Behind Blue Eyes

He turned his blue gaze up to look into the darkening sky. He stilled loved this village, but how could he protect it if people hate him so much.

Dark eyes looked out over the stilled lake. He turned his eyes toward the star filled sky as his mind muddled through his reasons for living. My brother is dead, why am I still here?

His blue eyes closed as he thought back to how every time he walked down the streets of Konoha he received murderous looks and had rocks or rotten food thrown at him. He never ventured out alone anymore. He was scared. He wouldn't admit this to no one else, well, except one person. . .

As he stood on the lakes’ shore he remembered how he hated walking through the village streets. All eyes on him, all praises for him for being the strongest ninja in the village. ‘I'm not!’ he wanted to shout at those fools. Their praises were directed toward the wrong shinobi. The dark nin stared at the moon's reflection on the surface of the lake. So calm, serene above, but beneath. . .

He turned his blonde head toward the lake. The moon reflected full and bright off the surface of the water. His dreams were so big. All he ever wanted to be was Hokage. But now he had doubts that his dream will not come true.

"Why would they want me for a Hokage?" He asked the wind as he stood and jumped to the nearest tree, traveling toward the lake.

The dark nin sat down on a large tree trunk that laid near the water's edge. Why am I here?

"Sasuke?" His voice floated on the night breeze. Sasuke turned to see Naruto standing there looking at him with. . .

Naruto could see that the Uchiha eyes were clouded with worry; he didn't like to see him this way. He smiled, as long as Sasuke was by my side . . .

Sasuke could see a smile spread over the dobe's lips. Something pulled in his chest, warmth flooded his body. Then he understood as he got to his feet. Once he reached Naruto, he pulled the other man into his arms.

Sasuke asked again, 'why am I here? ' as he felt Naruto's arms go around his waist, pulling him closer. Smiling, 'I'm here for him,’ he told himself as he leaned back to looked into clear blue eyes.

Naruto smiled, he could see that Sasuke's obsidian eyes had softened. He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the dark nins lips. Breaking the kiss Naruto leaned forward again until his lips were inches from the Uchiha’s ear and whispered, "I love you." As long as Sasuke is by my side I will have the strength to believe in my dreams. The blonde nin thought as he pulled Sasuke closer.

Relaxing against the one person that understood him, that loved him for him, he felt a sense of peace inside of him as he stood there with the one person that was precious to him.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If only I could have put music to this. The Limp Bizkit song “Behind Blue Eyes” (hence my title). This song reminded so much of what Naruto goes through...**sniff** *curses self for not being a computer genius*
