The ground shook from the intensity of the battle. Trees swayed violently as chakra flared from two distinct sources. Kunai daggers flew from every possible direction, only to be deflected or incinerated on the spot. Voices, raised in anger, taunted each other and increased the ferocity of the battle.
“Usuratonkachi!”
“Teme!”
“Dobe!”
“Bastard! Why can’t you just admit that my battle skills have surpassed yours?”
“Never…do you understand? NEVER!”

Your blood like ice
One look could kill
My pain, your thrill

Two figures paused in battle; chests heaved as lungs tried to fill with oxygen once more. Blue eyes glared at obsidian ones; sparks flew whenever eye contact was made. One heart beat, rapidly, to the insistent desire for superiority. The other…pounded with unrequited need and passion alone. On an unspoken command, the figures clad in orange or black lunged towards the other in a desperate attempt to obtain the upper hand. Each combatant flung a fist towards the face of the other…knuckles collided with the flesh. They flew apart and slammed into the ground behind them. Slowly, the boys pulled themselves from the ground.
“Dammit Sasuke! Why are you fighting this so much?” Naruto panted. He ruefully rubbed his injured cheek.
Sasuke ran a clenched fist under his nose and flicked away the blood that flowed from it.
“Answer me, damn you!”
“Naruto, you ask why I fight this? I fight because an Uchiha does not give in. We fight until we win or die trying!”
“FINE…don’t expect me to let up on you then!”
The battle commenced once more.

Naruto attempted to gather his chakra to form the Rasengan. Sasuke, like wise, tried to build up enough chakra to perform the Chidori. When the two powerful jutsus connected, the bodies were flung across the battlefield. Naruto and Sasuke landed flat on their backs and panted. They sat up at the same moment and stared at the path of devastation between them. A long trench of destroyed earth bore witness to the power consumed in the mêlée for domination.
“Naruto…”
“Sasuke…”

Each boy pulled himself from the ground. They slowly moved towards one another, trying not to be the one whom turned away first. Finally, as they stood face to face, they met in the middle. Sweat dripped from their faces and dropped to the ground. The level of body heat rose as Naruto stepped towards Sasuke and grabbed his shoulders. Sasuke uttered a small gasp before Naruto smashed his lips against the stunned brunette’s in a forceful kiss. Naruto licked and nibbled Sasuke’s mouth, as he demanded total surrender.
“Mmmphf…”
“At last, you’re mine.”

Sasuke pushed Naruto forcefully away. His eyes opened wide with shock as his fingers touched his lips. He saw blue eyes glower from the loss; why had he done that? Most of all, he wondered, why wasn’t he beating Naruto to the ground for having kissed him? Did Naruto know how his number one rival felt and denied all the years they had known each other? Did he? How could he possibly know?

“Sasuke…don’t push me away. I finally figured out why we fought so much. We may have started out as rivals; but, it has grown into something more. Even when you left to kill Itachi, I knew that you would come back to me.”
“No-I came back because…because…” he stammered.
“You came back because you wanted me…completely and totally in your life as your friend and lover. You can have all that but you have to give in and accept what your heart has felt all along,” Naruto whispered.

Naruto pulled Sasuke back into his embrace. At first, Sasuke resisted the gentle tugging. Finally, he gave in and tilted his head so that Naruto had access to his throat. Naruto smiled against his skin before he started to lick the sweat from Sasuke’s inflamed flesh. Sasuke moaned deep in his throat at the roughness of Naruto’s tongue and urged him on.
Naruto slowly dragged his tongue along Sasuke’s chin and flicked it against the brunette’s lips in quiet demand for entrance. Slowly, lips parted and allowed greater access to teeth and tongue. As the kiss deepened, Sasuke felt his legs quiver with an overwhelming yearning for things to continue to another level.

Naruto broke off the kiss and stared hotly into obsidian eyes once more.
“If this is what you want, I will give you everything my heart, body and soul have to offer. But, there’s a catch: I want the same in return. We are partners and equals…together no matter what happens. I can tolerate that way the idiots of the village treat me. But, it will kill me if you cannot handle this and decide to reject me.” He gently pushed the Uchiha away and turned his back on him. Slowly, he walked away from his heart’s desire and left the battlefield.
Sasuke stared at the orange clad back as it moved away from him.

Sasuke was shocked: did he just tell me ‘take it or leave it’? Who the hell does he think he’s talking to? I am Uchiha Sasuke, dammit! The thoughts whirled rapidly in his mind.
‘Do I want this? Has this been what all the fighting has been leading to? How the hell can I feel this way about someone I spent my entire life, trying to out-do? What am I supposed to do now?’
He glared at Naruto’s figure as it got smaller and smaller.
‘I’ll be damned if I go running after him like some deprived fan-girl! But, I…’

Naruto trudged back towards the village, his body sore and his heart on the verge of breaking.
‘He’s not coming. I poured out my heart to him like an idiot and he still can’t feel anything for me in return. What a fool I am!!! Damn all of the Uchihas for being a bunch of cold-hearted assholes!’
He swiped at the tears that started to roll down is cheeks. He squelched the urge to turn back and kick Sasuke’s ass for making him feel unloved and miserable. Suddenly, he felt a hand grasp him by the shoulder before he was spun around. Sasuke stared at him with confused look on his face before he pulled Naruto into a gut-wrenching kiss of epic proportions.

Sasuke broke the kiss and pulled Naruto forward so that they were nose-to-nose and forehead-to-forehead.
“Don’t you ever walk away from me like that again.”
“Then, don’t give me a reason to walk away from you.”
“Dobe…”
“Teme…let’s go home.”
Not far away, hidden in the bushes, two kunochi stared as blood poured down from their noses.
“Oh my…that was incredibly HOT!” the pony-tailed blonde said as she handed some tissue to her pink-haired companion.
“See…I told you so. Where’s the money you owe me?” she said as she dabbed the blood off her face.
