Of Birds and Bees

Author’s Note: In
real life, my motto is 'To each their own.' If you support gay marriage like I
do, okay; if you never want to become a parent, okay. In the fandom world,
there is such a thing called 'Mpreg' or 'Male pregnancy'. I happen to like it.
The last line, in honesty, somewhat implies future mpreg between Sasuke and
Naruto, if this bothers you, I apologize. Otherwise, enjoy!

EDIT: Apparently, I forgot to check my author's note; it's from when I wrote this over on y!Gallery quite some time ago, but I want people to know that, yes, there is now a sequel to this story plus another that will finally finish the series when I write it. Due to finals and Christmas, however, it might not come until some time next year. I'll probably post other one-shots that I've finished so that I don't keep you guys in suspense!

“‘Ruka?”

Iruka glanced down, brushing a piece of chestnut hair behind his ear, to look
at his young charge.

Naruto Uzumaki, a naturally tanned, blond-haired boy that was known around the
village as a very loud child, was also rather naive and trusting when it came
to the outside world. Iruka knew he was slightly guilty of sheltering the boy,
but who wouldn’t have wanted to try and protect him from the truth of his being
the vessel of the fox demon Kyuubi?

At the moment, Naruto’s scarred cheeks were stained a bright red while his
wide, blue eyes glistened with tears. Iruka felt a spark of panic fly up his
back; quickly, he examined Naruto for any type of injury before concluding that
the seven-year-old wasn't harmed. Then why...?

"Sa’ke-jerk was being a Ka-Kakashi, ‘Ruka! He said-he said that we were
going to make babies when I got old-older! But I said-I said I'm gunna be Hokage
and he said that I-I can't because I'll-I'll be preg-preg-nant!"

Iruka ‘I-will-have-wrinkles-by-the-time-I'm-thirty’ Umino’s jaw hit the floor.

Slowly, he lifted Naruto up, placing him on top of the desk his graded work was
scattered about on. Taking a deep breathe, Iruka asked Naruto if he knew how
Sasuke was planning on going about doing that. Naruto blinked, a few tears
sliding down his cheeks, and scrunched his nose as he thought.

"He said-he said that he's an Oociha and shou-should be a-able to. class=GramE>Ca-can he?"

Iruka sighed, already knowing the real culprit behind this whole mess.
"Naruto, I'm going to tell you something important. Something
so important that you can never tell anyone. Okay?"

Naruto grinned up at the elder guardian. "Okay!"

"Well, babies come from girls. You, Naruto, are a boy. Meaning you
can't have babies."

The blond pouted. "Why can't I have babies?"

Raising an eyebrow, Iruka continued with his...edited version of the
birds and the bees. "For babies to be made, some parts of boys and some
parts of girls’ have to...ah, dance. Girls are made to have babies while
boys were made to help with taking care of the child. Do you see why you can't
have babies with Sasuke?"

"Yep! I'll go tell Sa'ke that he's wrong now! Byebye ‘Ruka!"

Iruka watched the orange blur become a dot before sighing again.

Why did he have a feeling that this was going to come back and bite him in the
butt later on in life?
