Naruto set the pen down, and looked over the newest entry into his journal one more time.
Star Light
Star light,
Light my way fill my heart with love
So I can find a reason to be
Be all they will ever need
There was pain
Pain untold
Buried deep into my soul
It filled my mind with thoughts so black
So hold me now
In light so bright
Wash away my pain
So I might learn to live
Not to cry
Hold myself strong so no one sees
This pain inside
So deep in me
If I wish real hard on that bright star
To fill my heart
I might see
A reason to live left inside of me.
He resealed the scroll and placed it back under the rolled futon in the corner of the room. One of these days Naruto hoped that he would be able to share his true emotions with everyone. No, for now he puts his mask firmly back in place and gets ready to meet is team on the bridge for their morning training. One of these days he will leave that mask he scorns so much at home, and finally let himself be just that, himself. Until then his smile is plastered on his face and tears are held deep within. Only he and Kyuubi know what truly goes on behind the false eyes and fake smiles.
************************************************************************ “Good morning Sakura” shouted Naruto as soon as he was close to the bridge.
She did not even jump or visibly show that she had heard him, now this bothers him a little, but he was use to it. The moment he was in reach Sakura whacked him on the side of the head for being ’impossibly loud in the morning’. She gave him the same lecture each morning, and each morning he pretended to listen. If only they would pay attention to him when he was quiet, then maybe he wouldn’t have to be so loud.
In his self rant Naruto failed to notice that Sasuke had arrived, only looking up because the screeching had stopped abruptly. Slowly Naruto met Sasuke’s eyes and put on a fake smile while saying “good morning teme”.
Sasuke’s eyes widen as he sees the smile is fake. ‘Wonder what is up with him’.
He did not have long to ponder when, on time for once, kakashi showed up at the bridge.
“You’re late…” both Naruto and Sakura went to say at the same time, until they realized that for once, he was not.
“Sensei” Naruto said hesitantly. “Is everything ok, what is going on your always late?”
“Can’t a teacher show up in time to see his favorite students” Kakashi said with a smirk, which made the three think something was up even more. “We have a mission, so go home and get ready. We will meet at the front gate in 30 minutes. So go.”
The three members of team seven just stared at each other for a minute before racing off. They could always find out what was going on when they were on their way.
