My Dearest Sempai..

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay, if you have no idea when Deidara dies, it's far into the Shippuuden manga. I'm not sure what happens afterward, so I'm just gonna wing it. If you're not sure who Tobi is, He's the goofy, naive partner Deidara receives after Sasori's death. I luff different couples! ^ ^;;


The explosion could be seen from possibly every far corner of all villages, So bright, so powerful, it shook the Earth below Tobi's feet.

"D-Deidara-sempai!!", Tobi shouted, but he was much too far to be heared, espesially with the sonic boom that filled the air. The masked nin watched in horror as flames and smoke engulfed the spot his sempai and his target once stood. Smoke and rubble touched the sky. When the Earth no longer shook, Tobi shot off into the direction of the explosion, screaming and shouting the entire time. "Sempai! Seeeemmmmpaaii!!!" He halted before a giant crater.

"Oh, gods.." Tobi's voice was trembling and full of worry for his partner. He slid down into the enormous hole, nearly tripping and falling in his haste. He slipped to the bottom, but his sempai was nowhere to be found. He slowly turned his attention to something glinting in his peripheral vision. He walked slowly over to the tiny object in the scorched dirt.He bent over slowly and picked up the object and gasped.It was Deidara's small, blue-green, index finger ring. Tobi felt tears roll down his cheeks, under his mask.

"D-..Deidara...Sempai.." His beloved blonde was gone, taken by fate.. He fell to his knees and threw his mask carelessly to the side covering his eyes and weeping like a child. What would he tell the leader..What could he say? His sempai was dead..

He heard a low grunt from across the crater and slowly looked up with tearful eyes. The raven, the man who caused his dearest partner to kill himself. He was somewhat burried in the sand, Problably was his defense from the explosion, Tobi thought in the back of his mind. He was bleeding badly from the mouth and had several different injuries.

..His stomach must have torn.. Tobi mangaged to exammine through his pain and anger. The raven was struggling to remove himself from the hole he was in, but his arms only sank into the eroded sand, his mouth dribbling blood from the sides of his lips profusly.He didnt seem to even notice the sobbing Akatsuki not but 20 meters from him. His hands slipped again and he fell face first into the dirt, falling unconcious after shuddering some.

Tobi blinked and rubbed his eyes, then standing and walking over to the Uchiha boy.Tobi couldnt help but glare down at him with teary eyes, some of those glistening and falling onto the back of Sasuke's head. Tobi sighed and turned away from the boy and began to walk away. He paused amd sighed. He couldnt just leave the Uchiha to die like that..

Tobi sighed and went back for the boy..

There was a distinct buzzing noise in his ears and he felt numb from head to toe. The Uchiha felt like he was falling, falling but to no end and all was pitch black. Then the black opened up and his blurry vision faded to a small waterfall. He blinked slowly, findin he couldnt move well. It hurt too much. He decided to stay still and look in on his surroundings. It looked like an underground cavern with the waterfall and small patches of grass. He also caught sight of another person, sitting next to the waterfall. Sasuke couldnt see his face because of the orange mask he wore, but he knew him. He..He was that one Akatsuki's partner..Had he helped to raven? ..Why..?


Sasuke looked to the side of where he lay. There, neatly folded was his bloody, ripped shirt, katana, and other Sound nin acessories. He looked back at the Akatsuki nin, who seemed to have not looked away from the watterfall, but Sasuke still could exactly know. He moved his arm slowly from under the blankets that covered him as quietly and smothly enough not to cause him much pain. His fingertips just barly had the chance to graze accross the handle of the blade when the other ninja finally spoke.

"Don't.." He muttered, still not looked away from the water before him. His voice was broken and gloomy.

Was he crying? Sasuke asked himself. He drew his hand back from the blade and blinked at the nin.

"..Why did you help me?" Sasuke asked. No answer came.

"What will you do with me?" No answer came, only a small sigh.Sasuke found himslef a bit fustrated.He attempted to sit up, but his body wasnt exactly cooperating. His body shook violently and the pain was unbarable. The Uchiha grunted in pain, wincing some.

"..You shouldnt strain youself.." The other nin said, his voice cracking on the last few words. He walked over to Sasuke and kneeled down next to him. The raven flinched away from him, earning a small jolt of pain, making him wince again.

"You should calm down..I wont kill you.." The man's voice almost seemed friendly under the sad tone in his voice. "My name is Tobi.."

Sasuke blinked. "...Sasuke..Uchiha.." The raven muttered, slighty glaring at the man who was in the same organazation as his brother.

Tobi pointed at the boy's arm and stomach, which were bandaged but were bleeding through.
"I think you need some new bandages..But I bet you wouldnt want me to touch you agian, huh?"

The Uchiha stared at the man. "..Why are you doing this..?" Tobi was silent for a moment.
"..Because I could just let you die back there.." Sasuke's eyes slightly widened some at the Akatsuki's statment. He hadnt expected any Akatsuki to be so nice..

"But.."

"You should put the bandages on and get some sleep." Tobi tossed him some bandage wrappings and stood up and walked away out of Sasuke's vision without another word.

Wait..His partner just died..Why is he being so damn nice to me?? Sasuke sighed some and tried putting the wrapping on as best he could without inflicting too much pain on his frail body before laying back down and drifting off to sleep.

Tobi sighed as he walked out of the cave and into the night. He stared up at the huge full moon above. He imagined his sempai soaring across it on one of his huge flying clay monters.He felt the tears form in his eyes again..

"Eh..? What's this,Un? You're not crying are you, Tobi?! How pathetic, Un.."

Tobi shook his head and fought himself from starting to cry, he knew it was something his sempai would NOT stand for..

"Sempai.." The thought of what the Iwa ninja would have done if he had caught Tobi crying was oddly comforting to the auburn haired man. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes in silent prayer for his beloved comrad. Then he bagan gathering firewood.

He would make a fire for the Uchiha boy.He was always nice, or at least tried to be..Even if it were Sasuke, the boy who...Tobi sighed again and headed back to the cave with his bundle of wood. When he entered, he looked over to where Sasuke had been sleeping and gasped. The boy wasnt there! Tobi set down his wood and looked around the small oasis. He froze when he felt and eerie aura from behind and whipped around, only to be met by a fist to the face. He let out a small shreik of terror, surprise, and pain. His mask flew off to the side and he fell to the floor. As quickly as he could, he tried to locate his mask and place it back over his face. But the Uchiha grabbed Tobi from his Akatsuki jacket collar and shoved him into a wall. Tobi closed his eye tight, his heart pounding against his heart like a hammer. He heard the Uchiha grunt in pain from all his moving around, but kept the Akatsuki pinned on the wall.Tobi slowly opened his eyes to the raven, who was only wearing his nin pants.

"H-Hnn.." Tobi whined as a kunai pressed against the soft flesh of his neck.

"Now.." The Uchiha said. "You'll listen to me..Where is Itachi Uchiha?!" His voice was harsh and husky from the extreme pain he was feeling in his stomach.

"..I..I d-dont know.." Tobi replied shakily, one eye on the Uchiha, it wide and confused.

"You liar!" Sasuke shouted,shaking the other man voilently, making him hit his head harshly on the stone wall.Tobi cried out in pain.

"N-..No really..!" Tobi's eyesight went blurry for a moment, then feeling a warm liquid run down the back of his head. He gulped as Sasuke activated the sharingan onto Tobi, Onyx meeting scarlet.

"P-Please..Sasuke..I..I just want to help you get better.."

"Oh, right! I bet you went to tell my brother where I am right now!" Sasuke shook him again, gripped hands on the other's Akatsuki jacket trembling with pure anger and hatred.

The pain in Tobi's head made tears form and he couldnt stop them this time. "Sasuke..I dont know where your brother is..I swear..! I'm sorry...I'm so sorry.." The tears ran down his already stained cheeks, Tobi's eyes closed tightly. "I'm sorry.." He kept repeating it over and over, and suddenly Sasuke realized he was telling the truth. The sharingan retreated and Sasuke felt bad. Tobi hadnt done anything, he was only kind to the raven since the fight. Then Sasuke realized the the older man wasnt apologizing about anything he had done. In fact, he wasnt even apologizing to Sasuke. He was apologizing to his partner, for not being there to stop him from killing himself in the fight, and more things that the orange masked nin had done in the past to make his sempai mad.. Sasuke let go and watched as the man slumped to the cave floor, continuing to murmur the same thing over and over.

"I'm sorry..I'm just so sorry.." Tobi couldnt stop himself anymore. He just wanted his sempai back.. Sasuke kneeled infront of the other nin,wincing at the pain, but his eyes somewhat kind.

"I.." He sighed, knowing that he problably wouldnt be able to find the right words to say.He did the only thing he thought he could do. The same thing he'd do to comfort Naruto. And the same thing Sasuke's own brother would have done..He wrapped his arms around the man and took him into a comforting hug. This surprised the man to know end as he gasped at first, his eye wide, yet still teary, and his heart hammering in his chest. No one hugged him like this..Not in his past..Not Zetsu-san..Not even Deidara-sempai..Tobi blushed slightly and swallowed some.

"It's okay..I'm sorry.." He heard the raven murmur. Tobi accepted the hug, but didnt return it as he knew he semapi would surly not approve.

Once he had calmed down enough, Tobi pulled away and blinked awkwardly to the ground. He managed to smile and looked back to Sasuke.

"Thank you.." He said. Sasuke gave a breif nod, a placid expression as always.
Sasuke stared into deep onyx pools, before exammining the rest of the man's face more closly. He had a few scars on his face, and he left eye seemed to be stitched up and unworking. But he was quite handsome. One of the most normal looking ninjas he'd seen from the Akatsuki. Tobi blushed as he noticed how intently the younger man was staring at him.

"E-Er..Sasuke..You can let go of me.." Sasuke blinked as he noticed he still had his arms on Tobi's shoulders. He immediatly took his hands off and remained placid. Tobi stood and whipped his eyes, ignoring the pain in the back of his skull.

"I'm sorry about that.." Sasuke said, still sitting on the ground. Tobi smiled.

"Heh..It's fine!" Sasuke stared at the smile-- possibly the most beautiful smile he'd seen before and he couldnt help but smile back somewhat.Sasuke chuckled and stood. He froze as he immediatly felt the pain rise in his stomach again. Tobi walked over to pick up his mask and place it back over his face. He beamed back at Sasuke, but immediatly frowned.

"Sasuke?" The boy didnt answer, he turned quite pale and looked in extreme agony. The Uchiha felly to his knees and suddenly, blood spurted from his lips and onto the cave floor in a rather large puddle. Tobi gasped.

"Sasuke!" He ran back to carry Sasuke back to where his was sleeping. He layed the young nin down and placed the blanket over him.

"You seriously need to rest. No getting up tomorrow..I'll go get you some healing medicine, hold on, kay?" Sasuke smriekd and chuckled lightly, despite the fact it hurt like hell.

"Thanks..Tobi.." Tobi smiled and walked quickly away to grab the medicine.

Ohh..Deidara-sempai, forgive me..
