Trick-or-Treaters Crossing!

By: Istas

“Happy Hallowe’en, Sasuke’s Mom!”

Mikoto smiled at the boy as she crouched down in front of
him, noticing from the corner of her eye that his father was hunched over with
his hands on his knees and desperately trying to get air to his lungs; it was
likely that once put into his costume, Naruto had ran all the way over to the
Uchiha Compound, eager to start trick-or-treating with Sasuke.

“Happy Hallowe’en, Naruto. Oh, isn’t your costume just
adorable! Who are you suppose to be, sweetie?”

The young Namikaze was dressed in a small, white jinbei with
a pair of matching white flip-flops on his feet. Minato had drawn three lines
on Naruto’s cheeks, making it appear as if he had whiskers, while a set of
furry ears sat on top of his head, the boy’s hair effectively hiding the black
headband they were attached to. As the child spun around to show off the rest
of his costume, Mikoto saw that the Hokage’s son had nine, furry foxtails
fastened to his backside; each dyed a dusty orange that blended into a yellow
tip.

Naruto grinning widely up at his best friend’s mother, “I am
Kyuubi, the Fox God! Dad helped me with my tails; aren’t they pretty?” He
asked, holding one up for her to see.

“They’re beautiful, Naruto, the colouring suits you. Give me
a minute, sweetie; I’ll go check on the boys. They should be done with Sasuke’s
costume by now. Fugaku should be down in a few minutes, Minato; he’s finishing
up some paperwork he needs to give to his lieutenant when he goes to the Military
Police headquarters tomorrow.” Mikoto said, standing up and waving the two
Namikaze’s into the house. After the two had taken their shoes off, they
followed the woman into the kitchen, sitting down at the dinner room table as
she left to go upstairs.

Minato heavily sighed as he sat down, leaning back and
making himself comfortable in the chair. He was used to his son’s
hyperactivity, but there were some times that he simply felt too old to deal
with it! Selfishly, Minato was glad that he didn’t have to follow the boy
around as he ran through Konoha, trying to get as much candy as possible.
Fugaku had helped him con Itachi into watching over Naruto tonight while he
took Sasuke trick-or-treating with Kisame. Though the teen was considered a
genius, he had a soft spot for his little brother (something that both fathers
tended to take advantage of; er, at least until Mikoto found out).

“Hey, Dad? What do you think Sasuke’s going to be?” Naruto
asked, fiddling with one of his tails. Ever since his father had purchased the
furry appendages, he hadn’t been able to stop his fingers from touching them.
Well, they were soft! Who wouldn’t want to touch such a thing?

Minato ran a hand through his hair and sat up, straightening
out his back. “I dunno, kiddo. Did he say anything about his costume to you?”

Naruto fidgeted, before shaking his head. “He said he’d be
going with Itachi for Hallowe’en, but he didn’t tell me anything else.” Minato
nodded, reaching over to pat his son’s head.

“I’m sure it’ll be something that fits his personality, son.
Don’t worry about it.”

The boy nodded, his fake ears sliding up and down as he
moved. Minato wouldn’t be surprised if they disappeared by the time the night
was over.

Suddenly, loud footsteps could be heard coming down the
stairs followed by the youngest Uchiha bellowing of, “Naruto! Naruto! Look at
my costume!” Sasuke stopped running when he reached the two Namikazes and
puffed out his chest; by the look on his made-up face, both could easily tell
that he was pleased with his costume. “I’m Tengu, the Hawk God!”

Like Naruto, he was also wearing a jinbei with matching
flip-flops, only black in colour. His normally pale skin had been dyed a dull
gray while his lips were coloured to match the drawn black cross between his
eyes. His hair was hidden underneath a white-haired wig; the fake mane was cut
to have bangs that framed the boy’s face while long enough in the back to reach
his hips. The only thing that really clued everyone into knowing what he was, however,
were the pair of darkly-coloured, feathered wings planted onto his back.

All in all, Sasuke’s dark-based costume went well with
Naruto’s light-based costume.

Secretly, Minato snickered at the surprised looks the boys
wore; it had taken quite a while for Fugaku and Mikoto to convince Itachi into
dressing Sasuke as a Hawk God. Originally, the young child had wanted to go as
a ninja to match Itachi’s samurai costume, but Kisame had argued that he was
Itachi’s pet Shark Demon and didn’t need a ninja to follow him around. Pouting,
Sasuke had listened to his brother as he explained what Naruto was dressing up
as and what Sasuke could go as to be it’s match.

Who knew that Tengu and Kyuubi were soul mates in the Gods
World? (Well, no one did since there was no such thing, but do you think Itachi
was going to say anything about it?)

End.

Happy Hallowe’en, everyone~!
