The Lifelessness of Puppets

**scene taken from episode 19 of Shipuuden it is not my original work I just incorporated it into the story because I needed to use it. Also this is possible a spoiler as mentioned and if you don't want to find out what happens than I suggest you do not read.**

A puppet is soulless. A puppet can’t feel. I guess he just wanted to lose that. Sometimes all I can think of is how I lost something really special. I could say that because of what Sasori had done, my love for art was just an instant thing, just a fling. The ‘relationship’ I had with Sasori, if I can even call it that, was no more than an explosion of emotions. Truly, it’s not something that I really want to believe. I want to believe that it was real.
You know those times when you fall asleep and you’re having that really great dream, but you have to wake up? Well, that’s how it felt. And it’s even times like this, when all it seemed to have been was a dream.

Deidara’s hand opened and a tiny bird sat there. He smiled fondly which then turned into a sadistic grin. Throwing it up, he formed the hands seals with nimble fingers and it took flight. He looked after it for a while before becoming bored and letting it explode into little pieces. “No wonder you get bored, you can never create a piece of art to keep your attention.” Deidara growled low in his throat and turned to his partner.
“What’s so explosive about puppets? They can’t do anything but lay there unless you control them.” He countered turning back to the wide open blue sky.
“Perhaps, but at least they don’t disturb me.” Sasori drawled already becoming slightly irritated with his partner. He sat working on one of his latest editions to his collection. The room was slightly warm and even with the door open the air was still. Deidara hated having to sit around. He didn’t mind it in that instant of course, but he did wish for a little breeze. “If you’re so bored why don’t you go somewhere and entertain yourself?”
“I won’t find anything of interest out there danna.” Sasori grew silent. Deidara leaned back slightly. Brushing back his hair slightly he let out a loud sigh before rising to his feet. Dangling his feet over the ledge where he sat he glanced back at Sasori who kept working on his puppet. “Why do you do it?”
Sasori didn’t look up but inhaled deeply. “The truth?” Deidara nodded turning completely to the redhead and crossed his legs. “I do this because I think they’re effective.” Deidara rolled his eyes. “No matter what you do to a puppet they can’t die.”
“Well a puppet isn’t alive.” Deidara stated thinking Sasori’s statement was an obvious one.
“I guess they’re not, but many pieces of art aren’t.” Sasori set his work down and rubbed his neck. “You should go out. You’re explosive pieces of instant drama might just make me want to kill you.”
“Fine,” Deidara drawled. Standing and slipping on his cloak he turned back. “Sasori no danna, do you make puppets just so you have some form of control, or is it because of something else?” Deidara asked from the door. Sasori slowly faced him a mysterious glint in his eyes.
“That’s a little too personal.” Sasori said quietly. “Go annoy Uchiha.” Deidara perked up.
“Why would I do that?” He asked angrily. “I’m sorry danna but even that is something I won’t do, mm.” Despite that Deidara walked outside and shut the door.
Sasori went back to work but listened to Deidara spout insults about Uchiha Itachi as he walked away. He couldn’t help but smirk. Deidara still had never gotten over Uchiha defeating him. Besides all that it was a good thing to get him off his back.

Deidara always got a thrill whenever he used one of his creations in battle. The instant they exploded he was filled with an unexplainable energy. Looking down at his unfortunate victim his eyes drifted over to the calm and quiet Sasori. Quickly refocussing on his opponent Deidara launched a giant clay bird and sighed loudly. The opposing ninja was wrapped up and confined tightly in it’s wings. “Are you sure you don’t want to take part Sasori no danna?”
“He’s a waste of time.” Sasori muttered but Deidara still caught it. Sasori had been a little off lately and it made Deidara frown. If this was seriously going to start affecting his partner than he wasn’t going to like it. Sasori seemed to always have a level head, what was going on? Turning quickly Deidara smirked and his creation exploded. A wave of wind blew all around that thrill of energy burst through Deidara. He didn’t care about the damaged earth nor the billowing trees, and scattered leaves. It was that one instant.
“You know danna, you’re seemingly becoming a little sidetracked.” Deidara quipped as he landed beside his partner.
“Oh really? I didn’t seem to notice,” there was a sneer of sarcasm in Sasori’s voice which Deidara had grown to hate. It was currently blazing through every one of Sasori’s words.
“Look I don’t really care what you’re thinking about, but pull your half of the work Sasori no danna.” Deidara said standing again. He began to make his way down a well beaten path and sighed.
“I don’t pester you when you think in such an exaggerated manner.” Sasori said suddenly.
Deidara didn’t know what had possessed him but he had cracked. He had turned quickly and gripped Sasori’s cloak. Sasori’s sharp eyes met his and he looked at him confused. Before he knew what he was doing Deidara had bravely placed his lips on Sasori’s. No fear that maybe Sasori would kill him, Deidara suddenly felt relieved. Sasori was just too damn pretty. Finally moving away to breathe a little air Deidara noticed a small flush on Sasori’s cheeks. Smirking slightly he took up the lead again and they both made their way in silence.
Sasori briefly touched his lips. The only think he could think of was how much of a bastard Deidara was. Reason for the thought: Sasori thought that kiss was too short. Sighing in irritation Sasori ran his thin fingers through his hair. He never hated his partner more than now, and it was all because of a two-second kiss.

Sasori blew over the top of his tea before taking a sip. Closing his eyes he was still contemplating what Deidara had done. Looking up briefly at his partner Sasori noticed him in a much more somber mood. Placing his cup back on the plate Sasori rested his head in the palm of his hand. “You know I don’t think I’ve actually seen you think this much.” Deidara’s eyes flickered up to gaze into his own.
“I’m surprised you even seem to pay any attention to me danna.” Deidara said clearing his throat afterwards.
“It’s pretty hard not to notice someone after they kiss you for no apparent reason.” Deidara couldn’t help the rising colour in his cheeks. “Deidara, I thought you were a little brave to do that.” Sasori said with a smirk gracing his lips. Deidara didn’t say anything he gazed into his palm instead. Becoming bored with Deidara’s lack of interaction Sasori ignored his tea and crawled over to him. Pushing Deidara into the floor roughly Sasori took his lips. “You always did forget that I hated to wait.”
Deidara panted slightly before looking up and glaring. “You’re a contradiction,” Deidara growled rolling them over. Kissing Sasori deeply Deidara finally slid his tongue into the hot mouth. Slipping his hands under Sasori’s shirt Deidara trailed kisses down the elegant neck. Sasori’s hands had trailed to his arms the lingering feeling of the soft finger tips burned his skin.
“Why am I a contradiction?” Sasori said softly his voice cracking ever so slightly as pleasure coursed through his body. Deidara’s wet tongue lapped at his neck and he gently sucked on a pressure point.
“You like art that lasts forever,” Deidara said briefly pushing his lips to Sasori’s. “And yet you’re never patient.” Sasori smirked. “I hate that damn smirk.” Deidara growled his fingers rubbing circles gently into Sasori’s abdomen. Sasori bit his lip and his eyes fluttered to a close. Deidara pulled Sasori’s top up and kissed his lower abdomen, the skin there was so soft. Dipping his tongue into Sasori’s navel he heard the redhead gasp, Deidara smiled.
Sasori whimpered as Deidara cupped his erection. The exploring fingers squeezed and rubbed and it soon became urgent that he needed to release, and Deidara rubbing his through the fabric of his pants just wasn’t enough. His skin was on fire and the cool air brushing slightly across his stomach made him grip Deidara’s shoulders. “Deidara…” He murmured causing the blonde to smile. Feeling his pants being pulled down Sasori couldn’t help the blush coming to his cheeks.
“Don’t be so embarrassed danna, I think you’re beautiful.” Deidara whispered kissing the head of Sasori’s arousal. Licking and running his fingers down the hard shaft Deidara groaned. Sasori was just too gorgeous. Slowly moving his lips over the head Deidara soon engulfed the entirety of Sasori’s manhood. Sasori’s lithe body arched and Deidara ran a hand up the smooth stomach. Sasori’s hands had curled in his hair and Deidara soon bobbed his head. Swirling his tongue every now and again Sasori was becoming a puddle of pleasure and the only sounds he made were whimpers and moans.
Deidara’s hand on his stomach was warm and drew circles. Soon it wandered down to his thighs and rubbed gently. Sasori couldn’t help his thrust into Deidara’s mouth. The hot heat of Deidara’s mouth and the velvety feel of Deidara’s tongue felt divine. Feeling the hard sucks and Deidara’s hand now massaging his rectal entrance Sasori bit his lip. Deidara moved his head faster, Sasori felt a knot tighten in his stomach and he gripped Deidara’s hair hard. “Dei…dara…” His laboured breathing was deepening and becoming shorter and shorter.
Sasori’s erection was pulsing and soon enough Sasori released into his mouth. Deidara drank the offered liquid and kissed up Sasori’s stomach. Stopping at Sasori’s face Deidara groaned at the sight. Sasori was panting hard and his lust-ridden face shot tremors to his own need below. Sasori’s dark eyes glanced at him and Sasori tiredly smiled. “That felt good did it?” Deidara asked, albeit an obvious question Sasori pinched him for it.
“I guess it was passable.” Sasori replied still trying to regain his breath. “Seems like you need release too Deidara.” Sasori whispered in his ear rubbing Deidara’s arousal with his knee gently. Deidara inhaled sharply above him.
“I can’t get that pretty face damaged though.” Deidara said in his ear Sasori bit his ear playfully and ran his fingers down between them.
“Does it need to last forever Deidara?” He whispered as he pumped Deidara’s arousal.
“It will always,” he answered breathing heavily into Sasori’s shoulder. It wasn’t long before he came and he collapsed onto Sasori. The redhead held him tightly as he moaned loudly in ecstasy.
“If this is a one time thing Deidara I will kill you.” Sasori muttered teasingly into his ear. Deidara grinned.
“I don’t think I could only do this once.” Deidara mumbled exhausted.
“Good, at least now we have something you don’t need an instant for.” Deidara snickered and let the exhaustion overcome him. Sasori’s warm body was just too comfortable.

Sasori was working on his puppets again. Deidara was fast asleep. Every so often Sasori would look up and check on the blonde, he had to be nice sometimes he guessed. Feeling a slight ache in his shoulder he set his current work down and walked over to the porch. Seating himself at the edge their leader appeared before him. “Sasori,” he greeted monotonously.
“Yo.” Sasori said simply.
“Just a check in, there’s something I want you to do.”
“When have you come to us an not given us something to do?” Sasori asked, his leader just chuckled.
“It’s just a scouting mission, there’s some information pertaining to our financial situation I want you to get.”
“Seems a lot bigger than what you’re suggesting.” Sasori said his eyebrows arching.
“I know you both can handle it.” The leader gave him the necessary information and vanished into nothing. Clothed arms wrapped around his waist and Sasori leaned back slightly.
“You weren’t going to keep that from me were you?” Deidara asked nipping Sasori’s ear between his teeth.
“I don’t know. It could have crossed my mind.” Sasori replied.
“We should probably get this done quickly. The faster he gets his information the faster we can get back here.” Deidara said releasing the redhead and stood. “I think I’m going to start working on some new clay creations.”
“Deidara, you do realize how kinky it is to have mouths in the palms of your hands don’t you?” Sasori said quicklu glancing back up at his blonde lover. He found a grin and Deidara lay a kiss on his lips.
“Of course I know how kinky it is.” Deidara whispered running his tongue gently along Sasori’s lips. “I just didn’t think you would ever mention it.” Sasori shrugged.

There is some sense of normalcy in life I’m guessing, but being in the Akatsuki and a bomber for hire prior to that I don’t know if I’ve ever had a sense of this normalcy. Those small moments we had together, are sentimental things. I hold them so close to me. It’s stupid really because I don’t understand Sasori no danna at all. Well, sometimes I did, and those just weren’t the passionate parts either.
I’ve asked him multiple times when he’s so keen on making puppets, the long lasting art. I’ve even thought about it. Sasori no danna lost his parents, having been lied to that they went on another mission, that just seems idiotic. I can’t dramatize how Sasori no danna felt about losing his parents, but I know it’s what led him to that decision. That decision is what probably changed my life for a while. Eventually I got over it, but that doesn’t mean I still don’t hate it. Like I said, a puppet can’t feel.

Deidara fanned his face consistently and had been doing so for the past half an hour. The heat weighed heavily on him and he just couldn’t seem to cool off. “You know maybe if you sat in a shadier part of the household you would be a bit cooler.” Sasori said from somewhere behind him.
“Sometimes we’re just too lazy danna.” Deidara grumbled flopping back onto the tatami mat he was currently on. Peering silently at the ceiling Deidara rolled over onto his stomach. “Are you actually reading danna?”
Sasori rolled his eyes and glanced up. “Deidara I don’t care how bored you are.” He said and returned his gaze to the book in his hands.
It went quiet again. Deidara’s gaze hadn’t wavered away from Sasori and he didn’t really intend to look away. Noticing Sasori sigh Deidara smiled. Sasori lay his book down and stood up. Deidara looked up as Sasori came nearer to him and sat up slowly. As Sasori kneeled they’re lips brushed against one anothers softly. Deidara sighed into the touch. His blue eyes gazed up heatedly into Sasori’s own brown pair. It was quiet about them as their kisses soon turned a little more passionate. Deidara soon found himself beneath Sasori.
Sasori’s hands wandered over Deidara’s skin that was visibly and soon he trailed them underneath the blondes shirt. “Wouldn’t this just make you hotter Deidara?” Sasori asked nipping playfully at Deidara’s ear.
“Yeah,” he answered breathlessly as Sasori began rubbing his nipples through his shirt. “But it makes my boredom go away.”
“I wasn’t at all bored though Deidara.” Sasori said suckling on Deidara’s neck.
“What’s more interesting, screwing me or reading a book?” Deidara asked gasping in heightened pleasure.
“I would say the book, at least that won’t tire me out.” Sasori answered kissing down Deidara’s chest eliciting more beautiful sounds from the blondes mouth.
“You get more satisfaction this way though.” Deidara continued a royal flush forming on his cheeks as Sasori continued to undress him. “Don’t be mean danna.” Deidara growled softly, “let me see you.” Sasori smiled and slowly began stripping himself. Tortured by the act Deidara found that he couldn’t move. Sasori had successfully straddled his hips without him even noticing. Eyes gazing intently as more smooth skin was revealed to him Deidara ran his fingers gently down Sasori’s stomach.
“You seem to have a fascination with my stomach Deidara.” Sasori informed leaning down and taking Deidara’s lips in a much needed and heated kiss.
“It’s just so soft. Sometimes I think that you’re too perfect.” Deidara said and Sasori continued his strip of them both. Soon Deidara found himself being stretched. He winced in slight pain and gripped Sasori’s shoulder. Biting his lip hard Deidara surprisingly gasped in pleasure. Sasori smiled fondly and kissed him deeply. Sasori continued to rubbed the bump of nerves and Deidara bucked against his fingers.
Sweat beaded on Deidara’s skin and soon he felt something larger replace the fingers. Deidara panted heavily against Sasori’s shoulder. He had never felt so complete other than now. No matter how corny that sounded Deidara just couldn’t believe it. He gazed heatedly up into Sasori’s eyes and they looked at each other for a little while allowing Deidara to adjust. Deidara arched his head up and gave Sasori a slow passionate kiss. Their tongues brushed against one anothers and Deidara felt Sasori pull out and push back in.
Deidara’s arms wrapped about Sasori’s frame as he built of a steady pistoning of his hips into Deidara’s hot heat. Watching the twists an expressions of pleasure cross over his lovers face, Sasori delved in for another kiss. Deidara complied and their tongues ran together. Deidara’s body arched into his own and he moaned loudly. Sweat began to run down Deidara’s brow and glisten over his chest. Sasori thrusted harder into Deidara holding onto his shoulders. Deidara moaned loudly into his ear and ran his fingers into Sasori’s hair.
Deidara’s body burned with the need to release. He gasped loudly into Sasori’s ear when the redhead began pumping his neglected arousal. Not being to help the tears falling from his eyes from the pleasure Deidara gripped Sasori’s shoulders tightly. “You’re so tight Deidara.” Sasori groaned in his ear. Deidara felt his orgasm fast approaching. Sasori’s hand pumping him in time with his well-aimed thrusts overloaded his sensory system. Not being able to take any more Deidara released all over Sasori’s hand with a loud cry.
Sasori moaned loudly as Deidara’s muscles clamped around him milking him dry. Collapsing onto Deidara both breathed heavily and Sasori hummed in content. “See, wasn’t that worth it?”
“It was satisfying.” Sasori said kissing Deidara’s forehead. “But I think I’ll let you do all the work from now on.” Deidara chuckled.
“I don’t mind seducing you and then screwing you.” Deidara said playfully. “Next time you should just believe me when I say that sex is more interesting than a book.”

“Sometimes it’s like you never age danna.” Deidara said playing with Sasori’s hair. The redhead was nearly asleep in his arms still glowing from their lovemaking.
“Well we’ve only been together for two years Deidara.” Sasori whispered. Deidara continued to play with his red locks. He didn’t mind it so much it was comforting. Opening his eyes he gazed at the wall in front of him distantly.
“Something wrong?” Deidara asked noticing Sasori’s far off look.
“No, I’m just thinking that’s all.” Sasori said giving Deidara a small smile. He never could smirk after Deidara had given him the ride of his life.
Deidara spooned Sasori’s back and held him tightly. “But you’re always thinking. Don’t you think I’d notice the differences in your thinking patterns?”
“I guess you would.” Sasori said feeling the pull of sleep. He lay in Deidara’s arms basking in the warmth the blonde gave. Sasori suddenly felt guilty.
“Something really is bothering you.” Deidara whispered kissing Sasori’s neck comfortingly.
“Don’t worry about it.” Sasori said softly. “It’ll be fine.” Sasori sounded like he was trying to assure himself more than Deidara. The blonde frowned but didn’t question it anymore.

It’s not normal for something to never age. I wouldn’t mind being an immortal, but then it always depends on the price. For example, when someone becomes a vampire, they can never see the sun ever again, and all they can drink is blood. I would die if that were the case. I think I wouldn’t be able to handle it in any case but that’s just me. When you need to change your body, if ever you do, sometimes it’s damaging to those around you. Why risk living forever when no one else can? Truly, I hate Sasori no danna, the reason: He decided that being a human was just ‘not enough’.

Deidara sat silently before Sasori. He didn’t speak he just stared. Sasori showed no signs of discomfort with his stare. He just sat. Every now and again a random breeze would filter through the room. Sasori probably didn’t notice. Well hell, no wonder he showed no signs of discomfort a damn puppet can’t do that. Deidara stood abruptly and dropped to his knees beside Sasori. Reaching out Deidara ran his fingers over Sasori’s ‘face’. Flinching back as his fingers met the exterior of what was now Sasori’s body Deidara lowered his head.
“I didn’t think you’d react this way Deidara.” The blonde shook his head. “Truly though, are you surprised?”
“Of course I’m surprised damnit!” Deidara yelled, which was pointless. A sudden surge of anger rose in Deidara’s chest and he slapped Sasori hard. He recoiled as his hand collided with Sasori’s face. He shouldn’t have done that. Nursing his hand slightly Deidara rose and walked over the other side of the table. He wanted to be as far away from Sasori, yet still able to know he was there, as possible. “Sometimes I think you’re the most selfish person on the damn planet Sasori no danna.” If at all possible Sasori sat a little shocked.
“You’d still call me danna?”
“Well why the hell wouldn’t I? Just because you’re like this, it doesn’t mean I don’t love you-What the hell am I saying?! You probably can’t even feel any emotions.” Deidara’s eyes became strangely distant. “Nevermind, I don’t care. What business is it of mine what you do anyway?”
“Exactly, it isn’t any of your business.” Deidara cursed silently for a few moments before braving to look up.
“Why did you tell me then?” He asked. Sasori looked away. “If it wasn’t any of my business, than what I think afterwards shouldn’t matter.” Deidara just waved off his own statement. “I don’t really care.” Deidara stood. “I can’t care about a puppet, when it can’t think of me in return anyway.” Deidara stormed off.
Sasori sat silently contemplating Deidara’s reaction. He knew he should have felt something at that moment. He knew what it was but he just couldn’t feel it. In some ways, it was almost the same feeling upon finding out that his parents were dead. However it was why he had done this, he couldn’t stand it anymore.

Shinobi are weapons. No matter what we think, we are still just weapons. What I had felt for Sasori should never have happened. The things we whispered to each other should have never been said. But we are human. As I have said countless times, the things in life that are instant, the art that doesn’t last, those things are beautiful. That’s why sometimes I guess I can look back at see how wonderful it really was. It was quite beautiful.

Deidara sat quietly. The Fox demon Jinchuuriki was outside and would soon be coming in. He was seated quite comfortably on top of the ex-Shukaku Jinchuuriki. He wanted to get the other one. Getting back at Itachi didn’t come around often and he was willing to take up the task. Sasori was next to him. Silent as ever but Deidara knew that he was impatient. Deidara didn’t care. “Don’t be reckless Deidara.”
“I’ll act as I please Sasori no danna.” Deidara said with a grin.
“Sometimes you’re impossible.”
“Well we share that then don’t we danna?” Deidara quipped not feeling any pain from his injuries. Sometimes he found that he was more of a puppet than Sasori was. That was saying a lot too. Sighing loudly Deidara put his scope back on and brushed at his bang. Finally noticing that it had gone quiet Deidara glanced over at Sasori briefly. There was this ominous air about the puppet-master and it made Deidara feel uncomfortable. He hadn’t felt this feeling in years. “You’re not feeling nervous are you?”
“Why would I be nervous Deidara?” The blonde shrugged in response which earned him a sigh from his partner. “I just want to get this over with.”
‘Just like you did to me.’ Deidara thought and looked down upon Gaara of the Sand’s face. He looked like Sasori so much and he was dead. Sasori was pretty much dead. Would this be what he would look like? Deidara suddenly felt bile in his throat and swallowed hard. Turning away from the other redhead quickly he covered his eyes. However, all he could see now was a picture of Sasori dead burned onto the back of his eyelids.
“They’ll be coming in soon.” Sasori said turning away from the current topic.
“That’s exciting.” Deidara said.
The wall before them crumbled and burst from whatever force hit it. Deidara nearly thought it was an explosion but it didn’t have the ‘boom’ explosions had. Four figures jumped in and he heard Sasori inhale sharply. There was an elderly woman who looked like she was from the sand. This was interesting, could she have been someone important to Sasori? She would probably be shocked than that he was still the same after all this time. Looking at the other two all he could think about was which one was the Jinchuuriki.
**The Blonde konoha ninja shouted causing Deidara some amusement. “There’s no mistaking it,” Deidara said looking up at the blonde ninja. “He’s the Jinchuuriki. The first thing he’ll do is scream and charge at you.” Deidara turns to Sasori. “Itachi actually decribed him quite accurately, mm.” Noticing that Sasori’s attention was on the elderly lady Deidara tsked.
The Jinchuuriki shouted at Gaara of the Sand underneath him. Deidara pitied him but he didn’t let it show. “That’s right. You get it, don’t you? He’s been dead for a while.” Deidara said and without even looking down smacked Gaara’s cold dead cheek. Once again the Jinchuuriki raged in anger.
“Give him back,” Naruto growled lowly.
It seemed that Sasori had figured something out because he looked in his and Gaara’s direction. “Hm. What’s wrong, Sasori no danna?” Deidara asked meeting his gaze.
“It seems that this Jinchuuriki wants to take him back.” Sasori answered.
“Mm, looks like it.” Deidara agrees looking down at Gaara. Despite his feelings Deidara decided to go ahead with his plan. “Danna,” Sasori glances over. “You might get pissed at me for saying this, but…” Deidara grins. “I’m going to fight the Jinchuuriki.”
Sasori’s eyes narrow. “Each of us gets our own. Don’t get cocky, Deidara.”
“With art, you must constantly seek greater and greater stimulation, or your ability to appreciate it will be dull.” Deidara said looking down into his palm, watching the mouth chew the clay. “I’ve heard rumours that the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki is pretty powerful, mm.” Deidara looks back up towards Naruto. “He’ll be perfect for my art.”
Out of the corner of his eye Sasori glared at Deidara, “what?” He asks in a low voice. “You call those explosions ‘art’?” Sasori looks over at their enemy. “Art is something that endures the test of time beautifully and gracefully.” Sasori turns to Deidara again. “True art is eternal beauty.”
“Eternal beauty?” Deidara asked. “Danna, I respect you as a fellow artist,” Deidara met Sasori’s gaze again, “but art is something that blossoms for an instant before withering away, mm.”
Sasori’s eyes shifted towards Deidara again. “What did you say?” He asked.
Naruto’s anger rises.
“Deidara, apparently you don’t know what true art is.”
“That would be you, danna.” Deidara shot back.
“You bastards.” Naruto growls.
“Eternal beauty is the only true art.” Sasori proclaims loudly.
“That’s absurd.” Deidara declares. “Art is beauty that lasts for just a moment.”
“Stop screwing with us!” Naruto yelled pulling out a scroll and a windmill shuriken popped into existence. He griped thew center and launched it at Sasori. It's deflected by a large metal tail. Still focussed on each other Sasori and Deidara completely ignore the opposing side.
“Are you trying to piss me off?” Sasori growls becoming even more angry than before.
“That’s why I said this would probably piss you off mm!” Deidara says in his defence.
“You should know what happens when I get angry!” Sasori says his tail ready to strike. “What do you say, Deidara?” The blond turns away from him and slowly stands.
Deidara knew what angered Sasori. He could careless right now. Their partnership was over. Deidara was going to leave this cave and take on the Jinchuuriki.
“To me, the essence of art is…” Deidara looks down and a chewed piece of clay pops out into his palm. Molding it into a bird he throws it up and smiles while performing the jutsu, “explosions!” The bird lands beside him and Deidara turns slightly to Sasori and says, “It’s completely different from your silly little puppet shows mm.” The bird took Gaara into it’s mouth, and Sasori’s tail weapon shot out at Deidara. The blonde leapt back up onto the birds back and Sasori turned back to their enemies amused. “Later, danna!” ‘You’d better follow me Kyuubi Jinchuuriki.’
‘Freaking Deidara acting by himself.’**

As Deidara flew around in the sky he looked over the land. He had left Sasori back there and nothing could change his mind to go back. Their art perfectly described their love. Deidara knew that it was only an instantaneous thing. Sasori was a bastard. Deidara swore on whatever he believed him that Sasori was truly a man who he could never return to. His mind drifted slightly to one night a few years ago. It was the last time he had ever touched Sasori.

Sasori sat silently. He was always quiet. Deidara watched him from a far, wondering what he could be thinking about. Finally gathering up some nerve he walked over. Taking a seat beside the redhead Deidara sighed.”Sasori no danna, what’s it like?” Sasori’s eyes snapped over to him. Deidara hated it. He didn’t like the fact that Sasori was no longer human. Sasori was a gorgeous human, even if he probably would have died. That was the beauty of it.
“I can’t feel anything.” Sasori answered.
“Well I would suspect so.” Deidara said turning to Sasori slightly. He ran his fingers down the wooden exterior and shivered. This wasn’t normal, Sasori wasn’t…alive.
“I don’t want to feel anything.” Sasori muttered. Deidara felt like he was stabbed.
“Sasori no danna, I’m only going to ask this once, mm. Did you feel anything at all when we were together?” The blonde sat silently and watched Sasori. In true honesty he didn’t want to know the answer because either way it would in some way hurt him.
“What do you want me to say Deidara, that I loved you?” Sasori asked flexing his wooden fingers.
“I just want to know what you thought danna.” Deidara said slightly annoyed.
“Than yes, I did love you.” Sasori answered.
“That’s all I wanted to know.” Deidara said running his hand through his hair. “But I can’t love you anymore Sasori no danna. I can’t love something that isn’t alive.” Deidara said and stood up.
“I think that’s the great thing about being a puppet. I don’t feel hurt by what you said Deidara. I can’t care.” Deidara felt the urge to smack the redhead again.
“Yeah well I can care, but I can’t do that.” Deidara leaned down and brushed his lips against Sasori’s temple. “Our love was beautiful because it was just an instant, and it withered into nothing. That was beautiful danna.” Deidara walked away and he didn’t look back.

Sometimes I do think back at all of the things and smile. It was such a beautiful explosion I guess, the little love thing we shared. However, that doesn’t make Sasori human again does it? No he died the day he became a puppet. Sasori no danna was truly someone I knew I could have cherished for a long time. If he had decided to of lived I think even I, Deidara, would have begun to see how great eternal beauty was. But you see, nothing lasts forever, and we have to make the most of those instances, mm.
A puppet is soulless. They don’t feel emotions. I do believe that at some point Sasori did want to become human again. At what cost do we want to let go of the pain? I have decided to live with it because I want to cherish those memories until I have to die. I hope I go out in a blast. That would be so exciting, it’s like I’d be building up and poof in that one instant it was gone. Amazing. Yes, I will cherish those memories, mm.
