the loudest ninja he’d ever met, and he can’t seem to find a reason to leave. Something was very wrong with this picture. More so because he wanted to be there.
Sasuke felt confused and reached unconsciously for his holster. It would be so simple to end things here, right now, but he found that wasn’t what he really wanted to do. Naruto saw the movement and prepared for an attack, he didn’t know why Sasuke was acting so weird all of a sudden. The tension in the air had tripled and Naruto couldn’t understand it. They were understanding each other not so long ago, and now Sasuke was distant again.
“Sasuke?” Naruto said, trying to get a reaction from the boy. This time, it worked but nothing like he’d expected. Sasuke captured Naruto’s lips with his, causing Naruto to put his arms out to keep from falling over as he blushed furiously.
Poison. That was the first thing that flashed across Naruto’s mind. He didn’t want to do this with Sasuke. He didn’t want to get this involved with anyone. But for some reason, Naruto opened his mouth and ran his tongue over Sasuke’s lips, which immediately parted so that he could have his way. It was like poison running through his veins, warning bells sounded for them to stop this while they still could. Thoughts screaming for one of them to hear them out. But lust was a poison, and it tainted their every thought. Only one thing mattered to either of them now.
Sasuke felt the rush of excitement pulse through his body when Naruto’s tongue met his. It wasn’t long before the Uchiha had Naruto on the floor underneath him, hands exploring each inch of the other’s body. They each slipped off their shirts, smooth muscle rubbing together gently. All the time they had spent together on missions, training, every ounce of rivalry and friendship between them melted into a pool of lust and animal desire. They both had their doubts, and they both knew this wasn’t good but they just couldn’t stop.
“Come pray at my shrine,” Naruto broke the kiss and whispered in Sasuke’s ear. His dark eyes flashed mischievously as he worked to undo Naruto’s pants. Without further ado, Sasuke began to suck and lick Naruto’s cock.
The blonde’s back arched as his hips tried to push his member further into Sasuke’s warm mouth. The Uchiha took Naruto deep into his mouth, massaging with his tongue and bobbing his head. Naruto grabbed Sasuke's hair, urging him on eagerly. Sasuke responded hotly, increasing his tempo with every sound the blond made for him. Naruto moaned deeply as he shot his load down Sasuke's throat, Sasuke licked the residue away and kissed his way back up to the blonde’s face. Capturing him once more in a lip lock, Sasuke ran his hands down Naruto’s well-built frame.
“Ready for more?” Sasuke teased, gently nibbling Naruto’s ear. The blond nodded with a groan and Sasuke pulled away slightly. Sasuke undid his own pants and placed Naruto’s knees over his shoulders.
“That already?” Naruto asked in surprise.
“Hn,” Sasuke sent Naruto a ‘shut up’ look and shoved a finger into the boy’s hole to emphasize his point. Naruto gasped and slammed his fists down on either side of him as the new sensation ran through his body. Lust was a deadly and painful poison.
Sasuke pumped his finger in and out slowly at first, watching Naruto’s reaction carefully as he went. Slowly, he slipped another finger inside of him, scissoring as he saw Naruto reach up and start rubbing his member. Sasuke felt his own loins tighten and added a third finger, watching Naruto gasp.
When Sasuke removed his fingers Naruto looked disappointed but didn’t question him. The Uchiha slid up closer to Naruto, putting the blond's legs over his shoulders. He waited for a slight nod from Naruto before going on.
When Naruto finally nodded, Sasuke slammed his hardened cock into Naruto. The boy grunted at the new feeling, and rubbed his member harder. Sasuke found he could lean forward slightly as he pumped slowly, gaining speed as he went. Naruto growled deeply when Sasuke found his prostate, a sound Sasuke smirked at and he began pounding deeper into the boy.
Naruto grunted and moaned heavily as he felt a warm sensation building in his stomach, Sasuke watched this wtih pleasure. As he felt his own orgasm mount he slowed just enough to kiss Naruto, passion mounting with every beat. The blond was the first to climax, shooting his load over both of their stomachs and chests. Sasuke soon followed, relaxing against Naruto as he withdrew his softening member.
Both were out of breath and panting deeply, Sasuke flopped down next to Naruto. They looked into each other’s eyes, neither said anything, and Sasuke gently cupped a hand around Naruto’s face, even though the poison was wearing off he still felt a strange affection for the boy. When Naruto brought out his hand to take Sasuke’s, Sasuke smiled because knew it was mutual.
It was when Naruto rolled over and straddled Ssuke that the Uchiha was surprised, and he was about to see just how much stamina Naruto had.

It had been a few days since the incident at the Shrine, and now they found themselves waiting with Sakura for Kakashi to arrive. It had already been one hour, so he would likely show up in another two. The three teens were incredibly bored, they’d been doing this for years and yet they still showed up on time.
“We should really start coming later,” Sakura sighed. “Or just have something to do.”
“Hn,” Sasuke said and got up to leave. Sakura looked shocked, like she’d said something to offend him.
“Wait! Where are you going?” Sakura jumped up as she watched him go. Naruto watched the scene in silence, a rare feat for him.
“I’m going to pray at my shrine,” Sasuke said, and looked meaningfully at Naruto with a smirk playing on his features. “Coming, dobe?”
“Grr, don’t call me that, Sasuke-teme!” Naruto ran after Sasuke, whom just evaded any attempt to be caught.
“Hey, can I come?” Sakura asked sweetly, and both boys stopped to glare at her.
“NO,” They said in unison, and ran off quickly as she stood staring in shock.
“Wh…What?” Sakura was puzzled. They almost never acted like this. Usually if it was something boring like that they’d let her come.
“Something wrong, Sakura-chan?” Kakashi appeared, holding his favorite book limply in one hand.
“Oh, nothing. They just left,” she answered with a fake smile.
“Young boys have needs, you know,” Kakashi opened the book and started reading.
“Huh?” Sakura just felt more confused and her sensei sighed.
“You’re a ninja, go do a reconnaissance mission if you want to know what they’re up to,” Kakashi said and turned a page. Sakura smiled up at him and took off in the direction that the boys had gone. “Doesn’t even suspect, poor girl.”
The silver haired jounin continued reading. A few birds flew by and the breeze caused the trees to gently sway. It was a beautiful day--and then it was pierced by a familiar scream.
“She found them,” Kakashi shook his head, hardly noticing how the rain had started to fall.

(quick note: There is no smut following this part, just plot. If you only wanted Yaoi then it's over, sorry!)

Rain soaked her through as she ran blindly from the scene. Sakura wasn’t even aware of when the rain had started to fall from the sky, the gray of the clouds matching her mood. She knew that by now her hair was a mess and her tears would smear her mascara. Sakura didn’t care anymore. He was with Naruto.

Sasuke, the boy she’d loved for so long, was with Naruto. And she hadn’t just caught them kissing, Naruto had been working his way farther down. Sakura still couldn’t believe she’d seen it. Not only was Sasuke allowing the blonde’s advance, he was encouraging it.

Sakura was jarred from her thoughts as she fell to the ground. She cried out in pain as she landed on a rock. Purple rose to the surface of the skin on her leg and Sakura rubbed it gently as she rolled over. The rain was cold against her skin and she held her head back, allowing the water to run over her skin. It was soothing in a way.

“Why?” The pink haired kunoichi asked the sky. One tear found it’s way down her cheek as she sat there. It felt as though her heart was ripping in two, and she allowed the coldness to envelope her.

“Shouldn’t we go after her?” Naruto looked up at Sasuke. He was still on his knees, but Sasuke was re-buttoning his pants. Having the girl scream at the sight of them had ruined the mood.

“Hn,” Sasuke replied, it was about then that that the two teens noticed the drops falling from the sky.

“She seemed pretty upset, think she’ll be okay?” Naruto asked, standing to look his lover in the eyes.

“Sakura’s smart, she’ll manage,” Sasuke said and turned to leave. Naruto pouted for a moment before following. Sasuke sighed, he knew he’d just been tricked into looking for Sakura somehow.

A nearby training area…

“Come on, Chouji,” Asuma said as his pupil lay on the ground. “We only started a few minutes ago!”

“But now it’s raining!” Chouji whined, wishing for a bad of chips to magically appear in his hands.

“This is troublesome, I don’t want to train in the rain,” Shikamaru said and started to walk away.

“Guys, we need to train!” Ino frowned as they all began to leave the clearing.

“We’ll catch up later, Ino. No one’s stopping you from practicing on your own,” Asuma said before they left. Ino grunted and pulled out a few shuriken for target practice.

‘I’ll never beat Sakura if I don’t practice, and she’ll never notice me again if I don’t beat her,’ Ino thought grimly. She launched her weapons at the targets- and missed half of them. ‘I’ll never get this.’ Ino went to retrieve the shuriken, but as she approached the targets she heard a sob.

Her ninja training took over and she crouched next to a target, retrieving a nearby shuriken. There was another sob and the realization dawned on her. Team 7’s training area wasn’t very far from where she was. She heard the sound again and knew who was crying.

“Sakura?” Ino stood up and looked in the bushes. There was a flash of pink to her left, and she saw Sakura watching her.

Watery emerald eyes widened in surprise. Sakura’s hair and pale skin made her stand out in the bushes, and Ino could clearly see the scratches and bruise she’d gotten. Ino moved closer, Sakura’s eyes watching her curiously. The blonde crouched carefully next to her childhood friend and gently pushed the pink tresses away from her face.

“What’s wrong?” Ino asked, her voice full of concern. A rebellious tear slid down Sakura’s cheek. It hurt Ino to see that something had made Sakura react this way and she couldn’t do anything about it.

“I-Ino…” Sakura sniffed and bowed her head, more tears slipping out. “H-He…w-was with…Naruto… Alone. In the woods…”

“Oh,” Ino’s eyes widened as she realized what Sakura had probably seen. “I’m sorry,” Ino placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder. Sakura looked up into her friend’s eyes for a moment, seeing something she’d rarely noticed before. Before Ino knew it, Sakura had seized her around the middle and buried her face as she cried. Ino slowly snaked her arms around the girl’s shoulders, leaning her jaw on Sakura’s head and held her protectively. Even though it was just a moment, it was one that would forever be one of Ino’s favorites.

Naruto darted around all over the place, checking every tree and bush he saw. Sasuke rolled his eyes and half-heartedly checked places that Naruto missed in his fervor. He didn’t think Sakura would be in any trouble, even if she did get a bit emotional sometimes. But Sasuke couldn’t help but smirk at Naruto’s enthusiasm. The blonde wasn’t doing too well search wise but his heart was in the right place.

There was a soft sob from the edge of one of the clearings they passed through. Sasuke frowned and looked around. With a glance at Naruto, he knew he hadn’t heard it. Sasuke heard it again and decided to check. Sasuke slipped away wordlessly and crept towards the source of the sound.

Ino felt Sakura relax in her arms, the rain still cascading down around them. Sakura looked up towards Ino, their grips relaxing much to Ino’s disappointment.

“Ino, I’m so sorry,” Sakura said, hiding her face once more.

“Why?” Ino was genuinely confused. Sakura sensed this and took a chance, meeting Ino’s eyes once more.

“Well… We stopped being friends… Because of him…” Sakura’s eyes went wet once more. “And that…was stupid. I’m sorry it happened, I-”

Ino pressed a finger to Sakura’s lips, silencing her and getting a look of surprise from her. “I’m sorry it happened too, but you know… I never liked Sasuke that much.”

“What?”

“Well, I did for awhile, but I like you more-“ Ino flushed as she realized what she’d just said and continued her nervous drabble. “So… I pretended to like him. If we were fighting then at least you’d notice me.”

“Ino…” Sakura looked at her with wide, green eyes. Ino felt her cheeks turn even pinker as Sakura stared. “Why didn’t you say something?”

“I… didn’t think you’d believe me,” Ino said and Sakura nodded sadly. She knew she tended to be too suspicious at times. The rain falling was the only sound they heard for what felt like hours, though the soft sounds the drops made no longer seemed so morose.

“I’m sorry any of it happened,” Sakura said.

“Don’t be, we’ve still got each other now. Right?” Ino smiled, and Sakura smiled weakly back. A raindrop fell on her cheek, washing away some of the smeared make up. Even bruised, scratched, and smeared, Ino was impressed with how beautiful the pink-haired girl before her could look.

And once again, Ino felt Sakura wrap herself around her, this time with a small laugh. Ino joyfully hugged her back, not even the cold rain could dampen the happiness she now felt. Sakura was her friend again, and nothing would break that bond.

Sakura, being full of surprises, pulled back slightly. She met Ino’s eyes silently, confused blue ones watching emotional emerald ones and a silent communication passed between them. Ino knew it was coming, but a jolt of joy still flew through her body as Sakura’s lips met hers. Ino subconsciously drew Sakura closer to her, ready to deepen the kiss when Sakura pulled back. Ino was surprised once more, and saw that fear had graced Sakura’s features.

“I-I’m s-sorry. I d-didn’t know what I was doing, a-and-“ Sakura started, her face flushing.

“Sakura,” Ino said calmly, a smirk growing on her face.

“I-I j-just needed t-to-“

“Sakura,” Ino sounded less patient this time.

“A-and you w-were j-just-“

“Sakura!” Ino finally got Sakura to look at her, “Shut up,” Ino commanded and kissed her again. Sakura melted into the embrace and Ino deepened the kiss successfully this time. Ino knew that if this was what Sakura needed right now, then she’d give it to her. No questions asked, and no problems later. Sakura somehow knew it too, but didn’t care at the moment. They both came up for air and Sakura snuggled herself into Ino’s arms. Ino held her once more, smiling the whole time. Yes, this was a moment she was not likely to forget.

There was a rustle in the bushes, and Ino looked up. Sakura didn’t stir, she hadn’t noticed it. Ino tightened her grip ever so slightly, moving her hand down so that she could reach a weapon if needed. A dark figure stood there watching them and Ino glared. It was probably one of her teammates coming to tease her. She raised her eyebrows in surprise when Sasuke came close enough for her to see him.

He regarded her coolly, studying the situation. Sakura was in Ino’s arms, and Ino looked ready to pounce if he were to step closer. They didn’t even need to speak to understand each other. Sakura was hurting because of him, and Ino was giving her what she needed right now: someone to hold her. Sasuke took a step back, nodding his understanding.

Ino’s glare faded into a small smile as he turned and left. She heard him faintly talking to Naruto in the nearby clearing. Glancing down at the girl in her arms, who had apparently fallen asleep. No surprise, it had been a trying day for the poor girl.
xXxXx

“Where’d you run off to?” Naruto asked Sasuke when they came back.

“Found some shuriken, thought maybe she’d done some practice without us. I was wrong,” Sasuke said, a surprise mouthful for the normally silent boy.

“Okay let’s try over here,” Naruto started back towards the bushes.

“NO! This way,” Sasuke ran in the other direction. Naruto stopped and looked at Sasuke like he was insane.

“Uh…Ok…” Naruto said, wondering why Sasuke was suddenly so keen on finding their teammate, but he followed anyway.
