Prologue: Introducing…
Hi, my name is Uzumaki Naruto. I’m 15, and am about to finish my third year of Junior High, making me a ninth grader for those of you that go by that. I do moderately well in school, but I’m by no means a brain and it takes a lot of work to maintain my B/C average. It’s worth it though; I have big plans for my future and my grades will help me get there. My favorite subject is P.E. because I’m athletic so it’s the easiest, despite the hassle of locker room changing and showers… but I’ll get to that more later. Woodshop was kind of cool when I had it, but I only started at this school in the middle of that class and that semester ended awhile ago already. Art’s cool, too, even if I’m not some artistic prodigy.
My least favorite subject is… hmm, Math, maybe. No, history, yeah… okay, well, they tie. History can be interesting, like when it’s in movie form, but in the classroom, with all those facts and dates to remember? Ugh! Science subjects are cool sometimes when we have in-class labs, but bookwork bores me. And as for Home Ec… I detest it. That’s what replaced woodshop this semester. Though I do okay in it—I do like food, after all, and it’s useful to know how to cook some things for myself besides ramen, even if nothing will ever beat ramen. It’s the rest of it that bugs me, the sewing and childcare lessons and… all those stereotypical housewifery things that are required. Most of all, though, it’s the fact that I’m forced to take it… but I’ll get to that more later also.
School life as a whole is pretty cool for me, though. Now it is, at least. I have a few friends I hang out with and we have fun, most of the teachers aren’t too bad, even if I do have a tendency to get into trouble for “random mischief”. Most of all, though, this school gave me a clean start when I moved here with my new guardians and my best friend in the middle of last semester. So far, I’ve been lucky and the secrets of my past haven’t followed me. Hopefully, it’ll stay that way, at least for awhile. I don’t know if I’m ready for everyone here to know. It didn’t go over so well the last time…
But let’s not talk about that right now!
Like I said, I have a few friends I hang out with in school and sometimes after, but my absolute best friend in the world is a boy named Yukimura Haku. He and I have been friends for a long time, ever since we met in a foster home when we were little. We helped each other get through some rough times and were always there for each other no matter what. Even when we were separated, we managed to stay in touch, and somehow grew even closer once we were finally together again. We’ve found we have a lot in common, even if we’re not exactly alike. He’s my best friend, but so much more. He’s like the big brother I never had biologically, the hero to my in-question sanity, my confidante, my savior during all that shit that went down last year…
He gets me, you know? Yet, as much as I love him, as much as we have in common, I really envy him sometimes. Like the fact that he’s so open about himself, despite the possibilities of discrimination. Or his dick—yeah, I’m man enough to admit to penis envy!
Most of all, the times I really envy Haku, are the times when I remember that he will never—ever, ever, everrrr—experience what I’m biologically forced to. For all his caring and empathy, Haku will never truly know the pain, the embarrassment, the frustration, the hassle that is the bane of my existence. The thing I’m experiencing right now—my fucking period.

A/N: “What?”, “¿Que?”, “Nani?!?!” You say? “What the shit is this, a measly one page prologue, and you end it on a line like that?! WTF, lg?!” *cough* Erm…yes, well… I can’t believe I’m using such a short prologue either… crazy. It just felt like the right place to end the First Person POV, though, and sufficient enough as a prologue setup, so there ya have it. Never fear, if you are confused, all shall be explained in due time. Plus, the first chapter is being posted now as well, so don’t kill me! It’s much longer, too! (About 14 pgs.) So, go on, read that! And please rate and review! Concrit welcome, too.
Oh, and in case anyone’s curious, the surname I chose for Haku—Yukimura—means snowy village. Thought it was appropriate. ^__^
