I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
A Savior Emerges
A stranger comes to Konoha and save four-year-old Naruto Uzumaki and takes the Kyuubi container into his home. Who is this man and what affects will his simple act of kindness have on our young hero? More importantly what is this man’s connection to not only Konoha but to Naruto’s parents?

A/N: Okay so I've been gone for awhile and decided to give you all a treat for being so patient. Here's a new story that develpoed out of an idea I had about a young Naruto, in this case 4 years old, being raised by someone who's been there.
Also I'm working on updating my other stories and should have the next chapters up sometime in the next day or two.

It was just past sundown by the time the man reached the gates of the village but already he could hear the music and laughter coming from inside the city walls as the sounds of the festival reached his ears. Choosing to ignore the revelry for the moment he walks up to the sentries standing at the gate as he hands his passport over to them.
The two Chunnin are less then thrilled at having to skip the festivities as they are forced to endure yet another night of guard duty. All had seemed well until the caught sight of the man now standing before them. The man was dressed from head to toe in black that matched his short military style onyx hair and coal eyes. The man gave off an air of confidence and power that they had felt the moment he came into view.
As the first Chunnin inspected the man’s passport his partner maintained a weary eye on the stranger. His trench coat was opened to reveal a utility built with two visible pouches on either side and what appeared to be two kunai holsters on each of his legs. In addition to his coat the man wore pants down to the tops of his combat boots and a plain T-shirt under some type of modified version of the ANBU’s armor. The visible shin and chest pieces were ribbed while his arm guards were concealed under the sleeves of his coat.
The man was obviously a shinobi though he wore no discernable hitai-ate identifying to which village his loyalties lied. “Everything seems to be in order,” the first Chunnin tells the man. “About how long will you be staying?” he asks as he hands the man back his passport.
“That depends on how my meeting with the Hokage goes,” the man answers as he puts the items away. He gives the guards an informal salute before making his way further into the village. ‘Doesn‘t look like anything‘s changed since the last time I was here.’

A frightened boy races through the streets of Konoha as an angry mob chases after him. This scene is nothing new to the village, in fact it has become something of an annual tradition to chase the boy they all view as the monster that nearly destroyed their homes and killed their family members. The boy turns down an alley hoping to find a place to hide only to curse himself for running into a dead end.
As the crowd of villagers move into the alley, cutting off his only means of escape the boy sits on the cold wet ground clutching an old worn teddy bear as if the stuffed toy might somehow protect him. “Your finished now demon brat,” one of them says as he steps closer to the boy. “We’ve suffered your existence long enough,” he says as three of his friends step out of the crowd to stand beside him, forming a type of human wall between him and the rest of the mob intent on killing him.

The stranger is walking down the street on his way to the hotel when he sees a crowd gathered around the entrance of an alley. Curious as to what is going on he leaps to the roof top of a neighboring building and quietly makes his way towards the alley. The sight below him is one that he knows he will never forget as standing between a terrified boy cowering in fear of his life are four shinobi who appear to be at least Chunnin level each pointing a kunai at the poor boy.
The man jumps down from his perch, placing himself between the poor child and the four shinobi and is forced to bite back his anger at the Leaf hitai-ate they each are wearing. “What is the meaning of this atrocity?” the man demands as he stares the four Chunnin in the eyes.
“This doesn’t concern you friend,” the first Chunnin tells him. “We’ve got the situation well in hand, now step aside and let us handle the demon spawn.”
“Like hell I’ll step aside and allow you to murder a defenseless child,” the man retorts. “You are shinobi of Konoha, it is your duty to protect the citizens of this village,” the man tells them as his left arms straightens out to his side at a 45 degree angle as the index and middle finger of the same hand extend out. “That includes a small child that has committed no crime.”
“I will not warn you again,” the Chunnin nearly yells as he points his kunai at the man blocking his path. “Leave now or you will share the same fate as the fox brat.”
“Kakashi,” the man says as he lowers his head. “Send for the disposal Unit.” Before anyone can even begin to wonder what the man had just said this left arm swings across his body in the blink of an eye. As he turns around to look at the boy still cowering behind him the four Leaf-nin drop to their knees behind him. The man moves closer and kneels in front of the boy as the bodies of the four kneeling men fall forward while their cleanly severed heads roll back towards the crowd.
Before the villagers can even gasp in horror four full teams of Anbu descend upon the scene to take them all into custody as an ANBU wearing a dog mask drops down from the rooftop to stand behind the stranger. “The disposal unit is on their way,” the ANBU tells the man. “The Hokage will wish to speak with you about what happened.”
The man looks at the boy sadly before turning to the ANBU and nodding. “Hai,” he says as he stands up before turning around to face the ANBU properly. “Take the boy to my place and I’ll be there as soon as I finish speaking with the old man.”
“Hai,” the ANBU replies before he picks up the scared boy and carries him away as the other man simply steps over the headless bodies and slowly makes his way to the Hokage’s office. He pauses as he looks up at the four faces staring down at him from Hokage Mountain and can‘t help the pain of guilt and sorrow that come over him ‘I‘m sorry Yondaime-sama. If I had returned sooner none of this would have ever happened. I’ll do everything in my power to see that your wish is fulfilled old friend.’

The Hokage sat at his desk sighing tiredly as he turns his gaze away from his crystal ball. “After all this time he has finally returned,” he says to himself. Looking up at the pictures of the other Hokages he gives a sad smile as his eyes fall upon the last portrait. “I am sorry that there wasn’t more I could do,” he tells the blonde man staring down at him. “But perhaps now that he’s here the boy’s life will finally take a turn for the better.”
A few minutes later the door to his office opens as the stranger enters unannounced. “Please have a seat Raven-san,” the Hokage tells the man.
“Thank you Hokage-sama,” Raven replies as he sits down in front of the old man’s desk. “I know you saw what happened so I’ll make this brief,” he informs the older man. “Naruto Uzumaki is now in my custody and I will honor his parents’ wishes and raise him to be a TRUE shinobi. However, should anyone attempt to harm the child while he is under my protection then their lives are immediately forfeit.”
The Hokage takes a puff from off his pipe as he considers the younger man’s words. “You know that the council will not like this,” he informs Raven. “I’m sorry to say that they have been turning a blind eye to the boy’s situation for years in hopes that the villagers will actually succeed in killing the boy.”
Raven only smirks before speaking. “I know full well what the council is like,” he tells him. “But as far as Naruto Uzumaki is concerned they no longer have any say in the boy’s well being.”
Sarutobi nods in understanding. “This is a dangerous game you’re playing Hiroku-san,” he says. “I just hope that Naruto doesn’t get caught in the middle of it.”
“Unfortunately he was born in the middle of it,” Raven Hiroku responds. “But now that I’m finally back he’ll have someone that actually gives a damn about him able to look after him the way his parents wanted.” Raven closes his eyes as he forces his anger at Naruto’s situation to the back of his mind. “I know that you, Kakashi and a few of the others have done what you could for him and I appreciate it,” he tells the Hokage, “But it’s time he had a proper home and someone that can give him the attention and support that he’s been missing out on for the last four years.”
==++==++==++==++==++==++==++==++==++==
An hour later Raven finally walks into the small house that he and Naruto now lived in. As he looks around the sparsely furnished living room he can’t help the grin that crosses his lips at how nothing has changed in the six years that have pasted since he last stood in the room. Making his way towards the stares that lead to the bedrooms he stops at the bottom step as he feels a presence in the room. “Thanks for your assistance Kakashi,” he tells the man without looking for him. “I can take it from here.”
The faint click of a closing window lets him know that his guest has left before he continues on his way up to his room. He stops to peek in on a sleeping Naruto and smiles as he notices how peaceful the boy seems. “Tomorrow we’ll start getting to know each other and get you settled in,” he says softly. “After that we’ll begin your training and education and by the time I’m finished with you, you will be the greatest shinobi this world has ever seen.”
“Assuming that Kyuubi is willing to work with him like I am with you,” a deep haunting voice in his head tells him.

A/N: Not to bad if I say so myself… For those of you who have read my other Naruto stories no this is not the same Raven Hiroku. The name’s the same and the appearance is similar but they are two completely different characters. Also the Hiroku clan doesn’t exist in this particular universe, Sorry…
As of yet I have no real storyline planned for this so I’m just going to play it by ear and see where things evolve from there. The only definitive plan I’ve got is that this Raven is a Jinchuuriki like Naruto, he was very close with Naruto’s parents, he’s originally from a hidden village that no longer exists which is how he ended up a Konoha shinobi and that he’s going to both raise and train Naruto. If you want to know more then that then stay tuned and see what happens next.
Please remember to review as that’s the only way I’ll be able to improve my writing.
