Everyday Angel

Neko: Okay, here is another one shot that came to me today while I was at work. It’s a NaruSaku fluff, I hope you enjoy. Oh, and just as an FYI I truly am open to all Sakura/(Name a man) pairings. As long as it has my favorite kunoichi I don’t really care whom she’s with.

Gaara: Neko-sama does not own Naruto or his friends. No, my existence on this earth belongs to the great and powerful Kishimoto-sama…

Always, everyday, forever. Those were the words that rang through Naruto’s mind every time he just looked at his favorite cherry blossom. His heart swelled with pride when she sparred with him. His lips twitched into a smile every time someone told him a story about her great healing abilities.

And everyday he would ask her the same question: Will you go out with me, Sakura-chan?

And everyday she would always say the same thing: No, Naruto, geez you are so annoying!

But that never deterred the orange-clad ninja.

So on an average day, when nothing terribly exciting had happened that day he repeated his question. And she gave him a different answer.

“Why?” Naruto froze for a moment, his mind not processing the new answer for a moment.

“Hmm?” She giggled softly as they collected their various weapons from the clearing.

“Why do you always ask me out? When you know my answer?” She asked him, clarifying herself.

“That’s easy!” He declared as he took her hands in his. “Because I love you!” She smiled softly into his blue eyes.

“Even after all the no’s I’ve given you?” She asked.

“I could never give up on us, Sakura-chan, never!” He said passionately. She kissed him softly.

“Then, today, my answer is yes…” And even to her dying breath Sakura would swear that was the biggest, brightest smile she had ever seen Naruto give anyone.

Promptly at eight Naruto knocked on Sakura’s door. She had told him that she was not going out on their first date smelling like a pig so he’d let her go home and shower and do other girly things.

He’d also taken the time to shower and make himself presentable.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: He’s just taking her to the ramen shop so why do they have to be presentable?

The answer is that Sakura refused to eat ramen, and told him that if he took her there it would be their last date, ever.

That put enough fear in Naruto to push him into making reservations at Konoha’s fanciest restaurant.

And so he knocked, and thusly had the wind knocked out of him. There she stood in a simple black dress, lip-gloss on her lips, her hair done nicely, and his heart in her hands.

“Hello, Naruto-kun,” she said softly, shyly.

“Hello, Sakura-chan…” he replied just as softly. “Are you ready?”

“Yes!”

Seated at a table by the window, perfectly placed plants hiding them from the other guests, Sakura leaned over to Naruto.

“So, Naruto-kun, I’ve been wondering. Why me?” She asked. He blinked in surprise.

“Because, on the very first day of academy, when I saw you, I thought I’d seen an angel…” He told her honestly. “You had your hair hanging in your face, your green eyes were looking around, and our eyes met… It was just a moment in time, but from that day on I knew I would love you forever…” She blushed.

“I have to admit, when I first saw you, I was terrified. I was looking for a friend and you looked nice, but later that day the other girls said that if I talked to you they’d hate me forever and I could never be their friend… I was so scared… It’s why I was never nice to you…” she told him, rubbing his fingers between her own.

“School sucked, didn’t it?” He asked suddenly, almost in a non-Naruto way. But she nodded in agreement. “Those same girls said that if I ever talked to you they would make you miserable, and I didn’t want that for you, so I never said anything to you… I just loved you everyday in all the ways I could…”

“Why me, Naruto-kun?” She asked again.

“Because, you are my everyday angel,” he told her before his lips met hers.

One year later:

Sakura cuddled her sweet baby boy in her arms. He had his father’s blonde hair, her green eyes, and their temper.

Naruto watched his wife breastfeed their son from the doorway of the nursery.

“Have I told you today, my everyday angel, that I love you?” He asked softly. She just grinned up at him.

“Yes, but say it again…?”

Neko: Okay, so this was short, but dammit it’s ten a night, I have to be up at five for work, and this was all that came to me… Please review? *huggles her Gaara*
