Prologue:

In The Cast Room:
Vera – :hands out scripts: OK everyone. You’ve been given a full copy of the script and all your parts have been highlighted, so look over those and I’ll be right back with your costumes! :walks out:
Naruto – Wahoo! I got the lead! What’d you get Sasuke?
-Sasuke is found with a large cloud of doom hovering over him.-
Sasuke – I am most definitely NOT doing this.
Naruto - :looks over Sasuke’s shoulder at his script: She must have made a mistake. That can’t be right.
Itachi – :sees Sasuke’s role: No, that’s right alright. Or at least it makes MY role in this make sense.
Vera - :walks in holding basket of clothes: OK everyone! I’ve got the costumes! :passes out costumes: There you are! Oh? Sasuke? Did you want something?
Sasuke – Yeah, I want to know why I’m a--
Vera - :cuts him off: Oh, don’t worry about that. Your role was altered to accommodate the lack of girls. How else do you think Hinata got her part?
-Hinata, already changed into her costume, is highly uncomfortable-
Negi - :throws his coat over Hinata: This costume is indecent for member of the Hyuuga Family!
Sakura – Why isn’t Sasuke playing the lead?
Vera – because Naruto’s the main character and Sasuke isn’t a prankster anyways. It fits best.
Kiba – if that’s the case how did Tenten, Temari and Hinata land THOSE parts?
Vera – I already told you! Lack of options! :cries:

NINJAS IN NEVERLAND

Chapter one: Neverland

Naruto sighed as he sat atop a tree staring blankly out over the expanse that was Neverland. Sai, one of his loyal lost boys, climbed deftly up the tree and sat next to Naruto. There was silence as Naruto refused to initially acknowledge his lost boy; Sai wondered how to go about getting their leader out of this rut.

“The Naruto I first met,” he began, also looking out over their home, “was a loud, energetic person who flew in through my window and zoomed around my room and asked me if it looked like fun. When I answered yes he asked if I wanted to grow up to fill the role the adults I lived with set for me. When I said no he asked if I would come with him and play with him forever and ever. When I said yes I must have smiled for the first time, because he said that the only way I was going to be able to go with him was if I wore that smile all the way there. When I said I would he smiled and said he was glad, because he liked my smile. Tell me please, where is that boy who convinced me to stay at his side as one of his lost boys all those years ago?”

Naruto looked at Sai, “You remember all that?”

Sai laughed, a small melodic tune. “It’s the earliest thing I remember. It’s one of my most treasured memories, and it enables me to fly to this day.”

Naruto blushed and rubbed the back of his blonde head, “Geez, I didn’t know I made that much of an impression.”

Sai tilted his head to one side, “Why are you so somber these days Naruto-kun?” Naruto sighed, “There’s practically nothing new left to do these days anymore. I came here, found Ino, gathered up my lost boys one by one,” Here Naruto put a hand on Sai’s head in an older brother sort of way. “Explored and mapped all of Neverland, met the mermaids, made friends with the Indians and when the Pirates came I entertained myself with fighting them for a while. Heck, I even stole Captain Neji’s treasure from him, what else is there to do anymore? I’m starting to run out of ideas, and it’s interfering with my flying.”

“If it means anything, the pirates are still a bit of a problem.” Sai said looking out towards the general direction of the pirate ship that was in the bay.

Naruto shrugged and let out a noisy sigh, “Uragh, I don’t care about the pirates, I have no problems with them.”

“I think it’s the pirates that have a problem with you. You stole their treasure remember?” Sai said with a small, slightly worried smile. Naruto looked at him with curiosity, “So why is it that Captain Neji seems to have a personal vendetta against me?”

Sai’s worried smile deepened, “Probably because of what you accidentally flew in on.”

“What? Captain Neji kissing his first mate Lee? What’s the big deal about that? We all kiss and do stuff like that toeach other all the time don’t we Sai?”

Sai sweat-dropped and coughed a little. “You don’t seem to kiss Kiba-
kun very often anymore, if I may say so.”

Naruto chuckled softly, “That’s ‘cause Kiba bites. When Kiba stops biting, I’ll start to kiss him again.”

Sai decided he dared venture into shaky territory, “Doesn’t Gaara-kun bite as well?”

Naruto considered this. “Gaara doesn’t bite hard enough to draw blood... anymore.” Naruto sighed, “Talk is nice and all, but I’m still bored. What is there to do anymore?”

Sai tilted his head to the side again, “You could always look for a new lost boy. Or maybe someone to take care of us. Like a mother or something. Sometimes I miss my mother.” Naruto looked out into the setting sun and multicolored sky above them, “You can still remember her?”

Sai shook his head, “Not her face, but the feeling is still there.” Naruto jumped up and balanced perfectly of the tree branch they were perched on, “Well, then! I have something I can do then! I’m going to find a new lost boy, or a mother for us. Heck if I can, I’ll do both!”
Sai laughed, and leaned his chin in his hands as he rested his elbows on his knees, “If you’re really good you’ll come back with two lost boys, just take someone with you this time please.”

Naruto nodded, “Sure! INO!” he called into the darkening sky, a light started traveling towards him, and a girl, about six inches high and wearing a long purple dress with long sleeves was floating in front of his face. She stretched and yawned, “What did you want Naruto? I was taking a nap under a bellflower just now.”

Naruto grinned, “Get your sparkle ready Ino, we’re going to the grown up’s world to find us a lost boy or two, and if we’re really lucky, we’ll find a mother!”

Ino smiled and stretched her light purple wings sprouting from her back, “It’s nice to see you out of your moody rut Naruto.”

Naruto grinned, “Sai helped.”

Ino smiled at Sai. “Thank you.”

Sai waved away her apology, “Don’t thank me really, I only came up here because I drew the short straw. It could have been anyone of us, really!”

Ino’s smiled dropped a bit at this, “But you still helped Naruto get out of his moody spell. So, thank you.” She made a midair bow.

Naruto blew a stray bit of hair out of his eyes, “Enough chatter, let’s go Ino!”

Sai watched them take off, and shrink into the sky until they disappeared.

Sai climbed out of the tree, and strolled casually towards the secret entrance to their hideout. Shikamaru was leaning on the doorway, Chouji was sitting next to him, munching on an apple.

“So? How did it go?” Chouji asked between bites.

Sai sighed, “Naruto-kun was just bored, he was probably up there trying to think of something new to do. Oh, and Kiba-kun? The reason Naruto-kun doesn’t kiss you anymore is because you bite too hard and draw blood.”

Kiba blushed and put a hand to his mouth. Kankuro shuddered, Gaara shot a warning glare at Kiba. Then he sighed and decided to let it go. “So where did he fly off to?”

Sai shrugged, “The adult’s world I guess, he’s going to find a new lost boy or maybe even two.”

Kankuro raised his eyebrows. “Two?”

Sai shrugged again, “Why not? It’s happened before.” Kankuro and Gaara looked at each other, they didn’t look it, but they were brothers. Actually Kankuro looked an awful lot like Kiba, they were both brunettes, tan with slightly messy hair, and had small sharp pupils. But Kiba had large red fangs tattooed onto his cheeks. Gaara on the other hand was red haired with jade green eyes and heavy black circles that accumulated from lack of sleep and over use of charcoal sticks as eyeliner. He also had a tattoo, but his was of ‘Ai’ meaning love.

Shikamaru had long brown hair tied back into a high ponytail that displayed his prominent widows peak. Chouji had light brown hair and spirals on his cheeks, and his love of food showed in his size. Sai had short straight black hair and dark eyes. This was their little group, along with blonde, whiskered, and tanned Naruto; and now they were going to get at least one new edition to their Naruto-made family.


In the Adult’s world


“Ino! Stop! My shadow! It left!” Naruto called out the small girl ahead of him.

“What? Again! Every time we come here that thing runs off! Well, what are you just hovering there for? Catch it, catch it!” Ino screamed pointing in the direction it went.

Naruto flew after it. The shadow disappeared through an open window.

Ino smacked her forehead as she flew after Naruto, “Oh man! Not the storyteller’s house!”

Naruto dove through the open window, trying to catch his shadow. “Get back here!” Naruto chased the thing all over walls. Not paying attention to his surroundings, Naruto didn’t realize there were people sleeping and didn’t bother to keep quiet. The two sleepers woke up bleary eyed to stare at their late night intruder, who was currently wrestling with his shadow, which was putting up a good fight.

The lights flicked on. And there was a girl with long pink hair in a night gown silhouetted in the doorway. Ino fluttered down onto the windowsill and surveyed the scene; smacking her forehead again she realized that things couldn’t have been worse.

“Shino! Konohamaru! Be quiet! If you wake Akamaru he’ll bark all night and we’ll hear about it in the morning! We’re supposed to behave when Tsunade-san and Jiraiya-san go out.”

“It’s not us Sakura-chan. Naruto flew in through our window chasing his shadow.” Konohamaru said rubbing his eyes sleepily. Sakura scowled at him, “We’re not having story time right now Konohamaru.”

“It’s not a story Sakura.” Shino said, adjusting his sunglasses that he had put on his face the moment he had woken up. Sakura had given up asking why he wore them all the time. “Not you too Shino.” She said with her hands on her hips.

“Umm, can I have a little help here?” Naruto called from the corner in which he was wrestling with his shadow. Shino go out of bed and helped to put Naruto’s shadow in a half-nelson. Sakura’s jaw dropped.

Blonde hair, six whisker-like markings on his cheeks, and eyes that were bluer then the sea. This was the boy she told stories about to Konohamaru when he couldn’t sleep at night. She snapped herself out of it. His shadow really ran away from him when he left Neverland, and now it needed to be reattached to Naruto. “Where did I put my needle and thread?” Sakura left and came back with said items in hand.

After Naruto’s shadow ordeal was over Ino flew over and punched Naruto’s nose as hard as she could. Which respectively didn’t hurt too much but still got the point across. “Since you’ve wasted enough time here already dilly-dallying with your shadow I suppose that means you haven’t realized where we are!”

Naruto rubbed his nose. “We’re in the Adult’s world.”

Ino smacked her forehead for what felt like the millionth time that evening. “Look at that girl! She’s the storyteller!”

Naruto looked, and sure enough the girl had pink hair and green eyes, the girl that was always telling stories about him. Her stories weren’t always 100% accurate but they gave him a lot of ideas for new adventures when he ran low. Naruto stared at her, then he turned to the two boys in the room all three were looking at Ino as though they had never seen anything like her.

“Hey! Ino! Ino! I found us a mother! And I found two lost boys! Me and my shadow make a kick ass team!” Naruto shouted to the fairy. Ino nearly fell out of the air. “Do you really think that this will be that simple? You’ve got to ask them first stupid.”

Naruto shrugged and pulled his legs up to sit in midair in front of them all. “So? How ‘bout it? Do you want to come with me to Neverland? All three of you?”

Sakura just looked at him, her knees gave out and she fell in a heap onto the floor, she could not believe her ears, she couldn’t believe her eyes either. She was just asked to go to Neverland... this was all a dream right? Unfortunately her landing so loudly on the floor had woken up Akamaru. He came bounding up the stairs fulfilling his duty of creating a lot of noise if one of them was out of bed after bedtime. Konohamaru picked him up and scratched behind his ears until Akamaru was silent.

“I’ll go.” Shino said. Konohamaru nodded, “I wanna go too, I don’t like staying at foster homes and orphanages.”

Sakura looked aghast, “Konohamaru! How can you say that after all the hospitality that Tsunade-san and Jiraiya-san have shown us, all of us?”

“You don’t like the thought of being an orphan in a foster home either Sakura.” Shino said quietly. Sakura said nothing, her mouth flapped open and closed a few times but she said nothing. “I don’t want to be the one left behind to make your excuses,” she said at last. “I’m going too. I want to see Neverland anyways.”

Naruto grinned, “See Ino? It is that simple!”

Ino nearly fell out of the air again. “Whatever you say Naruto... idiot.” Ino looked at Sakura and her eyes narrowed. She flew over and hovered near Naruto’s ear. “Naruto, are you sure that you want that girl to come to Neverland? I don’t know why but I don’t like her.”

“She’s the storyteller! She’ll fit right in! Besides she’ll be our mother, it’ll be great! Ino get your glitter ready, we’ve fulfilled our quest.” Ino rolled up her sleeves in spite of herself. Naruto was contagious.

“Can we take Akamaru too?” Konohamaru asked worriedly. Naruto looked at Ino, who looked back at Naruto, they smiled and nodded.

Sakura ran out of the room and changed into a skort and top. She wasn't in the mood to be showing off her drawers while flying. A sprinkle of Ino's pixie dust and they were off, over the tallest buildings and into the sky. Shino had taken Akamaru from Konohamaru before they left because he would be able to hold the dog better in case it got scared.

Naruto led the way obviously, he darted this way and that, he did loop-da-loops and midair cartwheels that the three of them got dizzy watching him.

“The second star to the right and straight on till dawn.” Sakura murmured. It was really happening, she was going to Neverland.
