The Gift
“There is no need to be upset Sasuke-kun, we'll only be gone a week.”
“Do you realize how much training I'll miss in a week?” Kabuto smiled indulgently at the young Uchiha.
“I've brought you a gift that may take your mind off of it. That is, if you want it.”
Sasuke sighed and rolled his eyes. “Fine, show me this 'gift'.” He knew Kabuto too well, there was some ulterior motive behind this gift, but it didn't hurt to see the gift and it could help with his training. Kabuto lead the young genin to the teen's own bedroom. He turned to face Sasuke just before opening the door, a smirk on his face.
“I really think you'll like this, just don't tell Orochimaru-sama.” He winked, then opened the door. Sasuke stepped into the room; his eyes quickly found the gift that lay tied up on his floor. Sasuke raised an eyebrow.
“What do you propose that I do with that?”
“Oh, I'm sure that you'll find something.” With a secretive smile, Kabuto closed the door on Sasuke and the unconscious blond that lay bound on his floor.
Two Days Earlier
“Remember Naruto, I want you to meet me at the hotel in three hours.” Naruto waved the statement off.
“I'll be there Ero-sennin, don't worry. Now can I go? I heard that the local ramen shop is really good.” With his master's permission, Naruto raced off to the shop that he had seen earlier. The server came in looking anxious; Naruto assumed that it was because of his headband, not every ninja was trustworthy.
“I'll have the biggest bowl of miso ramen that you serve!” The man nodded and rushed out of the room. Almost immediately, the server returned with his order. “Wow, you have awesome service!”
“Th...thank you.” The man paused, glancing at Naruto, before rushing out again, a hurried “Enjoy your meal.” hanging in the air behind him. Naruto shrugged at the odd behavior, but thought nothing else of it.
“Itadakimasu!” Naruto clapped his hands together before digging into his meal. It was slightly different than any ramen he had eaten in the past, but assumed that was simply how this country ate their ramen. It wasn't until he had finished the noodles and was slurping the last of the broth that Naruto noticed how funny he felt. The world seemed to sway a bit and he was having trouble concentrating. “Wha...” He attempted to stand, but fell back onto his seat.
“I believe that your teacher warned you about what would happen if someone knew your weaknesses, Naruto-kun.” Kabuto came out of the back room, where he had been hiding.
“Kabuto!” Naruto tried again to stand, but faltered and would have hit the ground if Kabuto had not caught him.
“Now now Naruto-kun, you are in no condition to be walking around. Here, let me help.” Kabuto threw the barely conscious teen over his shoulder and sprinted away from the shop, the town, and the only person who would know of Naruto's absence.
A.N. Hey guys, this is my first Naruto and I was hoping that people could give me an idea of whether or not this sounds like it could be a good fic. Thanks in advance for the critique.
