Chapter 1
†--------------------------------------------------~¤~----------------------------------------------†
About 12 boxes filled the main room of a nicely sized apartment. There was one for the PC, one box for the computer screen, one for the printer, one for the speakers, mouse and keyboard, one for DVDs and games, one for CDs and picture frames, one large one for the stereo, one for notebooks, one for her bedding and pillows, and three for clothing. There was a mattress against a wall and a wooden futon frame blocked the hallway. A computer desk stood in front of the entertainment center.
One girl with raven locks down past her rear and piercing blue eyes stood on one side of the frame, giving small pants. Another female, with slightly shorter hair, same darkness and crimson orbs stood on the other side, huffing angrily.
“Why is this frame so god damned heavy!?” the crimson eyed female, also known as Kagero, exclaimed, glaring daggers into the wood.
“Gee, I wonder…” The other, Yumi, said blankly, rolling her icy eyes. “Let’s just get it into the spare room before I change my mind.” She lifted her end of the bed and waited for her friend to do the same. They were only a few more steps from the room and once it was inside, Kagero could move it wherever she wanted.
Kagero’s hands lifted the bed and helped Yumi carry it inside the room to the far wall.
“Just think... If we hadn’t been able to rent a van, we would have had to take it apart and then put it back together.” Yumi muttered, moving out of the room to go get the desk.
“You’d be doing that on your own.” Kagero retorted, starting to grab her boxes of clothing.
“I don’t think so. It’s your bed. You’d be helping to build it.” Yumi snapped, beginning to move the computer desk into the room. “Where do you want this?”
Kagero paused, setting the box she was carrying down in a corner. Her eyes looked over the room. Then, a finger pointed to the wall to the left. “Down there, closer to the bed.” One end was against the wall to the right, giving space between the other end of the bed and the wall to the left.
Yumi nodded, sliding the desk to where the other wanted it. The blue-eyed girl then proceeded to bring in the box that held the PC and she plugged it in to the outlet. After getting the screen and the keyboard, mouse and speakers, she began to plug everything in, and then took the extra cord she bought for the Internet and hooked the Internet up. The last thing for the computer was the printer. Yumi brought that box in and hooked the printer up.
Meanwhile, Kagero had brought in her dresser and set it up next to the door. She had brought in all her boxes of clothing and got them into the dresser and hung up her jackets and hoodies in the closet. As Yumi finished setting up the computer, Kagero carried the box that held her CDs and picture frames into the room.
“Hey… Clear a path and help me bring in your mattress.” Yumi muttered, then moved to where they put the mattress. Kagero was soon at the other end and they lifted, carrying the mattress to the futon frame.
Once it was set up, Yumi wiped some sweat off her forehead. She moved out of the spare bedroom to set up Kagero’s DVDs and Games separately from her own.
Kagero grabbed the box with her bedding and made her bed, putting the pillows at the end away from the computer desk. The red-eyed female lugged her stereo into her new room and plugged that in, setting her CDs up next to it on her CD tower. Next, she brought in her box of notebooks. After glancing around, she walked out into the living room, eyeing Yumi. “Where can I put my notebooks?”
Sighing, Yumi looked up from what she was doing, looking to her friend. “I.. I think I have a shelf that I don’t need…” She stood and headed into her room, opening her closet to pull out a shelf. “You can hang it low enough to be able to grab them easily…” Yumi then went back to what she was doing before as Kagero took the hammer and nails from the dining room table and went to hang her pictures up and then the shelf. The female got the notebooks set up on the shelf and then looked around the room. It was finally finished.
Emitting a heavy sigh, Kagero strode from the room into the living room. Plopping onto the couch, she closed her eyes.
“Hn.. You’re lucky I’m nice and let you move in…” Yumi muttered, moving to plop onto the chair, swinging her legs over the arm rest.
“Yeah, well.. Thanks.. I guess… Who knew Sasori could be that loud…”
“TMI, Kagero.. TMI….” Yumi stood and headed into the kitchen, grabbing a Mike’s Hard Berry for herself and made up a strawberry daiquiri for Kagero. She idly wondered why she liked that thing, but shrugged and walked back out. “Neh… Here. I figure you need something after moving the shit. And after having to hear your sister and Sasori having sex in the room next to yours.”
“Don’t make fun of me… It wasn’t nice having to hear them…” Kagero said, pouting, which only made Yumi laugh.
“Baka, don’t pout like that ever again. Pout to that Professor that you keep checking out.”
“Kakashi-sensei? What, he’s hot.”
“No… He’s not.” Yumi opened her drink, taking a long gulp of it. “Ah... tastes so good…” She whispered, looking at the bottle.
“Eh…” Kagero muttered, sipping at her own drink. Then, a smirk crossed her features. “Yumi-san…”
“Oh god.. What do you want now?” Yumi glared at her over the top of her bottle.
“Well… Akari never let me bring Neji over…” Kagero stopped, letting the other figure out what she wanted.
“…Just warn me before you bring him over so I can leave until he’s gone. You’re my friend, but I don’t want to be here if you and Neji do anything.”
“I’m not going to do anything with him!” Kagero huffed, crossing her arms. Standing, she grabbed her drink and headed to her room. “I’m going to bed!” She exclaimed and then closed her door.
Snickering, Yumi finished her drink and then headed to her room, which was down the hall and to the right from Kagero’s. It was Sunday and they had to get up early for classes, unfortunately.
Plopping onto her bed, she pulled the covers up to her chin, rolling onto her side. Hopefully, Kagero will get a job soon and get the money to get her own apartment. Then Yumi can have the place to herself once more. She drifted off to sleep, not looking forward to going to classes the next day.
